Truth be told, I was upset that SP tried to make the series way too serious than it really needed to be. While I do appreciate for omakes, the fact that normal episodes don't have any comical scenery. Like going back to the old volumes, the facial expressions and mood were missing in the anime, which is disappointing. I mean I like how Touka had to accept Kaneki since Yoshimura told her so, so she's like alright, only to look at Kaneki with a kill face. Not to mention, there were a lot of Kaneki being more than a helpless puppy with his own charisma.

So yeah, anime butchered it greatly.

The anime made the everything less dark and the kagune not so impressive to me, they only seem to work on well is the background and opening/endings, the soundtrack while good, I felt they put it in unnecessary places and repeated glassy sky so many times when it doesn't need to...SP needs to stop and just keep Naruto

Yeah, I knew that they played the same soundtrack a lot of times in season 1. Season 2, well I don't remember repeating a lot, so that was the only part that's been "fixed". Other than that, train wreck. Anime did make it less dark, yet don't have comedy expressions or anything. When was the last time you see it? The time with Touka threatened Kaneki to show up on time. That's the last time. Everything else beyond that was all so serious yet not dark tone. It's so misdirected. I knew it was something wrong when Amon got rejected by Akira, but anime made it sure we don't see Amon's expression because in manga, it was comedy.

Playing the devil advocate here... I can say that the anime at least did it's job. It made people more interested in the franchise and in the new series, most likely :Re's  announcement was a direct byproduct of the anime success

Yes, it did its job. Now, like FMAB and HxH, we want a heart dedication to the manga adaptation because when you do that, it's hard to debate on which is better.

Lol. Well, sometimes, I do get the feeling Akira will meet Touka. After all, I feel like Ishida won't miss the opportunity of true awkwardness.

Looks like USA is making TG and OPM going head-to-head with each other. Now, TG is number 1 again. This is for once fun. Unlike seeing that crappy overrated series that has been a shell of former self in there, this one is fun to follow.
