And what's up with the Iggles? Bringing back ALL three QB's? Will Andy Reid be the first coach to implement the 3-QB system like Mike Shannan did the ever popular two-back system? I'm sure Vick is still hoping to be a starter somewhere and McNabb needs to win a super bowl to save his career there. I sense much Quarterback controversy in the near future.

Mcnabb-Reid is standing behind him big time. Still says hes his guy. So Mcnabb will be the QB next year, unless another team blows the eagles away with a big offer. Minnesota might if Brett Favre retires (he wont). And other teams wont fork up high picks because Mcnabb is due to be a free agent next year so why trade now? Pretty sure this is Mcnabb's last season in philly barring any big trade offers, and if he takes the eagles deep into the playoffs. Pretty much supero bowl or bust though.
Kolb-They like him, and they will not trade him. The only thing in his way is Mcnabb. He will be the eagles starter in the near future unless Mcnabb wins the superbowl. (He+rest of the team wont)
Vick-85% sure he'll be traded. just not right now, they want to wait until training camp beigns and teams are desperate for a QB. Small chance they might keep him one more year for the sake of the wildcat offense.
Cncerning Free Agenct, its the same old story. Not taking chances on players like peppers, or kerry rhodes. Apparently not impressed by the Fa class this year. Will add a veteran RB like Justin Fargas down the line. Looks like Marlin Jackson the CB from Indy is going to be signed and moved to Fee Safety...lol.
The biggest need I'd say is defensive end and they said they wanted to get a definite starter. But Da Bears were set on bringing Peppers in and Kampman canceled a visit to Philly because they wouldn't guarantee an offer. So now they have to get creative, some rumors about giving up the draft picks neccessary to get ray edwards, but just speculation at this point. They've drafted well for the most part, so most of the needs will be filled via the draft, or thats how they feel at least. Frustrating for those of us who havent seen any improvement personnel wise form the team that got dominated by Dallas in the final 2 games. The only piece of optimism is that its still early in the offseason, and they have made moves in a longer time frame.
Do like the signing of Boldin for the ravens, now its up to Flacco to step up. Its time to make their run for the super bowl now. Wouldn't mind seeing Harbaugh win one.

The Bengals have given Chad Ochocinco some help across of him by adding Antonio Bryant. He's a good player when not injured and looks to help a struggling Carson Palmer. It's odd, but I feel as if next season the Bengals won't go back to obscurity after their typical one good year in a decade of suckage. They have a great running game with a stout defense, and now an improved passing game can actually make them contenders. I'm not worried though since the Ravens can beat them instead of beating themselves with penalties and a poor passing game like last season.
Second week of free agency and not much looks to happen so far as all the big names have been pretty much taken. But the draft is getting closer and with free agency period helping some teams, it looks to stir it up quite nicely.

As far as defense goes, Rolle, while good isn't exactly worth what he is getting paid, Dansby too. We just picked up Rhodes from NY Jest, so he looks like a decent replacement for Rolle. We have both Porter and Foote coming in for talks, so replacing Dansby won't be an issue. Ah B-Train. The ride was fun. But he was situational and we have some young guys to step up and step in. Hopefully Leinart does well, but only time will tell. That's cool though, we have a nice one-two punch from Timmy Hightower and Chris "Beanie" Wells. That and the FO has been doin a pretty good job with draft picks over the last few years.
The only team shedding more people than Arizona is Carolina.
Delhomme's gone. 3/4th's of our starting Defensive Line is gone (Peppers, Lewis, Kemeotau). Hoover's gone. Looks like were just shedding salary at this point. Not that I blame them too much, given the uncertainty and Peppers isn't worth what they'd have to pay him. I'd be better spent on keeping Davis, Marshall, and Jon Beason.
Seeing Delhomme leave was sad...it was necessary given his contract and perfromace, but he was a good guy. Would have liked him to keep him as a back up, but you can't pay a backup 10 mil a year.

I'm confused. I don't know what we're doing. Good thing it's baseball season, I guess!

Is Tapp any good? At best im hoping he can be a 3rd down pass rusher. But I want a definite starter at LE not just a decent lineman.

Whirly - But I don't think we'll get the delicious sound bites out of Carroll that we did out of Denny Green.
But...

I think Joey Porter will be a good edition to the Cardinals. He had 9 sacks last season and that was with limited playing time as well. He'll be a good addition and flourish in an already weak division (no offense to you Whirly and Jwolf) so the Cardinals will have a chance at a 3-peat barring the 49ners improving and giving them some tough competition. They've made some good improvements to help patch up the defense after some important defense players left. I think they're offense will be fine with their receiving corps being top nptch and a good duo back combo. The question mark remains on the QB since I read that Wisenhunt said there will be some competition between Matt Lienhart and Derek Anderson; looks as if he doesn't have much faith in Leinhart starting for next year.
As for Seattle, while it is rather odd that Caroll traded away Tapp I wouldn't quite judge it yet as he is known mostly for being a defensive oriented coach and possibly figures that Tapp just didn't work into his scheme. He's going to have to rebuild the whole foundation from the bottom up. With two high picks in the draft he can definitely bring in Russell Okung to help strengthen that line and give that line some support so Hassellback isn't always on his...back. With the other pick they could choose a DE (Brandom Graham or Derrick Morgan) which would fit in as a nice addition when strengthening the defense; Lofta Tatupu also should be back healthy and that will definitely improve the defense. I know there are mocks of them picking CJ Spiller, but when you have no offense line a running back seems rather...pointless. I'd stick to Justin Forsett (since Julius Jones won't get as many carries now that Jim Mora is gone) who around the later half of the season showed he is a pretty good back and just needs some line support. IMO they should pick up Colt McCoy in the 2nd to learn under Hasselback as he finishes out his last few seasons and start looking towards being competitive soon enough. Rebuilding is a tough and strenuous process, but luckily in the NFL it can happen pretty quickly.

Hes more of a stop gap, then a solution. Losing Dansby is going to hurt, especially when Dockett is going to get in a contract mess again. And your in a division with that beast Frank Gore. I think the Niners are gong to make a big push for that division as weak as it is,. They have the defense to do it, and if they can start adding to the offense with Crabtree I think plenty of people will be surprised. Im also taking into accoun that the Cards have to play Dallas, Minnesota and New Orleans. Thats asking a lot of a young QB like Leinart.

Honestly? I don't think we get Okung, even at 6. Detroit may take him since they picked up a couple of D-Linemen already and their front office is smarter now. That probably pushes Clausen to the Redskins at 4 and lets us get Gerald McCoy (which wouldn't make me unhappy). However, the OT class isn't as deep as previously thought and the ones I'd want are likely gone by 14 (Okung, Bulaga, Williams). I love me C.J. Spiller, but we need O-Line help more, and taking a lineman who refused to work out or weigh-in at his own pro day (Anthony Davis) is just no. Maybe we can trade down from 14?

I think it's a good move, but I would have preferred another quarter or do just sudden death. Also, the fact that this is being brought up because Bret Favre losing to the Saints rubs me the wrong way...

But you wouldn't want the games to end up in tie would you?

Yeah, I don't like the idea that this was brought up because of Favre making his usual bone headed pick to cost his team the game. I do like the college rule where both teams get a chance to score, but I'd change the field positioning and turn it into two kickoffs instead. We'll see in May whether this will move to the regular season as well and if it passes then. But the Player's Association is looking to get their opinion in on the change as well so this could turn into a messy issue.
