They mentioned that Hinata's merchandise was overtaking Naruto's and the other characters' in sheer quantity. Not that Sakura's alone was being specifically singled out.

It's not much of a consolation though, is it? I hope this drives the consumers and prospective viewers of the movie even further away from supporting that girl. The marketers have truly lost their senses if they think Hinata alone is going to ensure them success. Putting her on an undeserved pedestal in the place of of other, more deserving characters, including several protagonists, is only going to increase the emotional hatred many people have for her now.
