Meh, I don't really care for him. He's a little too selfish and arrogant for me, but he could still grow on me depending what he does going forward. We'll see.

I thought he was one of your favorites... At least that's what I remember from our conversation a long time ago. Did Touka change your mind :hehehe: ? (jk)

Arrogant and selfish...yeah he is xD But there is also something about him that shows he cares for the people that were around him, which is what makes him likable

I thought he was ok. He definitely took a step backwards with this last chapter though. I don't think he was ever one of my favorites, I can't remember him being in my top 5. He might have been in my top ten, I'm not sure.

Touka didn't change my mind, she commanded that I think differently.

I'm just glad Ishida's confirming this chapter that Shuu really has grown to care for the people around him, and that he honestly did come to care for Kaneki, Hinami, and the others. Thank you for giving my fave so much proper deveIopment Ishida :wub:

This chapter seems to be setting things up...

 

If the spoilers are to be believed Shuu might begin to believe that Kaneki and Sasaki are separate entities 

His kakuja side might come up and he might revert back to how he was in the past, trying to somehow free Kaneki from Sasaki's control

 

Idk, that's my impression

 

Also what's up with the CCG? It certainly looks that they / or Sasaki's squad at least are being a lot more lenient with ghouls

Shuu is a really good character that challenges his one down perk. If you ask me, he's a guy that is good all around except one. There are characters or even people that can be really good but one hinders it. Like example, I can be very caring guy but have horrible taste when it comes to women (too high standards, jerk to "ugly"). In this case, Shuu is a nice guy (wants to help his people to smile again, thanked others, cared about friends), but what hinders him is obsession. So judging by the spoilers, it seems like we will get one last buildup with Shuu and Sasaki since the next time they meet, they will be enemy and I think that's where Kakuja Shuu will come in.

This chapter doesn't show anything. There was nothing in the spoilers that demonstrated that he cared for Kaneki, Hinami, Banjou, and the rest of the group for them rather for himself. Merely thinking of them doesn't demonstrate. He hasn't gained anything after last chapter.

I'm sorry but is the chapter out? It almost feel like I'm missing something. Last time, I didn't know the spoilers left out more conversation between Shuu and Touka. I thought it ended with Touka asking him if he really wants Kaneki to come back, only to find out more depth than that.

Yes, because him not wanting to cause Sasaki any pain by telling him about his past as Kaneki is him not caring for Kaneki at all? Him thinking about how happy he was at that time with all of them is him not caring for them at all. Him referring to his conversation with Touka and saying that yes he has an ego, but thats not the only reason he's doing it is him not caring for Kaneki at all. Then finally, him mentally debating whether or not he should tell Sasaki about something he was so eager to do before is him not caring for Kaneki at all. Lmfao, but ok though :roll:

Hmm this is gonna be a crazy prediction, but aside form re volume 3 all the re volumes cover have been mirroring with original volume covers with Kaneki/Sasaki appearing on the first cover of the original and re, likewise with Touka in the second cover of both parts, and now Tsukiyama being on the cover for 4 on both parts.   So my prediction for Volume 5's cover (I know we still got a while to go) either we get Rize on the cover or Amon and I could so totally see Amon being the one who gets the cover for Volume 5 assuming we run into him again.

The only thing that stopped him is that he didn't know what to say because he's doubting his original intent of telling Haise, and that's not out of concern for him, it's because he's unsure of Haise. Once again nothing significant happened in this chapter that was different from last chapter. The only time he'll prove anybody wrong is when Kaneki comes back.

I mean I'm not anti Tsukiyama, but I'm not going to pretend he developed when he hasn't.
