Well the new korra came out and there was a lot of stuff this episode. Still glad the humor comes about.
Note the portion below is a spoiler so don't click it if you want to wait

Asami is such a sympathetic character.
Also the hatred for this show has gotten so bad that theres a anti bryke (mike and bryan) tag on tumblr.

This post explains how asami works in the plot its interesting yet sad that her character being treated this way.
For this episode i was neutral about it i liked the boat fighting scene, verrick really interests me now and korra losing her memory might lead to an interesting plot.

can you blame them??
Korra has been acting like a jerk
Bolin is now a rich snob
Asami is becoming a love interest character again
and all this to make Mako look good.
I understand some haters being illogical.....but it's only illogical if it's a good show, the ratings dropping for Legend of Korra is proving that it's getting bad.

I don't think Asami is becoming a love interest again, the kiss was meant to show that she reached her weakest point and seeked safety from Mako. I wonder what they'll do with the kiss though, if Korra finds out and she gets angry....then it'll be the worst.
But Bolin..I agree there. He also kissed that actress? Who was also a snob..but she ditched him and now it is portrayed comically as "Bolin can not get a girl buhu so funny".
And Mako, I think we need to give him a chance. Maybe they were just trying to develop his character? Surely they had to degrade everyone else, even Lin was portrayed terrible. :( but..well at least they tried.

About the ratings the reason why it haven't been doing well is because the time slot that Nickelodeon gave to korra is usually a death slot of a tv show from what i heard from people. So they decided to move korra to 8:30 however that didn't even help improve the ratings instead it decreased it further. The quality of the show could be another reason why people turn away from this show. Not to many i follow in tumblr even watched korra anymore or they just watch it to critique it.

That may be true, though also, I heard the advertisements are much weaker than Avatar. With Avatar, they make it seem like DBZ in Toonami back in 90s, where there was new episodes all weekdays. Avatar was getting walking dead if compared to recent shows. LoK is like getting ps3 exclusive titles (save from Last of Us), it's there but hardly everyone knows. So yeah, it's tough for them.

A pretty good episode I thought. I actually love how Varrick is not at all what he seems, totally eccentric on the outside, but conniving double-crosser on the inside who's really just looking out for himself and his own interests. Also agree that I'm not really happy with what has been done with Bolin's character (though I will admit I did laugh), honestly though I can't take him the least bit seriously, not at all like Sokka, who was so much more than comic relief. I think Asami truly is the most sympathetic character here, I want so badly to see her succeed. I find the ending a bit cliché though, with Korra losing her memory, but I'll wait to see where it goes.

This was a fun episode.
Kinda figured Verrick was a sort of bad guy.
Well I don't like Bolin as an actor, still I found him funny and I think he is slowly coming into the plot of Mako's investigation.
I wonder if the pairing wars will go up again with just that kiss.
Loved Mako this episode though I don't think they are really bringing every other character down to make him better.
I wonder if Korra will get her memory back in the next episode or it comes slowly every episode.

Thoughts about Mako, Varrick and Korra;
First of all, the other characters had to be degraded so Mako could shine. That happens a lot when writers are put in the corner. I don't blame Mako, I think we should give credit to him. But I think it's pretty obvious by this episode that the creators have a hard time writing him.
It really was bad writing because pretty much every character reached their weakest point and was against him(even heroes like Lin!!), just so Mako could take the lead and play the hero role.
Lets hope he gets help; Asami and maybe Bolin(yeah I'm saying maybe) will go against Varrick, and Mako finally has evidence..but I fear that Lin is tired of hearing his so called 'detective theories'.
I'm really interested in Varrick as a villain. I kinda figured the one responsible for the bombing must be one we already know, since the writers made such a big fuss about it. Varrick was such a great asset to the team and I thought he would play a big part in claiming the south's victory. This made my thoughts about this more complicated, which personally I think is a good thing.
Now that we've seen Varrick's true colours, I wonder if he'll keep his comedic attitude or if we'll see more of the face we saw in the ending..loved that face. It looked like he was saying "It's too late", which makes me wonder what Asami signed up for. Because I don't remember.
I also wonder about his assistant's innocence. She warned him about the bombings he was responsible for, so it's possible I hope she helps out Team Avatar. And she's way too submissive to Varrick, who been such a kitten to her she must step up her game. I feel like she was just there so Varrick's personality could be expanded on, please don't let this be the case. She could also be of great help, she has probably access to a lot of Varrick's secret files! :)
Hopefully either past Avatars or Zuko's family will knock some sense into Korra, because seriously this girl has no problem with starting a civil war over family issues. I know that's not the cause of it, but it's what triggered her decision. And those who are against civil war, are apparently against her too.

Very well said, especially about Mako. And I recall the deal was that Varrick bought a controlling interest in Asami's company. I also like the idea of the assistant, (Joo Lee? I think), might turn against Varrick, he deserves no less.

One more thing, I kinda get the Hiroshi-vipes from Varrick.
Come on, you gotta see the resemblance! I think the writers are empty for ideas.
I don't blame them though, I completely agree with what 4life said some pages ago; They laid out all they had on the table 8 years ago.
I would argue that the Hiroshi reveal was done much better though. Lin had no problem with investigating an huge private area, but now she draws the conclusion that it's the northern watertribe without any clues. Not to mention the teamwork was done well too. :'(

Yeah, they've not done much that I'd consider very original, in many ways it feels like they're just recycling. When it comes down to it, I actually enjoy the Avatar comics with the original cast more than Korra's story, I'm much more invested into those characters than these ones. That's just me though.
