Whoever told that is a morally deficient and inept cretin. I'm sorry human beings like this exist and I'm deeply sorry you had to encounter one. This is a manga, and nobody with half a sane mind should ever think to behave this way with somebody else.
Please don't feel horrible, not on their account.
It's sad really and that's what I try and point out to others but all I get in turn is that I'm butthurt because my pairing lost. It's insane really, like all my words go unheard, but it's all good, I don't let them get to me, but dear god it can get tiresome.
Geh, finally saw this, but yes. YES. I'm lucky that I really don't get NH/SSers on my tumblr unless its a wild sighting or something, but these guys have been RIDICULOUS, taking screenies, starting petitions, saying we should be killed, harassing other people on tumblr, but WE'RE the ones who need to be ashamed?
We just want to be safe and do our own thing. We just want to recover and if that means ignoring the BS canon we were gifted with, thats our right. We don't need to like it, we have to accept that it happened and not argue that it didn't, but we don't have to be like "Oh well, NH and SS are canon, guess I'll throw NS out the window!" which many of them WANT us to do.
Fact is, they know it sucked and they need the validation of the ship with more development to feel okay about being "happy" with what they got, but they will NEVER EVER get it from us, so sucks for them.
Keep reminding them of that little fact. "You just want drama to make yourself feel better about it and I am not giving it to you. Congrats on having a sh*tty canon couple now see your way out of my space." is all you need to say.
My husband told me the other day that every person that does that is just insecure with themselves and their apparent perfect pairing. People who need to insult others do it to just reassure themselves.
