Obito was able to do something that Naruto couldn't do now:

I always like obirin story more than Narusaku, only because kid Rin and obito were such great characters,(evil adult obito is another story) but the only thing is we don't actually know if obito got rin....they both died before romance could happen, we know Rin cares greatly for him, but so did sakura towards Naruto and yet look what happened. It isn't confirmed that obito won rins heart so....in the end none neither jiraiya, obito, or naruto got the girl. :(

I think i should add some words to that Red wedding Narusaku Edit....something like "NOO NOT SAKURA'S CHARACTER RESOLUTION!" and "NO KISHI DON'T DESTROY MY INTEGRITY!" For Naruto. :zaru:

I always like obirin story more than Narusaku, only because kid Rin and obito were such great characters,(evil adult obito is another story) but the only thing is we don't actually know if obito got rin....they both died before romance could happen, we know Rin cares greatly for him, but so did sakura towards Naruto and yet look what happened. It isn't confirmed that obito won rins heart so....in the end none neither jiraiya, obito, or naruto got the girl. :(

 

I'd say they got to together in the afterlife remember Rin did tell Obito she was always watching over him. Before they left for A.L. Obito told Rin hey wait for me just a little longer I gotta help Kakashi. Then She said "Don't worry I'll be here." The minute Obito did what he needed to do, He told Kakashi I'm going back Rin's waiting for me. So to me at least they got together in the end.

Ironically, it's the only logical ship that became canon.  Too bad they look depressed and don't even have a scene together in the epilogue.

I would hope so! That would be awesome. But you know...kishimoto has a weird way of showing something and making it mean something else or he will write something and then act like if the scene didn't really actually have a meaning. So yeah I don't trust kishi's writing anymore. To me he didn't confirm it so its not canon. Unless he ever talks about it and states that in the end they did get together, that would make me super happy.

I feel like sometimes Im the only one on this forum that likes Obito's character entirely. I always felt that among the villains, Obito's pain was the most palpable pain, I actually felt for him. The chapter where Rin died, I kinda cringed as he flew off the handle, and I also cringed when Madara told him he was responsible for Rins death, I just felt bad for the guy. I think Obito was the best villian...

I liked Obito as a villain aswell but his redemption was a mess though. Especially the "cool guy" remark from Naruto. That pissed off a lot of people.
