because road to ninja is the most sold movie among all the movies in dvd/BD/VHS(LOL) in japan...

top selling anime 2011 (first half) : http://www.animenews...2011-first-half Lost Tower was already in 22k range after few weeks.

The last numbers I have for Inheritors of the Fire of Will is this : http://www.animenews...-april-26-may-2 the movie was already in the 19k range.

 

RTN definitely sold less DVD than its predecessors. I thought no movie made it to Blu ray, but it looks like all the movies came out in Blu Ray in 2013.

That's where the difference lies. More people bought RTN Blu ray than they did of old crap Naruto movies. I mean, in 2013, they already had the DVD, they had to be hardcore fan to buy also the blu ray. However, from your list, I can say RTN sold more DVD than the crappy Pt1 movie 2 and 3.

I'm talking about how the Narrator talked about Sakura's increased beauty, and Naruto...
Now their doing the same thing with NH, but with the scarf.

I am not sure RTN is such a good exemple. At least, not in the editor's mind.
Despite its fantastic box office success (top grossing Naruto movie by a wide margin, more than 3 times the gross of Blood Prison), it flopped on the DVD sales (sold barely more than Blood Prison, hence less than lost tower or Inheritors of the Fire of Will. Don't have the earlier movies sales, but it's probably RTN ranks 8th out 9 Naruto movies in DVD sales. The manga sales have not increased with the movie either, despite all the promotion and the success the movie had. Proof that the movie is also a failure on that aspect.
 
There was a demand (people rushed to see Hinata's boobies, which was the most discussed point of the movie before it came out) that was not satisfied by the insignificance of Hinata and the Narusaku aspect of the movie. It's possible Kishi or his editors want to correct that.


Out of curiosity, may I know where did you get the numbers? Since my friends in Japan sort of saying the other way around. RtN is a box office success. Full stop.

We also need to consider the context when the DVD of RtN was released. If it's true that the DVD is flopping, the context should be investigated. It was released on April 2013. You knew what happens just before the release date which causes the manga sale to stumble? Long dragging war plot, Hinata handholding chakra transfer crap, and her getting more panels.

You can go and check the statistics for Naruto manga sales. Try to compare 1st half of 2013 vs 1st half of 2014. One can draw a conclusion and easily bust the myth that certain pairing is more popular than NS.

Back to the discussion topic, I suppose if Hinata were to be involved in the movie, it is to introduce conflict which will be resolved later on. Let's see... I'm still tempted to fly to Japan to watch this, wish I have the time....

Well, on the official website, the scarf covers Kakashi, Sai and Sakura, but it ends at Hinata.
