I am saddened by the fact that the Sakura hate so prevalent on other forums has seemingly made its way here as well. I have read the manga backwards and forwards and I don't see the issues raised here.

Sakura is a realistic and yes, likable character

Definitely. Of the kids in part 1 I found her the most likeable actually. She seemed, as Kishimoto, intended, the most normal character. Although I never fangirled over any boy- (having an older brother, a second wave feminist mother, and being a feminist myself, boys were nothing to squeal about, just people, same as girls and women.) I identified with her feelings of low self esteem, despite being an intelligent young lady, and being the object of other students bullying about an aspect of my appearence....

People don't hate Sakura if we are honest with ourself, no one expect her to still have romantic affection for Sasuke, not after Sasuke been so stup*d.
We still believe in NS otherwise why waist our time here if we don't believe in the pairing? But there is nothing wrong in loving something and been a little hurt and why hurt because loving this man after what happen made many NS fans rage.

Like the guy above me said, I think it all depends on how the Sasuke situation is played out.

How things work out with Sasuke? who is Sasuke? NS don't need to wait and see what happen with Sasuke. Naruto and Sakura should resolve things after they face each other in the up coming reunion, Sasuke should be non-factor between them.

i dont hate her , i like her but u must understand the other side too , she is a good character she is the most realistic character of naruto.

but she comitted a lot of errors and despite being the heroine she still lacks(some virtues of main heroine's)and she hanst proved that she is the main heroine and i think kishi should prove it soon

I think 474 made it clear that Naruto knew Sakura really meant it when she said she had fallen in love with him, that wasn't the problem, it was the combo of his irritation at her self-delusion that she had absolutely no feelings for Sasuke whatsoever, not even a team mate bond, and his own self-delusion that made him still see her as the unattainable 12 year Sasuke fangirl, not even the girl who came to him when she was emotionally traumatized at 13, much less the much stronger young woman she is now. I think he decided that Sakura was in love with both himself and Sasuke. Look at Naruto's vastly different mental images of Sakura in chapter 474. When Sai gently chides him about how he knew Sakura meant what she said about about having fallen in love with Naruto, Naruto has a mental image of a serious faced Sakura as she is now, and looked a bit ashamed for his behavior to her. When he begins to insist about her love for Sasuke, the mental picture he has of Sakura is the unattainable 12 year Sasuke fangirl, not the very willing young woman she is now that confessed her love to Naruto. Sai's words finally broke Naruto's own delusional image of an unchanged Sakura. Their actions immediately after Naruto's rescue of her from Sasuke had a real vibe of mutual romantic intimacy. His mental image of her when he's talking about wishing he could introduce his friends to his mother also reflects this change. Naruto sees Sakura as being completely focused on him with a openly loving look.

Naruto did do some emotional damage to Sakura by his words and actions when she confessed. It made her old problem of a low self-image reassert itself as she trashed herself for still having any feelings for Sasuke, despite thinking she had eliminated all of it. Look what holds her back from being able to stab Sasuke- her memory of him as the 12 year old on Team 7. But when she is emotionally tearing herself down in 540 she's seeing the monster Sasuke has become and thinking how horrible a person she must be to have some lingering feelings for such a terrible person. Someone needs to tell her what she is tearing herself down for isn't the thing makes her feel sick and ashamed of herself, it's just that emotional bonds, even when unwanted, are not so easy to get rid of. Tsunade would actually be a great person to talk to Sakura about that. Tsunade still felt an emotional bond to Orochimaru, despite her telling herself that she had "never liked or trusted Orochimaru. She and Jiraiya both mourned Orochimaru's death, and Tsunade fondly recalled when all three of the Sanin were young Genin together...

Speaking of that Jump Alpha interview, did anyone notice that he said a recent favorite movie of his was "How to train your dragon"? I only mention it because part of the movie dwells on how the main guy had a crush on the main girl while she didn't think too highly of him at the start, sound familiar? And as the story develops the girl gets to know him a little better and slowly begins to like him, sound familiar?

I know it's a big stretch of thought, but who know? Maybe Kishi has a certain preference when it comes to romantic development.

Is hard not to love that movie.

I don't hate Sakura at all and I really love how she is. She's average compared to her peers in some cases, but of course, I think that's intentional.

She is realistic, she faces real problems that people her age do. Not the ninja stuff exactly, but the romance perspective. Even though in the real world adults write that off as puppy love or not real. -But it isn't the real world, this is manga, love is love- She makes mistakes, just like we do. You'd be lying if you say you have never made a bad decision in your lives, why must Sakura be perfect? She's realistic, so she'll have flaws she'll have to deal with just like everyone else. Perfect characters are boring.

Just like any other form of media or even in real life, I like to dissect the situation and thing of possible outcomes or reasoning. Some uber celebrity worshipers do this to a super extreme -though celebrities are far less interesting honestly-

I don't mind what Kishi is doing, it's part of the story. I don't think Naruto is going to give up Sakura for her confusion, that would be... well I don't know what that would be, but I can't see it happening. I'm sure Kishi isn't writing his story blindly and you're supposed to ask questions, but you're also supposed to understand that what Sakura is doing is intentional -as in, Kishi is doing it on purpose-. There's a reason for you and you need to read between the lines.

As for her love for Sasuke, I said before that even if you loved someone for a while, even if you grow to hate them, you can't truly get over what you felt before just like that. I've had a friend of two in the past that betrayed my trust and revealed my secrets over and over again, but I was unwilling to let go of the friendship that easily so I continued the trust until they stopped talking to me completely. Silly desperate middle school me.

Sorry to be repetitive, but Sakura is pretty realistic in many cases, so she'll have the issue of just letting things go too. Naruto had trouble letting go of Jiraiya's death for a while and the hatred that came along with it, but when it came down to it, do or die, he gave it up somewhat. As I said a while ago, I think Sakura's decision will come at a time of climax pretty much, and in the end, I think she will give up or finally let go of feelings for Sasuke, or finally decide to walk the path of letting it go.

And Sasuke probably will too someday, but I think he misses his cues way too much.

naruto knew that sakura was hidding something..
he did not believe sakura's words he knew that "something fishy" but he did not know why?
sai had to told him, and naruto himself said this "she loves sasuke too much" despite knowing her true feelings then sai said "because she loves him she does not want him to pursue that path even if she had to kill him"
this touched naruto , sakura could not kill sasuke cuz she still had feelings for him, i agree that sakura has feelings for naruto but she does not know what those feelings means ,

At first time she was damaged by naruto's words and decided to abandon that plan left her allies behind when at first time she wanted to go with sasuke , but when sasuke told her that she needs to kill karin to stay with him she relucted she does not wanted to do that , sasuke realized that and tried to kill her.
When i saw this it proved to me that she loves naruto , because she finds her limit she could not do anything for sasuke like she would do before she had feelings for naruto.
In 540 she thinks on sasuke not naruto , because she still thinks on sasuke because of naruto ( she thinks that "we will be team 7 again")
she still not moved on because of naruto

Naruto never denied that Sakura loves him. He denied her statement that she doesn't care about Sasuke anymore.

I believe Naruto does know that Sakura loves him to some extent. Also, your statistics are all off unless you're counting just western fans. Elsewhere, NS is dominant I'm pretty sure.

Yeah, in Japan narusaku is much more popular than naruhina. Sasusaku is the top hetrosexual Team 7 related ship but it's been declining a bit since part 2 started- partly due to the storyline and also partly due to the part 2 ship of sasukar. Karin is more popular in Japan than in the west. Narusaku has risen a bit (Sakura remains much more popular in Japan than in the west). Amongst the much smaller percentage of Hinata fans in Japan than in the west, there are far more nejihina shippers than naruhina.

I'm sure is pretty close, but that don't matter. Kishimoto is making the manga his own way. 98% sure Kishimoto is a NS fan 1% he is a NH/SS fan and 1% he isn't a fan of any pairings.

People behave as if Sasuke will magically say Sakura now that I'm good again lets forget the past, forget that I hurt your feeling, forget that I try to kill you, forget that I promise that I will murder everyone you ever care about, you still have feeling for me so let make out. People speaking like they are Kishimoto posting on threads hinting SS.
They say NaruSaku will never happen because Sakura doesn't love Naruto, at lease she really care about him just like Naruto care about Hinata, can you say the same about Sasuke? Isn't he trying to kill the girl enough for people to stop being that overconfident? He made it clear the last time we see him. He wants to destroy Konoha he doesn't give a kitten about Sakura, he doesn't care about any character only the Uchiha clan and Itachi, this logic about Sakura will never love Naruto but SS will happen that is really stup*d, SS has five big problems:
-Naruto will save him, Sakura has zero influence on him.
-Zero trust.
-Murder attempt.
-Sakura no longer forces a relationship with him.
-Sasuke doesn't care about anyone and giving the chance he will kill any Konoha citizen that try to face him
-Additionaly he doesn't love her.

So unless someone is Kishimoto in disguise shipping SS them is tremendously obvious that SS is the lease likeable paring to happen, proven by the Manga itself not by shippers.
