It's official. Mashima is the King of Trolls, surpassing Kubo beyond his wildest dreams. It also helps that there's an open spot in the Big 3 soon. Thus, making him the worst troller of the Big 3.

You know what's worse? No matter how stupid or redarded an plot twist is, how ridiculous the story gets, aways on the next week, we give ourselfs the trouble to read the next chapter, even thought we know that probaly nothing good will come. Seriously, why? Why shonens have to go through this? Why can't we have an simple an serious development that is aceptable? Would be that hard to kill Erza? Would be that hard keep Lisanna dead? Would be hard to give Makarov an heroic death? At least it would be better then an random friendship power up!
Man, I need some time alone, this is kind of depressing...

Well, as a Tvtroper pointed out, Mashima is, very much like Kubo, a Trolling Creator who's slowly graduating into Magnificent Bastard Extraordinaire because no matter how much he trolls, he'll still be able to make the readers to keep following his manga. Although Kubo seems to have been letting go of his trolling persona as of recent chapters (I hope....)

First off, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
hhh!!!!!

All right, thank you, I needed to get that off. Now then, what the hell is going on? Mashima decided to cut three months into five days via party in that celestial realm? Why couldn't he just pull a DBZ and just give them more time via that realm. Now, I think I'm expecting them to get like an instant power-up as oppose to three months of training their butts off like how it should be. Well, then, uhhhhh, I shall see how they get themselves out of this pickle, hopefully, but somehow not expected, if shall not be used in a very bad cliche way. Good day, then.

My first thought was --Click here to view--
"Serious arc! Trouble in the celestial realm wooo a Lucy arc yaaaaay!" Then we got trolled hard. Couldn't he have just done a freaking montage? And Lucy Arc: Denied. When is Lucy going to get her last two avatars, dammit?! She's just missing Libra and Pisces now, right?

What cruel friencs these Celestrial sprits are....So did we just get trolled again or not? Either way he's doing things diferent to the norm, Naruto and One Piece had time-skip and they got stronger, Fairy Tail had time skip and everyone else but them got stronger. They have training ark and everyone except them do any real training.

Chapter 263 out a day early it seems and would this be what one would call trolling? Hiro-Sensie needs to keep the suspense a bit longer, it's like one week we find them in trouble and then the next it's all sorted.

Well, kitten, the chapter was actually going pretty smoothly until the last 2 pages. Damn this random power ups that come in the last second to quickly fix everything. So, what's next? Easy victory at the tournament? More random power ups? Erza bromance? Leave it to Mashima evil plots.

BTW, I founded something that actually fits with what Mashima had been doing lately to his manga: http://browse.devian...a kubo#/d4cw6xj

Dear God, is he really so desperate to skip a training arc that he trolls his own troll? I know he thinks training arcs are boring, but this is just silly! He should have went with the Celestial dimension being in peril! That would have made a great arc! kitten. I love Fairy Tail, but I'm starting to doubt Mashima's ability to write it well.

Mashima, for me is a bit like Oda in many ways, he has some great idea's that appeal to the masses his stories have great bond between the cast, but where they differ is their storytelling ability. Oda is not afraid to take as long as it takes to tell his story, he can and will spend two plus years for just one arc if he has to, where with Mashima you almost get the feeling he's a bit lost and doesn't know how to tell his story and takes the easy route, or is afraid to spend too much time on a arc incase readers lose interest.

I loved Rave Master, and would love to see a anime for the full series, but even that the story could have been better, certain things explained better. When Fairy tail anime started read the manga my mates all agreed this manga had the potential to compete with One Piece and Naruto, butthis past year, it's become too predictable, in other manga's you might know the outcome but you are not certain how it will be done, but Fairy tail, it's nearly always Natsu is losing he gets a meal, powers up and wins.

I think the manga started to get really bad after the end of the Edolas arc, after magicaly bringing back Lisanna with an very lame excuse just to appeal to the fanbase. It's like Mashima lost his touch, when you think that someone is going to die, or an fight is lost, instead of going with this course of action, he brings an very cliched and silly plot device, aka, nakama power up to end the situation. Even today I'm very angry for Mashima not killing the Master way back at the island, this shows he is too afraid to kill someone of the main cast, wich make everything quite predictable.

Yeah he basically is afraid to make a drastic change to the story. Just when you thought something's going to happen that will change the story's direction completely, some silly plot device is used so that it doesn't happen. Laxus's return was forced. Gildarts would be the next guild master but no, nothing changes. Fairy Tail lacks good developments. Things tend to happen so suddenly and conveniently it feels like he's not putting in effort in his story telling.

Is it just me or has Natsu been a bit OOC lately? I dunno, he seems kinda weird recently.

Not really all that impressed with this troll either. I didn't have a big issue with the chapter last week, but this one was too far for me.

I did enjoy the S-Rank exam arc, but every chapter since then has been so full of WTF I don't know what to think.

I feel like I'm in one of those carnival rides, I think called the Egg Beater, that basically jerks you in different directions until you feel like you're going to fall out of the car, then spins you again into a different direction. It's fun, sort of, but repetative and after a while your side starts to hurt from where you're getting slammed into the side of the car all the time.

(To stretch this analogy to the breaking point, Naruto is more like a nicely well built roller coaster, on steel rails, where the curves and loops are graceful and you're thrilled but not in pain. One piece, as well. Bleach is more like an old rickety wooden coaster where you feel like you're going waaaaay too fast for safety and you're sure the thing is going to disintegrate beneath your car.)

Well, there was the Raven Tail plot that needed to be resolved first, (as we can see in this chapter) and in order to solve that particular plot thread, Makarov needs to be there with Luxus. Quite frankly, only after the Raven Tail plot is resolved, we can expect Makarov to really die anytime now. Y'see, when Makarov looked like he was going to die on the island, I was cheering for it to happen and at the same time, I felt that I won't be quite satisfied because there was still that RT plot thread needing to be resolved.

I'm glad that Mashima finally introduced RT in the plot again. And it feels complete to me because Makarov and Luxus are still present. In order to resolve the RT plot, all 3 must be present otherwise it won't feel "complete" to me.

Here's hoping Makarov dies for real after it's resolved.

I don't mean to offend you or anything, but your analogy really cracked me up. Especially with Bleach's. 111189.gif

I will add that OP is more like a kiddie roller coaster to me. Graceful, fun, but very boring compared to the "adult" roller coaster like Naruto.

I don't know he did just get accused of trolling with his latest manga volume cover with Jimbie on, led everyone to believe he's joining the crew only for him to decline for now.

Anyway I said a bit like Oda, not exactly like Oda, his idea's and artstyle are similar, just doesn't have the skill or talent to take it to the next level.
