Ha, I personaly don't really mind Korra with Mako, kind of matches... in a way.... I don't know, it just gives me a nice vibe. Besides, I just tend to ignore fandom forums anyway, shipping is the only thing they know to talk about anyway. And isn't this an oportunity Kushina? You once said that you like male tsunderes, maybe Mako will fall in that type of character? He looks really look the type.

Mm, I said I was interested in male tsunderes; after finding some, I've gotta admit that the only thing I really liked about them is the atypical shyness that you don't normally find in non-tsundere male characters. Other than that...meh lol

As I said, the idea of Korra/Mako isn't....horrible, I guess--I can see how they'd work together--but at the same time that may be part of why this makes me groan: I feel like their relationship wouldn't hold many surprises. Between that and the fact that I'd prefer this show to not bother with romance between the main characters, I'm disappointed.

LOL Oh I most definitely am! (Though I'll admit I lean a bit more towards character development.) But because of that, I can be very picky about what I accept as worthwhile for myself. As said, I love Legend of Korra so far: I love the characters, the possibilities of plot, the environment, most of the legacy behind it, etc. Which is why I think a romance between Korra and Mako--if done too soon, or made too predictable for their characters/personalities--could muck it all up for me.

Oh, I can relate to that, it's similar to Zuko romance with that other girl wich I can't remember the name, it felt so cheesy that I got annoyed every time they appeared togheter. But to me so far so good, Korra and Mako development is the typical "rocky start in the begining only to warm up to each other later". I guess we can only hope things turn out ok in the end.

Ohh I really hope this doesn't turn out like Zuko and Mai--I liked both of them as individual characters; was bored to tears every time they were together.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see and maybe pray to the animation gods for help.

I have to say I aways found Mai character quite interesting, and how she was so serious and straight foward, but once her romance with Zuko started, her character just fell apart, it was just... so dull. I can actually see why you feel kind of worried about this development, but I don't think the avatar staff is stupid enough to screw up the romance of the main character, out of all people.

I liked her character all the way through to the end--except for when she was with Zuko. When she wasn't with him? Quiet, serious, but loyal and a badass.

Her romance with Zuko isn't the only thing making me worry, though--I never cared for Katara/Aang either. The only pairing I really liked was Sokka/Suki, and they were minor characters with a romance that never took centerstage. *shrug* Waiting for more than the first two episodes to be out is the thing to do, of course, but I'll be keepin' my eyes open for more on the Korra/Mako thing.

Haha, you're telling me XD My only luck with this right now is that 1) the essay is pretty easy, shouldn't take too long, and doesn't require much eloquence, and 2) I don't have to get up 'til 9am or so tomorrow, so I have a few early hours to spare.
