Not to mention that compared with SS I see much more development. What I hate to be honest, SS fans that shut down their development. I recently saw this on Tumblr...

And given that Kishimoto chose to insert such a random flashback of Karin being saved by Sasuke when they were younger I see it as his way of establishing Karin's relationship with Sasuke as something more significant than when you compared to Suigetsu and Juugo.

Karin's relationship with Sasuke seems more significant than what people actually think.

At least she has a valid reason to like him. It's not like she walked in the forest and then saw him, thinking, "Wow, he's a hunk!" Also, Kishi sure put into thoughts of when did Sasuke met Karin the first time if you know what I mean. That's why I do believe we will get a flashback of Sound village or whatever Orochimaru owns. I feel like we will learn about everyone's first meetings.

Indeed. I don't like "Oh he's handsome and cool! I must love him." I'm all for developments and chemistry. Karin seems to know a lot of Sasuke judging by her being there and witnessing a lot of things, including his anger at Danzou about Itachi being used. Seems like the whole team knows the truth. Sakura knows a lot of Naruto as Karin seems to know a lot of Sasuke. You can say somewhat similar to Sakura to Sasuke but end of part 1 was her dead end.

I like SasuKarin because it's a nice contrast to NaruSaku.

Sakura is part of Naruto's journey of light and Karin is part of Sasuke's journey of darkness. Sakura has been alongside Naruto as he became a hero and Karin has been alongside Sasuke as he became a villain. NaruSaku is the light couple and SasuKarin is the dark couple.

Even the Summit arc portrayed conflict in each couple. First you have Naruto rejecting Sakura's love and then you have Sasuke betraying Karin's trust.

Look at the ways that Naruto and Sasuke mirror each other:

Pre-stroy:
- Sasuke suffered from family loss / Naruto suffered from loneliness
- Sasuke wants revenge / Naruto wants acknowledgment

Zabuza arc:
- Sasuke awakens the sharingan / Naruro awakens the kyuubi

Chunin exams and Search for Tsunade:
- Sasuke learns lion combo / Naruto learns Naruto rendan (very similar taijutsu moves)
- Sasuke improves his taijutsu / Naruto learns summons and better kyuubi control
- Sasuke learns chidori / Naruto learns rasengan

Sasuke Retrieval:
- Sasuke achieves Curse Seal form / Naruto achieves One-tail kyuubi form

In Part 2 they both improve, but Sasuke has an initial edge:
- Sasuke is generally more proficient / Naruto learns rasenshuriken

Itachi / Pain arc:
- Sasuke fights Itachi / Naruto fights Pain (both with feelings of revenge)
- Sasuke obtains mangekyo sharingan / Naruto obtains sage mode

In the beginning they both share the same path as Team 7, but then form part 2 onwards:
- Sasuke has his team with Karin, Suigetsu and Juugo / Naruto has his team with Sakura, Sai and Kakashi

Kage Summit and Turtle Island:
- Sasuke develops Susanoo / Naruto develops kyuubi cloak

- Sasuke is said to have changed by Sakura / Naruto is said to be bright by Karin

Ninja War:
- Sasuke unleashes Eternal MS / Naruto unleashes full kyuubi mode
- Sasuke fights Kabuto / Naruto fights Tobi
- Sasuke looks for answers / Naruto's resolve is challenged by Obito

Pairings:
- Sasuke descent towards darkness is witnessed by Karin / Naruto's ascension to the light is witnessed by Sakura
- Sasuke is loved by Sakura / Naruto is loved by Hinata (both girls uninvolved in the journey of said love)

I think about the last.

- Sasuke is loved by Sakura/Ino/Karin / Naruto can be loved by Ino/Sakura/Karin those showed signs that they could love Naruto someday, Ino on the pain's arc (saying that she could love someome like Naruto), Karin when she said (his chakra was so calm and she wanted to be happy like him), and Sakura (lot's of times).

I think Naruto reached the level of Sasuke when it comes to girls but instead of "coolness" being his mark it is his "personality".

Karin and Ino both said those things yes.

and that is what ive said about Naruto and Sasuke and my opinion on where the two will end up at the end of the story. Naruto in the position of hero and respected person, while sasuke is the pariah and the one who has to rebuild the respect and trust of eevryone around him, including the girl he wants to be with--IE karin.

LOL. That is a really awesome prediction though. I can actually see something like that happening. Sakura is so selfless, she probably would think something like that, especially considering how her last confession went... Of course, I'm anxious as heck for NaruSaku, so I want her to tell him now. Having to wait for Naruto to confess, especially knowing that Sakura returns his feelings, would be agony~

I feel this pathetically strong urge to see Kishi do a NaruSaku kiss. A forehead kiss is cute and I'd probably fangirl way too hard to the point I wouldn't recover for several minutes, XD but a real kiss. I know it's a Shonen and kisses aren't usually common but it's just ... the bench scene! Naruto almost kissed Sakura then, can't Kishi finish it for us? If the only kiss I see is the SasuNaru one in Ch. 3 (Which is still hilarious and one of my favorite moments. ), I will be several layers of disappointment.

I also want to finally say Naruto has kissed both of his teammates.

If not the manga, at least let the anime do it. So I have something visually pleasing to look at in NaruSaku AMVs.

I remember when I watched the Inuyasha anime a while back and had no idea it was a manga or what filler was. I squealed when Kagome kissed Inuyasha in the Movie 2 and then when I watched the Final Act in the second kiss, I counted it as canon. I thought it really happened. Then I realize InuKag never had a kiss scene in the manga and all they had was two or three near-kiss scenes. On top of that, InuKik (the pairing I disliked) had at least three on-panel kiss scenes in canon. God, I was so angry at Rumiko Takahashi!

I felt so betrayed by Takahashi and the anime, what I thought actually happened didn't happen at all. It was a terrible feeling. I'm still very happy that I was right and InuKag became canon. It was my first true OTP, I adored it. Nowadays, my love for it has sorta died down now that I know it became canon. It's all NaruSaku now. I can't help wondering if my love for NS will fade away a little too if if becomes canon. . I still have a soft spot for InuKag and like it a lot, though!

I just seriously don't get Takahashi for doing what she did. InuKag is your main pairing, yet you don't let them kiss on-screen at all. Instead, you have InuKik have three kisses on-panel and InuKag gets left in the dark. Hell, even the anime InuKag couldn't beat InuKik's record: Two to three. That's the most annoying thing for me, besides the fact that Kikyo had to die before Inuyasha got with Kagome. I know Inuyasha loved Kagome more than Kikyo by the time of the Final Act, but they will always have that "The only reason Inuyasha got with Kagome is because Kikyo died!" argument. And the panel kisses. Please, for the love of Gawd, Kishi DO NOT make the same mistake by killing Hinata or Sasuke before NaruSaku becomes canon. The SS/NH fandom will make me wanna pull my hair out.

I didn't mind Koga/Kagome. I felt bad for him, because it was terribly obvious Kagome's heart belonged to Inuyasha and not only did he struggle to acknowledge it and admit defeat, he continued his blind affection for her. The only pairing I absolutely hated in Inuyasha was InuKik. Kagome did everything for him, she knew him so much better than Kikyo could ever dream to. It's Kikyo's own fault Inuyasha fell in love with Kagome. She had her chance to be around him but she purposely chose not to. It was Kagome who was always there for Inuyasha no matter what and overlooked his feelings for Kikyo because she wanted his happiness and loved him too much to let him go. The devotion got me, I think. Kagome's love for Inuyasha reminds me of Naruto's love for Sakura. And Koga reminds me of Hinata, lol.

I never knew filler or manga or even fandom until I got into Naruto. That was when I found out everything.

It felt kind of weird going from an anime series loaded with filler to an anime series that followed the canon to a T. LOL. I recommend you read the manga. I used to read it at the library all of the time when I was in high school. It was awesome~
