Well, we didn't actually SS or NH together in the epilogue. Far from it and the only reason why everyone thinks NH and SS are together is because Bolt and Himawari both have whisker marks and Sarada called Sakura "mama"/"mum". I just don't know why Kishi didn't make it clearer. That's what makes me pretty suspicious.

Excellent point. And Sakura seems like she already knows a lot about Bolt, considering the fact that when Sarada talkes about boys being stupid, Sakura replied with "Bolt, again? "

Has any of the pairings actually been confirmed? The Last Movie keeps saying about the blank period or talking about how to see how the epilogue happened. Why not just come out and say, to see how Naruto fell in love with Hinata or something like that? 

 

There's no reason to hide anything any more unless there is.

At this point, I can unequivocally say there is no reason to throw out anything at this point until the movie.

Exactly! this is the last chapter, and you'd expect kishi to go all out on the pairings. there should be no room left for any ambiguity, but there is, and tons of it!

Yeah, I don't think there's any real reason to jump to NH/SS. Have I accepted it? No but I've already gone through the grief of trying to accept it so at this point I'm prepared. But there's just so much that's been based on people's assumptions. This whole ending is based on everyone's assumptions. 

 

I'm hoping for a total reversal in the movie. At that point, NH/SS fans would be humbled and if that happened and NS happened, I wouldn't try to rub it in their faces because I would know the feeling. 

 

But at this point, to throw out these theories based on the assumption of NH/SS is more so for preventing one from getting hurt again. There's no direct evidence supporting NH/SS and the whisker marks at this point are illogical either way.

Now that I finally finished my exams today, I might try looking up some things, maybe hunt for more clues. I think I've exhausted 700, so I might try to find a way to explain the whisker marks.

 

Yeah, too much ambiguity for a conclusive ending. I understand if he made Naruto just mention his daughter or Hinata or something like that and explore their relationship later, but it's like he went out of his way not too.

 

Btw, just wanted to direct this message to Chatte, really, really want to read your theory. More than anything you helped me to look beyond my disappointment and actually analyse things. Heck, a few days ago I wasn't even able to read 700, however I've been through it at least 8 or 9 times already! And it's not denial, it's not like I've ignored the situation or anything, I'm just looking at things logically and heck if it's wrong, water off my back. So I wanted to thank you and implore you to come back because all of this, it wouldn't be possible hadn't you had the courage and ability to open this thread and ask for help :)

Like...I counted the number of things that are on Hima whatever's hair, and it's the same count as Lee's son. Also, Hinata's curves around her head and is shaped differently. Also...why would Hima whatever say next time they would bring her brother along if Bolt has school? And, if anything, why not bring him when he doesn't have school? Unless...her brother's busy training with her father. 

 

And the more I Iook at it, the more Salad comes across as an older sister looking to see if her brother's going to do something troublesome and waiting to tell on him. And then the whole adoption possibility comes into play when Bolt feels left out all the time. If we're supposed to believe that Naruto really does make time for him, then it must be something else that he's mad about. Also, someone made a good point before...why not show Bolt and his supposed sister in the little image for the promotion of part 3. And surely if Salad feels neglected and tells Sakura so, as her mother she should be able to say SOMETHING about it...unless she isn't and she can't push Sasuke to do so.  Hmmmmm.....

I mean, I know it should be obvious to her that she's adopted (since she's got black hair and all). Maybe I'm taking it too far but it doesn't seem like it could mean that and the panel transition was to show that Sasuke is her real father.
