I posted the one shot I entered into the 10th Anniversary Contest about 3 hours ago on ff.net, and I've already gotten a review saying that NaruSaku is pathetic, that I'm a loser, and that I should go F' myself.

There will be, Sammy usually posts a new page to the ending every night so there will defintely be a new page out tomorrow and I'll keep you and everyone else updated on when a new page gets released from her.

Left you a review too! Just shake off the NH/SS trolls. I think now, since the craptastic ending, the odd crappy review is to be expected.  
 
 
I don't know, I tend to think it goes in waves proportionate to the ebb and flow of the story. For a while there, when it looked like NS was endgame, the Naruto stories were mostly about NH. Not a lot of new NS stories. And the SS stories dropped off completely. But now there's a lot of NS stories again. So much so, in fact, I think they are slipping through the cracks in the recent wave of Naruto fics. The quality may be on a spectrum, but at least there's a flush of new writing going on. It had severely dropped off for a while.
 
 
It would be great if we could restart the H&E community on ff.net. And we have the Fic Listing thread here, which is very helpful for picking stories that are worth reading. 
 
Honestly, I think the big problem now is that there aren't enough people reading and reviewing the fics, even though there's a sea of new NS fics out there. Not necessarily on ff.net, I mean even here the Fic Listing thread isn't updated with suggestions too often, aside from posts that NS writers on this community make themselves. That what I meant that I think the NS stories are slipping through the cracks. They're moving too quickly off the general Naruto setting (off ff.net) to get as much attention as they deserve.

I'm part of the problem, I fear I'm really scatterbrained so sometimes I forget to review :( That's why don't ever ask anyone to review mine, I feel like since I'm bad at it, it would be hypocritical for me to ask. I'm getting better at it though! I haven't seen many new NS stories though, is there really that many new ones? I like what azfaerydust does, she lists great NS fics at the end of each one of her chapters, it really helps expand the fanbase.

Also, I wonder how many were discouraged by the ending as well. I know for me personally, it's been really hard to get back to writing with the way things turned out, as the characters I once had a really strong passion for are mere strangers to me now.

Okay so the doujin i foun thiss morning was quite interesting it's basically the alternate route the one we were all expecting (80% of it), and I've decided to share it with you guys. Yes it might, but still atleast give it a look the artist is sammy237, you find her on deviantArt.  I will give you a heads up it's not completely done, but she posts a new page out every night 8:00 PM where I live so i can keep you guys updated on every new page that comes out from her. She's no LadyGT but I think her artwork is good in my book.  So far her alternate ending has 17 pages, but anyway enjoy. Also read the panels from left and right it makes much more sense otherwise you'll be left confused.

I can't believe Neji still died for this. Out of all people, he has to die. The sad thing in which I forgot to mention is that killing off Neji is like killing off a character within a love triangle. That's what it is.

Don't worry, I'm terrible about forgetting to review too. And I'm an author! You'd think I'd remember every time. Not so! lol! So I never worry about whether someone does or doesn't — they could be just like me and flake out a bit at the end.

 

And yes, I wonder too about how many people were discourage, disappointed or just feeling burnt in general by the ending and that's turned them off from the fandom. And the rabid wave of NH/SS shippers after the ending didn't help either. I'm sure that played just as big a part in turning away fans.

 

It took me a while to get back to being comfortable with my fanfics again. Honestly, I was really afraid I might feel so burnt I might just drop it. Plenty of writers and artists already have. But there was solace in the fact that it wasn't just NS that was overturned. It was every theme, every character, everything I originally liked about the story that was thrown out the window. That took the sting out. It wasn't just a snub to NS, it was the unraveling of the whole story. 

 

So after the initial shock wore off, then I realized that I had to finish my stories just to give myself some closure. I have never been super crazy about the manga or anime, yet I always hoped the themes that were there would be explored. But they weren't. (I started reading just before the Pain arc, and after it ended was excited to see what was going to come next. If only I'd known!) So the fanfics have been the best thing I've gotten out of the series, which has helped me improve my writing, while fixing things in the plot I wished they'd show. And I couldn't let the go unfinished. 

 

Kishimoto might have botched the ending of his work, but that didn't mean that I had to botch mine!

 

Lol - sorry for the LAP! An upside to all of this is that there's a lot more NS fics and arts out there than there've been in the last few years. And I hope that as things continue to settle down that more people will be inspired to write, create art or finish the works they started.

Thank you!  Yeah, I've just been ignoring them. As you say, these types of reviews are going to be a lot more prevalent nowadays post Naruto ending. Hopefully they won't put off new writers from posting their content, as that would be a shame.

It's an old interview. It asked the director of anime on his favorite character, whom happened to be Neji and look forward to his development. This is before 614. That got to suck for him.
