This happened...

tumblr_mvlnvfF7UE1rogcuio1_500.gif

Again!

Well, in the very least Mako had the decency to break up properly before going for someone else (thank you for small favors).

Still, I can tell were this is going from an mile away. I honestly don't care anymore. Asami, you are better then this....

I can't believe people are surprised about this. I realized way back in season one that Mako flips from girl to girl.

I don't mind Masami at all, they go good together. The hate Mako and Asami are getting is ridiculous. It's better than Makorra, IMO.

If the writers want to do the Zutara thing why not make it Iroh x Korra?

I'm horrible but watching Makorra rage is freaking hilarious.

I would love for Korra to come back and not care about Masami, like "whatever, I have to save the world."

Love-triangle aside the episode was really good. Korra has matured a lot and Tenzin got some development as well.

Jinora is awesome.

I'm still in denial about Bad guy!Varrick, he was just so funny and enjoyable, I want him to be good.

The only thing I say I did not like in this episode was the Kiss I agree with Bolin on Asami and Mako dating, what the heck Mako :wallbash:  :wallbash:  :wallbash:  :wallbash:  :wallbash: . I sear the creators are doing this just to tease the shipping fans giving how they probably found it so funny with the last Shipping war on Avatar the Legend of Aang.

Well now that Korra and Tezin have finally made up I hope people will be happy now. Also it seems while Tenzin will not be the sprit guide his father wanted him to be it seems he maybe become a father that was less neglectful than Aang was (I'm not saying Aang was terrible it was just a flaw he had showing he is not always perfect).

Wow Varrick is more evil than I thought and I'm loving it for some reason. Those cops are obviously working for Varrick. For Lin I can't really say at the moment for all I know people seem to think she is a different person, though her attitude to Mako kind of reminds me of how she treated Korra at first. I think we have to wait and see what they are going to do with her.

Unalaq & Vatuu working together was predictable but I'm glad they weren't trying to make it a big shocker. I wonder if the twins will help Team Avatar later, after Eska punishes Bolin :smug: . Speaking of Bolin dude I think you are awesome but I don't think being an actor is not good for your state of mind. Anyway I wonder Unalaq & Vatuu will have a double cross, or the IGN reviewer's theory of those two coming together to make the Dark Avatar happens.

As far as Makorra or Masami goes, I don't have much of a preference. What upsets me is that it will bring more unnecessary drama, unless the writers take some other route than what I'm expecting, which is Makorra end game.

But, overall, I think it was a pretty good episode. I'm glad Korra apologized to Tenzin and that she is finally starting to mature. Tenzin, I think, is putting too much pressure on himself, thinking he hasn't lived up to Aang's hopes and expectations, when I truly can't imagine Aang being any less than proud of Tenzin, but I guess having a parent who is so larger than life would make him and Kya and Bumi feel that whatever they have accomplished could never be enough to live up to his legacy. I'm still hoping to see Aang's side of this issue.

I am not surprised that Bolin and Asami didn't believe Mako about Verrick, but seriously, seeing them take Verrick's side, someone they barely know, over giving Mako the benefit of the doubt is just, really?

You know what the saddest part of LoK is? THERE IS NO TEAM AVATAR...

Heck, I wouldn't even call them friends. And where is Naga? Remember when Appa was missing in TLA? He even had his own story, but at least Mako, Bolin and/or Asami could take care of her. Or maybe Varrick can hold her hostage.

Another thing is that the seasons are not follow-up to previous events. Mako seem to have forgotten about his history with Asami("I would never do anything to hurt you!" :kukuku:, and that he announced the "L" word to Korra. Everybody has forgotten the equalist plot, Amon was resolved, but his subordinates weren't. Not even his assistant. Don't deny the equalists had a point, Korra never questioned that and instead decided to defeat the "bad guy". And Aang who was so compassionate and kind, wanted to include everyone...cried when the lady gave birth to a new family member in Book 2, lost all of his people..it's the same person who neglected his children so badly they remember their childhood, and are bitter in their fifties. And Katara who never turned her back on anyone is mysteriously absent in this conflict? And the even though I loved the Wan episodes, the concept of bending ruined the setup the creators made in A:TLA.

This is an unpopular opinion. I don't like Asami. I think she has an empty personality. She is kind, beautiful, smart etc..but nothing special. And used as a plot device(or a transport device?). Same with Bolin. They are kind people, but I don't feel for them as characters.

Funny how Korra is going up while others are going down. Talk about switch around. But really, I have to see how it's going to develop but I do like Korra's aspect, so at least she won't get dragged down.

Yes. But as long as I mention possible improvements, this argument is useless.

- Eska and Desna are flat characters, like pancakes. I liked that this episode showcased a bit of her debth, but I still want to know why she acts the way she does. Desna too, even though he is even more irrelevant.

- Remove the love triangle.

- Make bonds, make Team Avatar. You saw how Bolin's 'friends' neglected his cry from help about dealing with Eska.

- Make Bolin and Asami main characters again.

- Creators must stop treating Mako as their pet, "ooh the world is against him". gee..Lin listens to anonymous tips, but not Mako. It might go according to plan(she may know of Varrick), but it's unlikely.

No matter what the show does, I get disappointed. Not no matter what it can do. I just don't think they have the spark anymore, I don't think what I mentioned above will happen. If it does, I'll happy ofc.

--

Good things in the episode were Jinora, Tenzin, Kya and Bumi. And Korra. I think it was more of a switch than a character development, losing her memory and learning about the first Avatar. It felt like a shortcut, but as long as she is back to being mature it will be good.

You make good points, and I see where you are coming from with your disappointment. There are things I like about the series and things I don't, but mostly I'm waiting to see where it goes. I definitely agree about Korra's development, I'm glad she seems to be acting more mature, however, the way the writers went about it was just taking the easy way out.

While I do understand the frustrations, it's just one of those phase you got to understand: it's not Avatar. There can only be one and it shows. I'm not saying your points are wrong, because there are some that I would agree on, but something like make it similar to what Avatar did is more of matter of preference. I know the show is flawed, but you can't get the same concept. It's like "This is no Team Avatar," but we can't get that concept all the time. I understand the characters' problems, I'll give anyone that, but making it similar would only lead a new complaint, which will be too much of the same or even just similar. That's why when the maker makes a new work, it's different from the previous work they did before. Like let's say Kishi goes to realistic/fantasy route like Death Note, no one would expect Narutoish like anymore because it's a whole new work. If it's in the same setting/world, then we will be hoping for Naruto 2 than a new IP.

That said I do understand your points though and like I said, I would agree on some, more towards to the reason then the process.

The point isn't that the formation of the former team should resemble this. I just want the bonds and journey to be in tact, it's simply good writing. I want character interaction and friendships enveloping. The current set of main characters is so scattered, so loose that they have to get their own seperate adventure of their own. I'm really glad their arcs ties into eachother though. I love the Varrick sub-plot and Asami, Bolin and Mako all have different roles which will be connected in the end. That's what happened last season too.

I do understand why this is hard for the creators to write. Korra's world has minimal problems and she doesn't have to save the whole world like Aang did. It's only when problem becomes so big in the climax that they have to unite. Still, sometimes I feel like they avoid possibilities just to go the easy way. Mako could've apologized to Bolin, and mayb he would've forgiven him. But for the sake of exposing Varrick and possibly Mako's stubborness, that didn't happen.

If that's the case, would it be best to wait for more? For developments sake. Maybe the fact we know scheduling plan makes us too curious on when it gets going or something. It's always good to know not knowing.

Wait for what, exactly? Are you telling me to be patient? I can't deny that I'm not, as a person. But we have four episodes left so I don't think that is the case this time. Best case scenario would be that the characters were written badly in 2/3 of the season, but turned out decent towards the end.

Or did you mean something else? I didn't quite get what you want me to wait for.

No, you got it right, yet at the same time, the bold answered it for me. In my previous post, I mentioned that the fact that we know the time of when it ends, it makes us too curious on the setup, rather than don't worry, we have all the time in the world. Take Naruto for instance. While it's at the near end, we don't know when it will end. For this show, we know and it actually hurts us to know that there won't be more to it but either rushed or like you said, decent towards the end while having written badly in the past. That's a problem when we know the exact time of when it ends because when we get near end with situations that feel like we need more time, it makes us upset that it won't be that redeeming or anything that can change the tide.

To be fair I never meant my post to turn into a debate/argument, though it seems to have anyway

To be fair I see the twins as henchmen like Amon's right hand man, so I wouldn't except much from them really.
I will agree with you on the love triangle though.
For the bonds thing I will give them the other two seasons to work on.
Can't really comment on your Bolin and Asami arguement, I think they will at least have something big to do with the finally.
To be fair given Mako's past before season 1 might be some issues with her, can't say for sure though.

Maybe it's best you take a break from Korra or wait for all the remaining episodes this seasons and watch in one go. That might make it a little less disappointing.
