I love me some NaLu, but I love Erza/Jellal for different reasons. NaLu is two clueless dolts who need to figure their stuff out, but Erza/Jellal is a much more emotional, painful thing.

I can see some of the appeal of Erza/Natsu, though. Especially that swoony rescue scene. But I think she's always viewed him like a cute, annoying little brother. Same with her and Gray.


Even if I don't believe Natsu/Erza is a real option, I can't stand Erza/Jellal in the same way I can't stand Sakura/Sasuke.

Well, at least Jellal wasn't an bastard by free will, unlike Sasuke, and unlike Sasuke and Sakura, Jellal and Erza have lot of story together way back when they were kids, it's actually nice to see an couple that haves an real development before becoming official. But still, Jellal being all melancholic is starting to get pretty irritating.

In what way? As alexander said, Erza/Jellal have at least mutual feelings for each other. I don't see the similarities. Or you talking about general dislike?

I'm talking about how one tried to kill the other and the overall tone of their relationship is very angsty.

no, he didn't exactly try to kill her. if i remember correctly, he got possessed by Ultear.(pretty sure its ultear) so it wasnt his will to kill her, he couldn't control himself. and im not saying this cuz i like the couple, in fact i don't really care for it.

Well, that's an ok chapter, its just one of those buildup to the competition chapters, and for what's it worth, what's there is fine.

Juvia definitely becoming more bold, she's stopped wearing the overcoat, and actually asked Gray out. Gray claiming Juvia was his was interesting is he finally showing intert in the girl.

Poor Juvia you'd think she'd be happy Gray was fighting over her but is confused with the rivalry.

So these Dragon Slayers not only defeated their parents but also absorbed their lacrema? intersting.

I'm actually pretty pleased with this chapter. Especially Bisca and Alzack's baby girl sitting on Makarov's head in the beginning. The Gray/Juvia development was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. I think he's finally decided that it's okay to ship a little, even in a shounen series, and he's settled down on who gets who. If Lucy/Natsu goes anywhere, alas, it won't be until near the end of the manga...

I think it was more obvious during the S-class trial where he showed us 2 additional pairings: Gajeel/Levy and Elfman/Evergreen.

Yeah he does appear to like to pair off his charactors, even his last manga had it, specially the main two leads. From what I can gather the pairings so far are Erza/Jillal, Gray/Juvia, Gajeel/Levy, Elfman/evergreen, Happy/Charle, I think he's hinted towards, Mira/Freed, and even though Lucy/Natsu also seems to be given, the fact Lisanna reappeared does put a possible question mark over that pairing...ofcourse the whole purpose of the timeskip is Wendy/Romeo pairing being possible so can't forget that, and ofcourse we have the spirit world pairings as well.

I think I'd prefer if he didn't just try to match everyone up. Seems too easy for the most part.

So is Charle's name now Carla? Wish the names were easier XD The translators are always changing them.

Yeah pair off too many characters and fans will eventually start complaining the wanted X with Y, Q with R, A with B, etc.

Ehhh, its a so-so chapter, I was kinda hoping that the maze part would last another chapter or so, just to really get the cliffhanger effect going. Well, I, too, wonder what's going to happen with Wendy. Probably got kidnapped or something.

i guess that chapter was okay, but hopefully next weeks chapter is a bit more exciting and so are the other ones. haha that was funny when Lucy imagined Wendy as like a hooker or something haha
