Sakura sounds more like the trophy than Sasuke apparently ever was when you put it like this...Or maybe its meaning is underscoring that Sasuke is to be respected. (Like even though he's outside of the village there are still people who will protect him.) Sakura is free to do her own thing, but nobody messes with her man.
Anyway, if I'm understanding the implications right, that it's an old-fashioned term of connection, there's got to be a reason why it's there instead of 'honey' or 'love' or 'sweetheart,' or something more personal.
And my bet is that if it immediately draws to mind a geisha/master reference for Japanese speakers, then it's meant to be a statement that it's like an old-fashioned relationship.
I don't know. These are all hunches. It's just a weird term, there must be a reason for it. And maybe as English speakers, most of us aren't getting it.

To go out on a limb here, that term could be reinforcing the idea that Sasuke is a like a wandering samurai of old, off doing his important biznezz, while Sakura is the strong wife who stays at home and runs the family, taking care of everything and tacitly supporting her husband from afar.
It's a bit of a stereotype, but I don't think Kishimoto's digging real deep here. Anyway, maybe the term isn't meant so much as a put-down for Sakura as it is to define Sasuke's role like that of an old fashioned samurai.
Yeah, I don't think he has the skills to do that really, Tricks.

Seconded, Swag, and proves my theory about Sasuke only marrying Sakura to stick it to Naruto is more plausible, since it's obvious Naruto still has feelings for Sakura, in spite of what SP claimed with The Last and their bull.

I feel like keeping up with his fans did more harm than good.
Your right but at the same time he should have at least try to find constructive criticism about the character sakura and other plot issues/characters. Rather than depending on extreme anti fans. Or even better, try not to be a naive doormat that relies on any fans for creative input for your own story.
Maybe he oughtta learn how to differentiate between Fans and fanboys
Yup.

If Sakura married Naruto it would have been a happy and healthy marriage. They would treat each other as equals. And their kids would be the cutest.
True. But Sakura would probably still be a housewife. That's just how Kishi thinks

I know but she would still be happier with Naruto cause he treats her right.

I just gave up on Naruto, it's nothing more but nonsense, no point to think about the what ifs or anything like IT, all it is now is trash and that's what it will be from now on
It is the IT. Kishi just decided the make the canon storyline in the IT. How the heck did they have the technology to have smartphones in TL just two years after the war. The technology advancement is way too illogical. Nevertheless they having smart phones way before the skyscrapers came out when it should be the opposite.

"My name is Sung Ji-woo. Some called me the Assassin of Death. A Necromancer Deity... My journey has been nothing but walking over a mountain of corpses. My legion of the dead reigns supreme. None shall block my way or... face the wrath of my blades!" --Solo Leveling.
