Just saw this somewhere else.

There does seem to be a pattern with the few couples in this manga. They follow the yin & yang belief of having balance in a relationsip. One partner tends to be dominate. While the other balances them out. Kishimoto seems to like these types of couples.

Asuma(calm/reserved) and Kurenai(aggressive)
Minato(calm/reserved) and Kushina(aggressive)
Dan(calm/reserved) and Tsunade(aggressive)
Konan(calm/reserved) and Yahiko(aggressive)

Couples that fit the parameters in the current timeline.

Hinata(calm/reserved) and Naruto(aggressive)
Shikamaru(calm/reserved) and Temari(aggressive)
Sasuke(calm/reserved when he is back to normal) and Sakura(aggressive)
Choji or Sai(calm/reserved) and Ino(aggressive)

I notice the idea of "balance" is making its way into a lot of shippers arguments. I happen to think Shikamaru x Temari and Choji x Ino will be canon. But not because they balance each other. Nor do I think Naruto x Hinata and Sasuke x Sakura are balanced relationships.

That...is pretty much the reason why they like her so much. Isn't NaruHina really only huge here in the U.S? I've heard Kishi dosen't pay attention to the U.S...can't really blame him as our NH fans are idiots. But if Kishi pays no attention to fanbases in America AND recieves bash mail from SS and NH...would that make those two couples dead in a puddle of their own blood? I mean...threatening the author is NOT a verry good way to get what you want in the story. You're pretty much biting off your own tail there.

If Kishimoto paid attention to fanbases, than Sasuke x Naruto would be canon. While Kakashi and Iruka would be married. So I say he probably ignores them.

I don't really know how popular NaruHina is in Japan. All I know is I can find a ton more Shikamaru x Naruto and Kakashi x Naruto fanart than NaruHina. Yaoi rules Japan.

Naruhina is all about Hinata deserving Naruto cause Sakura's the useless b*tch, outgoing+shy=balance and her treating him like a majesty.

This simplified relationship formula is exactly why NaruHina wouldn't work. And it's used as a justification all the time.

It's this idea that each one has gaps that the other one fills. While that's a nice thought, it's woefully immature. Why fill your gaps? Why better yourself? Why reach farther and mature...when you could just find someone who embodies those things that you won't/don't wnat to improve about yourself.

That's a relationship between two people who love each other only because they see themselves in the other person. Hinata loves Naruto for being what she is not. She says it over and over. He changes her, and she loves that about him.

A mature, reciprocrating relationship is between two people who recognize the other person, their struggles and triumphs, and loves them for it. NaruSaku.

It works in real life too: Ever read Shel Silverstein's "The Missing Piece Meets the Big O"? It's a children's book, but I think it should be required reading for anyone who wants to fall in love. And I think it applies to the NH vs. NS relationship debate as well.

That is the GIST of it actually and more so her fans want HER happiness, not the couple's joint happiness, hers.

Not really. Even though they are Hinata fans, they don't automatically jump ship. They will be "NaruHina" because they want Hinata get Naruto, the main star. If they did jump, we should've seen other Hinata-pairings, such as KibaHina, SasuHina, and even LeeHina, triumphed over NaruHina ages ago.

You got a good point there, Derock. To be honest, I've thought Hinata might be interesting with Kiba for sure since Kiba's a lot like Naruto even if he isn't as Hinata sees as a "proud failure" in spite the fact Naruto's now everyone's hero for his heroism vs. Pain. I do wonder though Hinata's noticed that at first. I get she helped Naruto by almost losing her life, but does she REALLY know how strong Naruto is? This is a guy who beat Neji as well as other strong opponents like Kakuzu and Pain. It kinda is like Rukia's at times lack of faith in Ichigo in Bleach due to her experience mixed with a moe character all into one with Hinata now and again.

This explains the many Hinata X some other male character that isn't Naruto fanfics that has Naruto out of character. I have seen three patterns.
1.) He is in love with Hinata, but Hinata dumps him for a better, stronger guy. (Naruto doesn't deserve her)
2.) He is married/engaged to Hinata but dumps her with her best friend Sakura. (NaruSaku becomes villain for a new prince)
3.) He is married to Sakura but realizes he loves Hinata, dumps Sakura ruthlessly, and tries to gain Hinata's attention. (Suffer Sakura Suffer!)
Cause she deserves the best Sakura is the rebound girl who Naruto dates only because he couldn't gain Hinata's attention.

If Hinata was just happy that Naruto came back, there was no need for Kishi to show two panels of Hinata. One with Hinata happily crying at the sight of Naruto reaching the village alive, and two with Hinata smiling at the sight of Sakura hugging Naruto. I think she was happy with both the fact of Naruto defeating Pein, coming back alive and Naruto getting a hug from Sakura.

Although, I am very curious to where her confidence of being together with Naruto by the end of the war comes from, if she knows that Naruto is in love with Sakura. (You can't be confident of winning the guy who's in love with another girl, unless you are certain you are much more attractive than that girl.)

That's really confusing, actually. I really do think that Hinata shoul either witness them kissing, or just something that remotely lets her OFFICIALLY know that Naruto's just not interested in Hinata.

Although, I am very curious to where her confidence of being together with Naruto by the end of the war comes from, if she knows that Naruto is in love with Sakura. The only thing I can think about, if by some meaning Sakura expline everyone that she have strong feelings for Sasuke but she know her feeling are wrong and she want to do something about Sasuke, she will not allow her best friend to kill himself chasing Sasuke for her.
Since the fool is in love with her she can use that. There was a conversation between Sakura and the Rookies that is still a mystery.
Only that may expline Karin statement about Sakura lovin Sasuke, chapter 540 and Hinata new declaration, Sakura maybe already made things clear to Hinata that Naruto is only a friend her best friend then wish Hinata good luck, this will all make sense if it happen this way, but I really hope that I'm wrong, Very wrong.


Also rimenber that Sakura was all about killing Sasuke, but Karin sence that she loves him, Sakura was very ashamed of her feelling for him. But then Naruto give her hope again and she think that things may go back to the way they were before nothing else will expline she still picturing Sasuke in a romantic light in 540, But then given a hard awaken when the love letter nin told her that he most be a great guy if she love him.

I'm not sure what to say either. They only thing I see is Hinata inside her thoughts dreaming about being with Naruto.

But when it comes to action (when they actually meet), she can't do anything but blush, faint or say what she doesn't mean (well, not exactly this, but she says something while wanting to say something else. I hope I explained myself correctly here)

Plus she has never really found out if he likes her or not (I mean, is it that hard to ask, even if it's indirectly?).

I think Naruto is gonna have to gently turn her down... Or I don't know? I mean, he loves Sakura. He would of said something to Hinata that gave her the impression he was interested i mean he knew she confessed and stuff..
or Sakura/Hinata are gonna fight.

This manga is driven by popularity, we all know that Naruto will be the one that redeem Sasuke, so why make Sasuke and Itachi cross road, to then have Itachi running away... the only thing I can think off is Fans are eager to see the brothers, there is no other reason if they meet is because Itachi will make a final declaration after Sasuke fight with Naruto that will change Sasuke's mind. Naruto try three timaes and fail, what will be the difference the fourth time.
Itachi's last word...

But what happen fans are too eager to see Sasuke and Itachi and Kishi make it happen...
This Manga is driven by fan and Kishi doesn't want to lose readers he focus too much on his fan that sometimes the Manga doesen't make sense. Why remind the reader all the time that Hinata purpose is to live and think about Naruto all the time, only if you want to keep the two biggest fanbase reading your Manga.
