I also really like how Sakura still cares for Sasuke, no matter what he does. It's like Sasuke pushes that love all the way to its limits, tests it in so many ways (like, you know, almost killing her) and yet she still loves him. Same with Naruto: no matter what Sasuke does, Naruto still cares for him. It is hard to say whether this is a good thing or bad thing. It can be seen either way. On the other hand Naruto and Sakura give Sasuke a second chance and still believe in him and by doing so give him a place to go back to, a home. On the other hand this kind of love can be really unhealthy and cause genuine harm. I like how SS and NaruSasu sort of dance around the line between good things and bad things.

I mean why else would Kishi make her love Sasuke for such a long time? It just makes Sakura a stronger character. I don't quite understand Sakura's love for Sasuke to be honest and how I progressed to true "love" but nonetheless it's love and it's strong. I think even Sasuke acknowledges it in a way. I personally think that Naruto will end up with Sakura or at least reject Hinata in time... Sakura is strong enough to love Sasuke for this amount of time, therefore, she is strong enough to let him go. However... my prediction is that Sasuke will not be killed off in the end (I MEAN THE END OF THE UCHIHAS Q___Q.. KISHI-SENSEI....I hope you don't do that. </3) So... he would need a potential wife... but ... Like the village is most likely to shun him and he'd just be another "naruto" when he was a child. Shuned and seen as a monster. But the only people who would accept him would be Sakura and Naruto (Or/and hinata.. LOL crack shipping time!) So, maybe Sakura would be best suited to be Sasuke's wife and repopulate the Uchiha clan. (I mean... if he were to do it with Hinata, they'd make mutant babies IMO) But then again, even Sakura's love couldn't change the path he chose so who knows? I think he just is too afraid to love and care because he'll just get hurt and stuff so he isn't into romance.

But... what was my point again. Ah. Okay well Sakura and Naruto would break the "curse" that the teams seem to have >_> .. Like those ugly love triangles that never seem to work out! Ugh Darn you Kishi </3! And, Kishi did say she'd be the heroine...the heroine is supposed to be at the hero's side as they save the world together... /shot. (Maybe thats why Kishi-sensei said Hinata would be a better heroine?)

Yeah, SS is not a ship for everyone, I can understand that, but I like it very much myself. Yeah, SS does have a few really cute moments, too.

AND THE FACT THAT KISHI xD answered the question about a possible "uchiha-hyuga" baby just made me homg. / fangirls. It can imply that he has actually thought about a uchiha-hyuga mix <3.(ohoho Sasuke and Hinata)

D: do you think her gentleness will get to him?? She's one of the few girls who never made any advances towards him and had a shallow crush on him. AND AND... homg the two clan symbols totally complements each other <3 and homg homg. /stops right there xD.

Well I... really can't see Sasuke dying... Mainly because the Naruto and Sakura wouldn't be able to forgive themselves for not saving him... But that's just my opinion. I think he just wants to destroy everything he was attached to so he wouldn't have to feel the pain of knowing that it was all "an illusion" or "too good to be true' *A*... idk. Maybe if he erases it, it'd be like erasing that past self he wants to forget.
I dunno how Sakura would be able to reach into his heart and change him, but I hope she does... or Naruto does 8D but that would totally ruin the antagonist and the epic battles. *A* Sakura-channn please be more of a heroine and reach either one of their hearts (homg she needs more screen time... Well. Let's see. I ship most of my ships because there is something in them that I find interesting, and mostly I'm interested in things that are sort of dark and angsty. So my pairings are not always the most healthy or happy ones.

SS certainly has all that: it is pretty dark and messed-up ship with plenty of angst. I also tend to like characters that are very flawed, and Sasuke is totally like that and even Sakura has many flaws, though not as bad ones as Sasuke. I find the two of them very interesting as characters and the idea of them together is also compelling. What I also like about SS is that, even though it has so much darkness in it, it also has some sweet and genuinely good moments, for example even though in part I Sasuke sometimes treated Sakura coldly, he still considered her an important friend and was willing to die for her. Even in part two, Sasuke still occasionally thinks about Sakura and team 7, like he genuinely misses them. That combination of dark and light, cruel and sweet, is really fascinating for me. I also like the themes of redemption and making amends. If Sasuke can change and become a good person, then SS has a real chance to develop into a really good and happy bond. So SS basically has two flawed inviduals in a dark relationship, which still has a genuine chance to become a good and happy union. So a dark journey, but with (potential) happy ending. I really like all of these elements, especially together in the same storyline.

I think that Kishi hasn't really explored SS that much. It is a ship with very much potential, but Kishi hasn't really gone into that so much, not the way he has explored the NaruSasu bond. Just imagine how amazing* it would have been if Sakura had been playing the role Naruto has been playing (or if Kishi had just made Naruto gay). We could have seen a love story on a whole other level than we have seen so far. I don't really read that much fanfiction, but someday I may look for some long SS fanfic just to see that potential between them explored. I don't really care if my ship is or if it will be canon. It would be nice if SS will be canon, but even if it doesn't happen, I'd still ship it.

So there. It is kind of hard to list exactly every reason why I like SS, but hope this post gives at least some idea. I also have no idea if other SS shippers ship this for the same reasons. I might be some kind of exception, some lone SS weirdo.

(*Well, for me anyway. Maybe not for you since you ship some other couple. )

Edit. I also ship NaruSasu, mostly for the same reasons I ship SS: the darkness of it all, yet many sweet moments. In NaruSasu I also really like how deep their bond is.

Ah, that IS an interesting reason. thank you for sharing Well I don't ship them for those reasons personally but I can appreciate that point of view. I like dark, angsty things too, just not with romance. So far. but I might find one that I like.

This could be a time where he is more open to Naruto's love methods and might actually change for the better. On the other hand, he needs to have that final big fight with Naruto that pretty much everyone reading this comic expects to happen. He can't redeem himself completely before that, right? It'd be nice to know where that damn guy is even going with team loudmouth and birdguy and Oro.

SasuHina is definitely the weirdest crack pairing I've ever liked. I don't even know why I like them together. They just seem so cute in such a weird way. I need to turn my odd SasuHina love into a fanfic at some point.

I pretty much dislike Sasuke with anyone. He's never shown sexual interest in anyone and he's proven time and time again he doesn't know how to treat women, men, or 'friends'.

I can't see him being paired with anyone now. Once upon a time maybe Karin, but now I highly doubt that pairing too.

I definitely will! Whenever I finish my NS/MK time-travel fic that I still have no idea how long it will go on. xD SasuHina has potential in fanfiction for sure! I feel like Hinata could soften his rough edges. And it's not offensive! Hinata's a lot more feminine and girly than Sakura. Her personality even screams girliness with the gentle disposition. Sakura can be gentle and loving, but the difference is she's more of a tomboy. Though I think both Hinata & Sakura are pretty in different ways.

Kirabook, I'm actually the same. My favorite Sasuke pairing is SasuHina but that's only in fanfictionland. Realistically, Sasuke should be forever single. If he ends up with someone in the manga, I will have a serious wft moment.

A long time ago i find somewhere a scan of viz media version about kushina's advice on women to Naruto. And that tanslation was very distorted (I don't remember very well how they translated it now). If someone can post that scan it would be good...

Do you see? They changed the meaning of first phrase... just like viz media has done, giving a speech more neutral like planet manga did.

Am curious about the version of your land... How they translated it if you have the volume...?

Because there's no doubt about the original version, there Kishi was very clear (even too much). he speaks about a strange woman.

And...? what's wrong with being neutral?? I'd actually like that neutral version than the flat out one. It leaves readers speculating more.

I have to agree with you on that , I'm a formerly SS fan and I liked them for that same reason and I stopped to ship them for the same reason that you commented, Kishi just don't explored them as a couple (and tbht the lack of feelings for Sasuke's side also bothered me). They had so much potential but Kishi stopped developing them when Sasuke left the village. If Sakura had been playing the role Naruto has been playing, it would be another story, I'd probably still ship SS (or both SS and NS idk)

I ship NaruSasu too but more because Naruto is the only one who can shake Sasuke's feelings. Naruto is the light in the Sasuke's darkness.

In NaruSaku is the same reason as yours, I love how deep their bond is but also I love how Sakura went from hating him to loving him (be it platonic or romantic.. don't matter), I think they work good together and they have that "equality" feelings that I like so much in couples, it's like no matter how strong naruto becomes or how much she comes to admire him, to her, he always will that baka Naruto that she likes so much, they can be themselves with each other and I really like it.

I mean, at times, I swear to freaking kami-sama that Sakura did seem interested in Naruto and the love they share for each other isn't just "teammate/friendship love" not even family love. In terms of Sakura's feelings, It seems like Kishi implied most of her feelings, but he hasn't confirmed them since Sakura is confused about them.

Oh o-o and Naruto can be seen as light...I guess. There was this one chapter cover thing where Hinata was shown in the light (i forgot which one) and apparently the databook had an old draft of it and Naruto was seen in the background as her "sun"... LOL now that you mention it xD Naruto's blonde hair can represent the light he gives to people. You know he even changed Gaara and stuff <3. AND HE SEES TRUTH WITH HIS BLUE EYES. /shot. And Sakura... well Sakura can represent life and rebirth... *A* just the fact that her name is relating to spring. ...
