I've been hearing alot about Dressrosa (current arc) and the amazingness Oda's given, but I'm purposely staying away from all the spoilers just so the experience doesn't get taken away from me. I'll also keep in mind about Enis Lobby once I get there.

Good idea, especially with how epic the current arc is. It blows away anything Kishi has done. You said you were around the end of Skypeia/start of Water 7 right? You're already really close to Enies Lobby.

kitten obviously. Someone said that Luffy's love interest was confirmed to be Hancock. Is this true? Cuz I would think it'd be Nami...

 

Nah highly unlikely to be true, the only realistic pairing looked like Nami/Luffy but Oda said quite a few ago now that he is not going to concentrate on the romantic aspects of the manga, the biggest focus is on family.

 

I'm getting a bit bored with the current arc, it's been going on for too long and honestly there is too much stuff going on, that it's hard to get an idea what is happening and I still have no idea what Nami, Brook and Chopper are doing. It's a testament to Oda-Sensie that he can keep track of not just the original crew but the mass of other charactors that are running about all over the place.

Zoro's cool too! I remember when I got to episode 3 my first impression was this dude's badass already can't wait to see what he's got to offer. And I gotta say based on what I've seen so far he's delivered everything I felt really bad for him when he lost to Mihawk when Don Krig first came into the series. 

 

Hmm I'll keep that in mind once I get to Dressrosa

Zoro is such a beast XD if I had to pick my top 3 characters, they would be Luffy, Zoro/Nami, Zoro's my second favorite male. The original three crew members!

Enies Lobby comes directly after Water 7, Water 7 is basically like the Jaya arc was to skypeia.

Yup. Water 7, Enies Lobby, a filler arc thy I've only seen once lol, then the next big arc; Thriller Bark.

 

 

Yeah I believe I stopped right around there in the anime, granted I kinda spoiled myself by reading the description of Thriller Bark and White Beard War Arc along time ago, although my memories really really vague about it (surprisingly)  It's a good thing cause  now I'll get to see and remember how these events go down. 

 

 

Btw I'm catching up on One Piece through the manga and I just finished the Water Seven Saga which means Enies Lobby is out of the way.  Man though Robin's backstory like holy kitten I kept staring at the screen for like 5-10 minutes each chapter of the flashback, I also loved the way it ended with Luffy's grandpa  briefly appearing and I was so confused at first when they mentioned Dragon but then they explained it and I just found it hilarious like Luffy, Luffy Luffy the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Also the tension between Luffy and Usopp when it came to the Going Merry like Holy kitten!! Even the stuff with Franky left me really intriguied too. I don't think I've said it before, but what I'm also liking about Oda is that he makes these side stories in the chapter covers (at least most of them) within the arcs, it's really creative.  

 

I'll probably start reading Thriller Bark probably on saturday, got a kitten ton of stuff to take care of  tomorrow. Based on the first volume cover for Thriller Bark I get a good feeling it's going to deal with Brook (considering I know through watching Strong World and Film Z).

Yeah, Robins past was really done well, it was incredibly sad. Oda does a great job with back stories, Brook is another example. Hell, I'm this arc alone, Oda has told the stories of 3 side characters (that he's just introduced this arc) and made them deeper characters than some of the main cast in Naruto. The appearance of Garp was hilarious, and I flipped when I learned about Dragon. Luffys the son of one of the strongest in the world, my god XD

I hated Usopp for the things he said to Luffy. He was completely in the wrong for that. As a part of the story, that subplot was great, but it made usopp look like such a tool. I love the little cover stories!

My thoughts

When Doflamingo said he wanted to kill the celestial dragons I was like "Well kitten, maybe he'll help Luffy out later on"

Then Law started talking about his past and then I realized Doflamingo is just purely evil and wants to kill the Celestial dragons for the wrong reasons

I do wonder what happened to Rosinante devil fruit after he died though. When a devil fruit user dies, does it appear close to the body or at a random place?

The fights were amazing as always and Oda seems to use comic relief at the right moments

Bellamy is such a frustrating character, I don't know why he still follows Doflamingo

I'm certain that'll they use the princess to heal Law

What i love the most though is the mystery surrounding the Will of D, such a monstrous family(I'm pretty sure they're all related some how).

I just finished reading the Thriller Bark Arc and it wasn't bad, but wasn't really what I'd consider amazing like how The East Blue Saga, Water 7, and Alabasta. I did like the introduction to Brook's character and getting to know what his backstory was and when they got to that mansion cause I'll be honest it gave me the creeps while reading it. The threat wasn't bad, but idk they just didn't feel threatening to me. However I will say that the fights were amazing as always, and originally this arc was gonna get an okay to good rating. However the reason why I'm giving this arc a great is simply not only because of Brook joining the crew, but I'm sensing not only will Ace return but also play a huge role in this next arc I'm about read .

For years I've heard many people talk about the Great Summit War Saga in One Piece and it's true greatness. I always wondered what all the commotion was about and I read the summary from Skypeia to the Summit War Saga years ago, but I completely forgot what happened (which was a good thing to be honest). Now that I've actually seen how the events go down in the Summit War Saga I'm truly and deeply utterly speechless. First off the whole Saobody Archipelago set up arc really grabbed my attention with what Luffy and the crew were doing. Discovering that Shanks and Buggy were apart of Gold D. Rogers was WTF!!! I knew they were special, but that was just woah...  The Straw Hats being defeated and separated by the end of that arc was just wow I honestly didn't see that coming. Then we cut to Ace....  Where do I start with this... Luffy's drive to save his brother no matter what was amazing and came the White Beard Pirates and I'll be honest my jaw literally dropped from what I was seeing. The best way to desrcibe is like the Boston Massacre only this is much much worse to be honest.... Once I got to the two important deaths of Ace and White Beard man I got be honest  I was straight up emotional for a good hour to hour and half as I continued reading the chapters forward. Although my emotions got worse to a point when I started crying once the flashback chapters came and even that was amazing too, I feel really bad for Sabo like poor kid was about to take off and then he gets killed. The way how Oda ended the last pre-timeskip chapter was so fitting and I'm interested in seeing how things are going with timeskip.   

 

 

So I'm going to take a guess that Fishman Island is the first timeskip/next arc in the series. I'll probably start reading it sometime next week cause I'm still trying to process everything through like Damn, Arlong Park and Alabasta were probably my top 2 favorite arcs in the series, but I think The Summit War Saga overtakes Arlong Park for the #1 spot.

I did not like the fact that Oda sent her character back to square one (losing again and being humiliated by a schichibukai) for no reason except to show her tities. She doesn' t grow as a character or is terribly done and is reduced to a submissive girl with big titties that cries for children for no reason.
