Well in a way eternal peace was never a possibility. Once one conflict ends, another one can take place soon after. Plus peacetime would be the perfect period for a new enemy to arise

Feels like they're just trying to rope people in out of sheer curiosity rather than story quality. Start out making it look like big things have happened and then readers will have "no choice" but to stick around each chapter to find out.

Naruto can't be dead, the new gen can't never stand on their own without the old character. Did we see his grave?? like hinata and himaw visit neji grave in chapter 700??, he just missing to make people curious. If he is dead then the best scenario is he transfer his kyubi to someone else proly boruto.
An out of control man needs a strong woman to control him.
And even a violent woman will become soft and tender to the man she love.

why is everyone crying about the possible naruto's death ?
It's not said clearly naruto is dead
but can we just focus in the part where is hinted a massacre happened in the village ?
This means almost everyone (only sasuke and naruto are saved for the plot's sake) from the old generation may be dead
