Yeah, I guess so...

Despite this, we know Naruto's determination to make Sakura happy. We also know that he hasn't confessed to Sakura because he feels that he can't do so unless he keeps his promise to her. And we also know that the closest interaction Naruto has ever had with Hinata was also in a filler, right (the filler about searching for an insect called Bikochu, I believe)?

So if we set the fillers aside, it will reduce bonus "points" for both "couples", but despite this, we know that the situation will not change. Naruto will do anything for Sakura and Sakura will do what it takes to protect Naruto.

The promise he once made to Sakura (to bring Sasuke back) now became his own goal. Didn't he say so himself? That's not the main reason. Plus if he would confess to her (especially after her confession) it would confirm that NaruSaku became canon (ie SasuSaku and NaruHina fans would probably lost their interest in this manga, and some of them might even stop reading it). Kishimoto doesn't want this (manga sales will decrease). That's why we're most likely going to find out who will end up with whom at the end of the series.

To tell you the truth, I really hope he runs into Itachi and Itachi tells him everything. I think this situation has the most chance for Sasuke to turn back to good again, to go back to Konoha with everyone. I could go on about Sasuke and his path for yeaaaarss, but I’m gonna stop right now because this post is dedicated to the shipping wars.

I do too. Itachi has alot to answer for, but the odds of it turning Sasuke good are zero because it completely zaps all purpose from the titular character of this series. The primary motivation of Naruto would be taken from him. It's Naruto's role to overcome the hatred, Itachi attempt to save him and failed miserably. Itachi admitted as much and passed that duty onto Naruto.

I think it should count. In my opinion, a good and strong relationship is decorated with both ups and downs moments. My view of the recent chapters (including 573), whereby Kishi is drawing some panels involving Naruto, Sakura, Hinata or Sasuke, is done to milk the shipping fanbase.

Did you notice that in the recent chapters, whenever he illustrated Hinata, he also illustrated Sakura and put both girls in a different light. Starting with the love-letter-nin scene, Sakura's mental image of Sasuke, Hinata's mental image of Naruto, and recently both girls' inner thoughts for Naruto (573). It's there to keep us hoping, and --particularly for NS fans-- getting tortured for the lack of NS moments...

The interesting part is there's this pattern in the manga: whenever there's a major moment for SS/NH, it ends with a NS moment (in my opinion). Some of the example are:

1. Sakura's confession to Sasuke before he left Konoha, ends with Naruto's POAL, whereby the focus is more into Sakura's thinking that Naruto is the one who always understand her and support her.

2. Hinata's confession to Naruto during Pein arc, ends with Sakura hugging Naruto. Hinata was also shown there, smiling at them.

3. Sakura's *confession* to Naruto in Iron Country, which made the other fandoms cheers up because it's 'debatable'; ends with Naruto saving Sakura from Sasuke, with that one huge panel of Naruto carying Sakura (how many panels in the entire Naruto manga have this kind of drawing? I personally thought that the save was remarkably illustrated, although it is underplayed in the anime version)

... and many more --too lazy to write .

Obviously, NS fans will have to endure the other pairing's fan service done by Kishi before we get our part --Kishi's trying to balance things out. It is mentioned before by Tricksie that there might be a major SS moment coming soon before we get our portion. I do believe this and I think when it comes, it'll be a lot worse situation than what we have with Hinata recently. Just brace yourself and prepare for the worst. But, I do believe, for what it's worth, our endurance will definitely worth it!

Um... you do know that filler isn't usable in debates, right? Considering that filler has no effect on the storyline whatsoever?

I understand fillers don't count plot wise but I'm sure Kishi does some sort of supervision so that it doesn't contradict his story too much. I'm sure that if he was planning to have Naruto start changing his feelings to Hinata there would be no chance that he would allow an episode were Naruto reaffirmed his love for Sakura to be made. I actually think it could have been his idea for them to make an episode to remind the viewers that Naruto was still very much in love with Sakura since he couldn't find an opportunity to add it in the present story without looking out of place.

When did Kishi said that the shipping wars are over and NH is canon??? Kishi needs to keep the pairings open and stable in order to have more readers and more money in his pocket so I doubt he would say such a thing. Just because Hinata said she wants to hold Naruto's hand and walk with him doesn't mean Naruto is going to accept her. Sorry but if 574 chapters of the manga he has never shown any romantic feelings for her then he's not going to start now. Kishi however has shown that Naruto loves Sakura deeply and he's very selfless willingly to get hurt on the inside by watching her been happy with Sasuke if she was truly happy been with the person who has tried to kill her various times. People should ask themselves why Kishi has made Naruto's love for Sakura very strong??? what will be the point if he loves her so much why from out of nowhere he will start falling for Hinata??? it doesn't make sense. We can't forget NH is all about Hinata and Hinata only its very much one sided until proven wrong (and I seriously doubt Kishi is going to start now developing this pairing since he will be pulling a Rowling with the Harry/Ginny pairing I hate that pairing ).

Yep, when the guy started with "lets face it, Kishi has already made NH canon", I pretty much stopped reading right there. If anything, NH is the biggest one dead (if not that one then SS, but if SS is dead, so is NH), and has pretty much always been that way.

Side note (from a #1 SH fan): NH fans shouldn't be mad if NH loses, because then maybe SH might happen, and that's the best Sasuke and Hinata can get.

its not just a stepping stone. naruto risked everything he had to try to save sakura. even looking back a few times at her to get himself pumped up again. he even crawled on the ground and was ready to kill gaara for her, even though he knew what gaara was going through.

and it made me think....wow....if naruto doesnt get sakura....i will feel really bad for him........

naruto is in love with sakura alot and i get tired of naruhina fans saying hes not.


if i was naruto (even though ima girl) i wouldnt risk my life for the girl i love just so i can get with another girl i barely know and talk to. i dont care how hinata feels.

Exactly. He must love her very much if he's ready to die protecting her (and doing it selflessly, not expecting any benefits). And you know what is the best thing about it? It's that now Sakura's doing the same thing for him: she's ready to risk her life/do anything she can for him, even if some of her actions might make him hate her (but we know that cannot possibly happen ).
