Ok this isn't about Naruto but I wanna rant about it anyways.
4KIDS HAS PISSED ME OFF FOR THE FRIGGIN LAST TIME!
So I saw One Piece this morning and it was supposed to be one of the more EMOTIONAL episodes. Sadly once again I was right that 4kids loves to drain all semblence of emotion out of it's dubs.
Ok so Kuina was supposed to DIE in this episode by FALLING DOWN THE STAIRS!
instead in 4kids dub apparently Kunia got jumped by some guys and put into a coma. Just as I predicted. You know I had slight hope when they let Ussop's mom pass away but this was totally uncalled for. 4kids completely ruined the entire reason Zoro asked for Kunia's sword so he could make both their dreams come true.
You know it just sickens me to no end that 4kids got One Piece and Shaman King. THEY'RE NOT WORTHY OF EITHER SERIES DAMMIT!

yo it was so freaky, first i wanna say that my dream was kenshin fighting sumthing that looked like a mix of naraku and seshomaru in demon form, they are fighting all around where i get lunch at school, kenshin uses that final move and kills the naraku/seshomaru thing. Then theres this summary and sumthin about the wife who didnt know that her husband was a spirit, and the little kids they couple had turn out to b little ugly looking demon things. The...ALL OF A SUDDEN Sakura and Tenten pop up and help the mother shush the baby demon things and theres this close up of the demon the mother is holding. Then i think the eye turned yellow or sumthin signaling that the spirit wasnt actually defeated by kenshin. So it was like i watched a whole crossover ep...I think i saw my math teacher too, and at sum point i was on a skateboard going way too f***ing fast that I thought my heart was gonna leap out of my chest. I kept changing POVs also, that was wierd too.
Dudes it didnt stop there, oh no! my alarm clock goes off for about half a minute. then i fall back to sleep and Im teetering on the edge of being awake and asleep, I am willing my mind to stay asleep longer to finish the dream. AND IT WORKS? u guys ever felt that way in a dream? you try to stay asleep to finish it? newayz, i see all black. then a letter comes into focus, and its the letter i got back from the artist from this deviant; http://dragonboy-mt.deviantart.com/ bout the fanart thing in my sig. And its this letter wif very beautiful words describing how thrilled the artist is that I spent the time to rite him a letter asking him for permission, sumthin about him being shy. Im pissed now that i dun remember the words, but i do rememeber they were kinda old englishy, i forgot them when i was writing the kenshin dream above. It was wierd cuz I was reading the letter, and I could tell I was thinking (in my dream) about what to write, it was like i was focusing my mind to finish the dream myself. Last nite was one freaky nite...
on a last note...THANK YOU SORITIA! YOU UPDATED NARUTO UNLIMITED! YAY!

Well... Pokemon was originally a little kids show in japan, so it's a bad example. However, 4Kids did suck some of the fun out of it. (Like this one time when James entered a swimsuit contest. He could inflate his boobs to Tsunade sizes! XD It was hilarious!!) A better one would be Yugioh. 4Kids took out the entire first season! Yugioh Japanese is really dark, really really dark. This "send you to the shadow realm" crap is was conjured by 4Kids, in the original, they killed each other, plain and simple. Also, in the original, a lot of people go insane... with was extracted from this americanized version. Not to mention, the Yugioh Movie isn't really a movie XD It's just spliced together! Oh man, I could go on and on! Especially about Shaman King and One Piece.

LMAO yu-gi-oh, i seen some show of that by 4kids and that's funny. Well the 4Kids version dinit look so dark like you say and yes, they ALWAYS send you to the shadow realm, it's like a rule now in that show

::sigh:: I can just see them trying to pass off Tashigi as Kunia when they get to Lougetown.
The sad part is they'll probably screw up the Arlong arc too. Which means Bellemere will get "sent to the hospital" for being shot in the head with a pop gun.
And we on the Arlongpark forums have no hope for Sanji. We're practically convinced that he's going to be re-named to either Sammy or Steve and he's going to be a lollipop addict with a french accent.
Oh and they gave Shanks a scottish accent! SHANKS ISN'T FREAKIN SCOTTISH! They probably only gave it to him because he has red hair like ShoPro did to Hinoken in the Megaman NT Warrior dub.
I can just imagine when Shanks meets up with Mihawk. He won't be sloshed after a night of heavy drinking oh no. It'll be more like this

(cider being HARDCORE apple juice.)
At least they've kept the names though... except for Zolo. But yeah the dub of Yugioh is all about the "Heart of the cards" and the "shadow realm" which consists of a shopping mall and a beach. But I can see why they use the shadow realm since I read about a kid who committed suicide because he rolled a six using Yugioh dice and the mom went on to try and keep people from playing the card game using everquest, D&D, and Magic the gathering as her reasoning that the Yugioh game can "poison your mind."

But that's better than what they did to Shaman King by changing Hao to Zeke, Ren to Lenny who has a british accent despite the fact he's chinese, Manta to Morty, and HoroHoro to Trey Racer. I bet there's more but I don't feel like pointing them out.
Pokemon was probably their only decent dub unfortunately.
But yeah the dub of Yugioh is all about the "Heart of the cards" and the "shadow realm" which consists of a shopping mall and a beach. But I can see why they use the shadow realm since I read about a kid who committed suicide because he rolled a six using Yugioh dice and the mom went on to try and keep people from playing the card game using everquest, D&D, and Magic the gathering as her reasoning that the Yugioh game can "poison your mind."

I haven't actually seen the One Piece dub, I'm scared it'll taint my ideals of what One Piece is suppose to be like. *hugs fansubs*
