This movie is just inundated with Hinataish material in every nook and cranny. Romantic aspirations are endangered with the introduction of a man descended from an ancient line of celestial guardians. Personal social anxiety and the inner workings of her single-minded psyche directed at Naruto is being advertised like the plague. The Hyuga clan is at the forefront of everything with a tragic destiny that was never alluded to once in the manga or any other important material from the author. I'm sorry, but what incentive does anyone who isn't a subscribed member of the Hyuga/Hinata club have to give any kind of attention to this movie? From the slanted nature of the publicity thus far, hand-waving of the prospect for giving any information about other characters out, the perverse abandonment of the long established heroine, Sakura, just to senselessly accommodate a personal favourite character, what possible motive could we have to watch this movie? None!
It's ironic how all of this turning out because Kishi originally promised to dedicate the focus of the plot to Sakura after Kakashi's story was wrapped up. But his conflict with childhood friends-turned-mass murdering terrorist/disciple of Madara concluded over a whole volume's worth of content ago. Where's the screen-time that was promised? Nowhere. Instead we shift immediately to the final fight of the manga, then shortly afterwards it's been confirmed that the final movie of the Naruto series is being dedicated to the generic lovestruck side character and her non-existent clan - because obviously their needs, which have been totally neglected until now, take precedence over fulfilling your promise to give your own heroine the attention and detail she needs and deserves.
You guys are right. This movie is BS.
