X-Men: First Class: 9/10
Saw both movies yesterday. GL was just a storytelling mess. Some parts were rushed, other parts were just not explained. I don't know much about the GL history, just know what I've seen from the two animated movies and both of them were better than this film. I understand completely why it was panned.
X-men surprised me a lot. Had a very dynamic plot. A lot of action, but the pacing for the story was good. Great performances from James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and yes Kevin Bacon. Thoroughly enjoyed this movie, would recommend it to everyone. GL, I'd suggest rental, maybe bootleg.

The plot was surprisingly smooth, and paced very well. They did a phenomenal job with Xavier and Magneto. Their motivations, their strengths, weaknesses and mistakes, all presented in a satisfying way. The "first class" of mutants also were played well, very believable and no glaring bad performances from any of the actors or actresses. And by the end of the film, you learn to sympathize with Magneto's logic, whether you'd back it or not. This is by far the BEST X-men film to date. And so far the best superhero movie of the summer ( although Thor was also excellent.)

Hate the "Bayformers" or love it, the third one HAS to be THE best of the trilogy. It's actually more plot-heavy when compared to the second movie, but that led to less focus on the epic fights that was the hallmark of Revenge of the Fallen. The new girl actually DOES have adequate acting ability and she's a lot hotter than I thought. Still, the action was still epic, particularly the ending. Also, Optimus Prime is a lot more brutal in the ending. If you're a fan of the Bayformers, you'll love this one. If you weren't happy with the 2nd one, but thought the 1st was ok, then you might enjoy the last. I give this a 4.5/5 on account of less action.

A fun and allaround good brain candy movie. if you enjoy Superhero movies youll crack up and have a great time. A few minor plot holes and a slightly disjointed story are more then made up for by greta action and effects, and a solid pacing that keeps you rolling along.
Ryan reynolds does a great job as Hal Jordan with out the stick shoved up his rectum that the comic version has. And is believable as a normal flawed human trying to rectify this great power and responsibility he finds thrus tupon him.
All told an enjoyable and well worth it 2 hours spent and a movie I will own on DVD when it comes.

After the last film, Michael really had no where to go but up, and he delivers in the way that he can. This film boasts a much more coherent plot/threat than the last one and the threat is on a larger and more urget scale than the first one. Things aren't perfect, there are still cybertron-size plot holes and out-of-character choices, but it's much better than the last two.
I gotta give props to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, I thought she would be a giant void anytime anything had to do with her, and to my surprise, she's actually a better actress than Fox. Although to be fair, she's also given more to do in this film.
The action in this film is great and I can't wait to see it non-3D so the motion is not blurred, because the fights are more visible instead of it just being one giant ball of parts rolling across the scene. Of the three films this is by far the best, so in a twisted way, it's one of the few films that beats the third time out blues with anything trilogy-wise.
That said, anyone who believes these films are children's movies (even after the wrecking ball scene from the last one) will hopefully realize they are woefully wrong Optimus does some pretty shady things in the final battle. This is a spectacle film, though I can't recommend 3-D or IMAX as I've never been one to think a bigger screen makes a film better, and 3-D well... I still hate it, but this film has the best 3-D I've seen so far.
Bay has stated this is his last. There are going to be more films, but someone else is going to helm them. I hope they concentrate more on the Autobots next time around.

I wish I could give this movie a better review, but I just can't, I actually felt like giving an worse review, but there were some little things on the movie that sttoped me from doing so. Well, were do I start? The movie is called transformers right? So why the hell they become the main focus of the plot for about 30% of the movie? Dark of the Moon biggest flaw is the unecessary atention given to the human characters, they just have too much screentime, and I couldn't care less about half of the things that happened to them in the movie, I think the main focus of the movie should be the transformers, with the humans as background characters, and not the opposite. The other thing that really made me raise an eyebrown was poor way they portrayed Megatron, he aways had been the main focus as the villain, but here, he is portrayed as weak and a pathetic fallen enemy, what happened to the trend of Megatron being the ultimate badass? Megatron on war of Cybertron was an hundred times better then the one they showed here, now that was an badass guy, and don't let me get started on his final confrontation with Optimus. The movie still gives some nice action scenes and special effects. But still, I think Bay failed to redeem himself in making a better Transformers movie.

A well done movie and a worthy finale to the series. great pacing and epic effects and a solid story make for an enjoyable 2 hours. Also some heart warming and even a tear jerker monment or 2, Professor snapes final moments are among those.
minor quibbles and the only thing keeing it from being a 10 is that I feel the directors went for flash over substance a bit. they shorted several --to me-- important pieces of dialogue and exposition like the scene between harry and dumbledore in kings cross, and the final battle between harry and Voldemort is expanded on visually but loses some of the impact the book gave it.

A fun and interesting take on what happens when a down and out writer takes a pill that suddenly opens up the access to his brains full potential, and how even great intellect doesnt always equal the best choices.

An exellent wlel done movie with great pacingt, character development, deep rich characters and solid action and effects. The action scenes suprisingly enough seem a little weak or understated to me but its a minor quibble at ebst.
look for easter eggs throughout the movie, and stay all the way through the end credits for a real treat.
higly enjoyable and highly reccomended

This takes it's source material seriously while having fun and making me the newest Captain America fan. Also, thank god that even though the romance plays an important role in this film, it doesn't weigh it down or concentrate on it too much. Peggy Carter is never the damsel in distress nor does she need to be saved. She also plays an active role in everything instead of just being brushed to the side when not making the hero sigh. I'm also very glad that there is not one second in which this film becomes a 'America is better than every other country' film.
Cowboys and Aliens 6/10
Honestly, I don't know how I feel about this film. I can appreciate, and very often prefer it when people approach their films in a serious fashion, like "this is actually how it would be," but when your film is titled Cowboys & Aliens, people go into it expecting a certain level of fun. This film was an all-serious film. It's, at it's core, a pretty straight-forward old-west film, by the books, but… with aliens. Don't get me wrong, it does really seem like it is how it would actually be if aliens suddenly showed up in the old west, but this film is void of any… coolness (accept for his arm-gun), joy or fantasticalness. Maybe it's because the people just suddenly accept everything and start off on their rescue mission like they're going after a regular group of thugs who robbed a bank. Other than one scene, they didn't really seem amazed so in turn I was like… meh. Right now, that's generally how I feel about this movie which is sad, I really wanted to have fun and to like it.
HPatDHp2 6/10
Not having read the books, of all the Harry Potter films, I was the most excited for this one and man did it disappoint. There was absolutely no reason to separate this book into two films. None! Cut out the fat and the giant dead air and these two films could've made for a tighter single film. But that's not what irked me the most.
As you can tell, I was extremely disappointed and unappeased. The only films in the entire series that I recommend to anyone is Prisoner of Azkaban (which I know people who read the book hated, but as a film it's the best one) and The Order of the Phoenix.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes 8/10
Seriously the title alone may keep people away. It's kind of a long title. But... this film is everything you've heard, but at least it lives up to what is said. Almost all of the best moments in the film have no dialogue whatsoever. Serkis does a great job of portraying Caesar, the film's simeon protagonist, he does it so well that it builds perfectly to an awesome moment between him and Draco Malfoy. I kid you not, pottertards, Tom Felton is in this movie. He even has a magic wand of sorts in this film. It's of note that once again Serkis plays a CGI character who bites off another character's finger and Felton once again plays an ass. Also of note, is that the CGI apes, are pretty spot on and this has some of the best CGI work I've ever seen. Great action and great characterizations by all the motion capture actors.

Best movie of the summer, hands down, which is surprising. The trailer made it look kind of stupid, but it was anything but stupid. The trailer was EXTREMELY misleading. The movie is NOT about a bunch of monkeys killing people; if it was, I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it. This movie was a good one that I thoroughly enjoyed. If your main reason for not seeing this movie is the trailer, read this very carefully: THE MOVIE IS NOTHING LIKE THE TRAILER!
I won't say much more, for the sake of possible spoilers, but I'll finish with this: Caeser is one BAD-ASS character.

Honestly I loved this film. It was a very honest portrayal of what would happen if ordinary people were given powers. In my honest opinion I think this film beats out a lot of the super hero movies made in the past few years. I don't want to say too much because well I'd like others to go see it. I think everyone on this site would love it.

Watch it before you judge. If you view it as an origin story, then yeah I really beats out a lot of other super power/ super hero movies.
