Oh my gosh! I cannot believe that Demon of Konoha made that stupid attack on NarutoxSakura shippers like that, I do not even do that to random NarutoxHinata shippers unless they are attacking first! dry.gif

The jacket thing that Sakura has, that is in the anime not the manga (the original source). I could say to Demon of Konoha into why NarutoxHinata is so supportive in fandom, despite its lack of hints and development in the manga? Demon of Konoha does have the right to be a NarutoxHinata fan, it is just that I hated how he attacked the NarutoxSakura pairing since there is not hints whatsoever that they are related, they do have the same eye patterns but so does TenTen (which is darker), and I highly doubt they would all be related.

How long ago was that review? Just wondering.

P.S. I know that Kishimoto-san was a fan of Dragon Ball, but come on! Do not use that as support NarutoxHinata, lots of them do saying, Because of her lack of screen time it will surely be NarutoxHinata!" Yeah, right, and her lack of being there for Naruto for his current problems (not bashing Hinata, I actually think she is adorable).

I disagree with pretty much everything that he says, but I'm not seeing that as much of an attack on NaruSaku fans.

Well I haven't been here in awhile, haven't really felt like debating at all. However, the LC's closed and Ashley left so I have a LOT of steam to blow off, so I guess I'll tear through that Demon's Guy's little arguments. Don't worry, I'll try not to be too cruel

QUOTE
Ok, I really am not trying to be a kitten about this. You do have a good story but I just can't get into it because I absolutely loathe Naru/Saku pairings. As far as I'm concerned I can't see how anyone even sees it as feasible and personally I give it almost a zero percent chance of happening. Honestly I think we're going to find out that they're really cousins. I actually have something to back that theory up. Note that there is a scene with Sakura in her room and in the corner there is a coat sitting on a partial mannequin that bears an impeccable resemblance to the Fourth's flaming jacket. There would be no point to showing this unless there was a real connection, a familial connection. It's not like a random family would have been given the Fourth's coat. Also notice that others that have an obvious family have had those members shown in some format or another. The only thing we've got on Sakura's parents is her mother's voice and that's it. A suspicous thing to do with a first string character. Naruto in turn is quite obviously related to the Fourth. The only thing Kishimoto hasn't done to make this more blantantly obvious is to hang a sign around Naruto's neck saying that he's the son of the Fourth. Now, Sakura being related to him is just a theory of mine but there are enough suspicious things that would make it plausible.

You've already made a few mistakes. One, you assumed a pairing has be canon or have a chance of being canon for people to like it. Two, you forgot that even if they where cousins (which is doubtful) it wouldn't matter since this is a Japanese anime and they have cousin x cousin pairings on occasions (and yes, even the ones shipped here do). Speaking of your "theory" (I use the word lightly do to your almost complete lack of evidence) if all you have to go on is that jacket then your arguments holds no water. That jacket was 100% filler, its not there to foreshadow its there because an anime artist thought it looked cool. As for Sakura's vague parents, we actually HAVEN'T seen most of the rookie nine's families, just Ino's team, Sasuke's, and Neji's dad. Next time you want to call something a theory you might want to have more than two pieces of vague evidence tongue.gif

QUOTE
Moving on I have to disagree with your assumption that Naruto is doing more than half heartedly making any attempts to win Sakura's affections. Look closely at the facial expressions that he has when he does this in most of the cases after the time skip and you can tell that it doesn't mean as much to him. In one of the scenes he's lying on a staircase and saying it almost like a joke. Someone like Naruto wouldn't be doing that if he really meant it. He'd be trying to convey the honesty of his emotions with his eyes (and in his case probably pleading). I believe the only reason he even bothers to continue with this farce is because it helps to alleviate the sour mood that happens whenever Sasuke is mentioned. A game if you will to make it seem like the old days before Sasuke turned into a chump. As I've said to others, I'm convinced that Naruto truly gave up on Sakura after she begged him to go and bring back Sasuke. At that moment even he would realize that he would always be second at best to her and that Sasuke would be the one she wanted (despite the fact that Sasuke is a traitorous bastard).

This is easily one of the worst arguments I've seen. Naruto has NEVER asked Sakura on a date at the same, or even around the time Sasuke is mentioned. He asked if they where on one after the bell test, which was several hours after Kakashi mentioned it and the mood was cheery from there victory over him. He also said he wanted to ask her on a date when she brought Sai along, and, once again, Sasuke was mentinoed until AFTER this event when they reached the hospital, and it was used to show how comfortable those two are with each other (and that's not interpretation, that's what Sai was saying so its canon). As for the "Naruto knows Sakura only wants Sasuke!" argument, well if he "knew" this would he get pissed at people for ruining the mood? What mood would Sai have ruined by being friendly? I'll leave that one up to you biggrin.gif

QUOTE
Moving on, I really have to disagree with your assessment of Naruto and Hinata. As for the pairing, the reason it gets so much support is that it is truly the only couple in the storyline that actually has a real chance of happening. The only other couple I see a real possibility of happening is Shika/Tema but even that has less of a chance. In Naruto's case he has friends and he has people that care for him but what he lacks is someone that unconditionally loves him, flaws and all. Hinata fills that role perfectly. In Hinata's case she needs someone that can bolster her confidence and help her become her own individual by showing her that she is strong. Naruto is perfect for that. Hinata's confidence has grown throughout the series and eventually she will reach the point where she can confront Naruto with her feelings. In turn, for Naruto to find out that there is someone with such deep feelings for him would open his mind to that possibility. Remember even as socially retarded as Naruto is, he can see that Hinata is the equivalent to a princess. Even if he was madly in love with her from the beginning I highly doubt he could see any chance of someone like her returning those feelings which would be one of the biggest reasons he never even thought to give her a chance yet. Note that I said socially retarded and not just retarded. Too many people assume that Naruto's character is out and out stupid. Of course he did teach himself a Jounin level kinjutsu in a few hours. He learned an impossibly strong jutsu, that took the one who taught him three years to learn, in just over a month. His ability to adapt and learn should not be in question. Had he not lived the way he did and was raised properly he most likely would have been at the top of his class easily. Once again it comes down to the fact that he had no guidance early on. Iruka really doesn't count because he wasn't a full time guardian to Naruto, no one was, and thus he had to figure everything out on his own.

Only pairing with a real chance of happening? Having more of a chance than ShikaTema? Are we READING the same manga? In the entirety of Part 2, their interaction has come down to "Hi Hinata!" *faint*. At the very least Shikamaru and Temari have interacted a bit. Hinata loves Naruto unconditionally? Does she ever even ADMIT he has flaws? Besides being a screw up that keeps trying since she doesn't consider him being a screw up a flaw. As for "bolstering Hinata's confidence" I REALLY have to wonder if where reading the same story. Just in case you don't get what I mean, here's a helpful looks at Hinata's "growth" in confidence.

Start of Part 1= Hinata has little confidence and can't face Naruto
Chuunin Exam= Hinata gets boost in confidence from Naruto, fights Neji
Pre-3rd Round Exam= Hinata hides from Naruto, manges to maintain conversation for a short while.
Post Rescue Sasuke Take One= Hinata faints at seeing bandaged Naruto, and watches him leave without actually talking to him
Part 2= Hinata hides from him, and faints when he says hi to her.

Yeah, her confidence growth has been ASTOUNDING tongue.gif Oh and we all know Naruto's not dumb, but he's not a social retard either and I have no idea where you got that idea. Sai is the social retard, not Fox boy. On another note, how come your downplaying the importance of Iruka? Being there for Naruto when he needed him the most and saving the Konoha from a Kyuubified, Revenge bent Naruto not good enough for ya? Because it was pretty obvious that if Iruka hadn't stuck up for him, he would have ran off with the scroll and probably would have gotten back at the villiagers. Why do so many of these NaruHina arguments downplay Iruka? the guy can take multiple stab wounds, including one that looks like its somewhere in his SPINE and not only still think Ramen is a better idea than a hospital, but saves his home just by being there for a kid. He obviously deserves some respect.

QUOTE
Getting back to Hinata I think you have a decidedly flawed outlook on her. Just because she is shy doesn't mean she would bow down to Naruto on every conceivable topic. In any relationship there will be an infatuation phase and once that was over she would probably be a bit more forceful with him. Just because there wouldn't be any of the senseless, and quite frankly moronic, drama that so many people love to see in relationships doesn't make it invalid. I've been in relationships with people that thrive on bullsh** drama and those have always, always been the worst relationships I've had. I'd kill to meet a girl that was laid back about things and wasn't making it their agenda to change everything about me to suit their wants and needs. Sadly that's really hard to find. Ultimately in Naru/Hina pairings it isn't internal strife that would be the problem it would be external strife. I highly doubt that Hiashi would want to see his daughter with Naruto which would be the source of a lot of conflict. Then there's the fact that both of them have people/nations that want to capture and/or kill them for some reason or another. There's plenty of drama in that relationhip without the need for pointless 'why can't I change him to be what I want' type crap that so typically fills out the pages of Sasu/Saku, Shika/Ino and Naru/Saku stories.

You show me one example of Hinata being forceful with Naruto and I might believe you. Oh and for all of your complaining about "Bulls*** drama, you already pointed out how the NaruHina pairing is dramatic too. Oh and for God's sakes, stop using your personal relationships as evidence, Kishi isn't stalking you, what you prefer in a relationship has no bearing on the manga. Also, lack of internal strife = boring tongue.gif I mean, who wants to watch people agree ALL OF THE TIME. Besides I still have my doubts about that lack of strife not being from Hinata just nodding at everything Naruto says.

QUOTE
Next up is that Sasuke will be brought back to the fold. As much as I hate him, and I'm glad we agree on his character, Naruto will eventually 'redeem' him and bring him back. Not that Sasuke won't be killed in the process. Note that they don't out and out say that Orochimaru was dead. He could be trapped in Sasuke's mind and be looking for a way to reassert himself... I hope. Really that entire battle pissed the hell out of me. Naruto goes four tails on his ass and barely scratches him and Sasuke fights him for all of ten seconds and wins. If I didn't think Kishimoto was a Sasuke fan girl before I know he is now. What really pisses me off is Orochimaru was the only villain I actually liked in the whole show. Ah, I'm off point. At any rate if Orochimaru reasserted himself and Naruto had to kill him then Kakashi will just step in and bring him back to life. Remember he observed what Chiyo did to Gaara with his Sharingan. At that point I pretty much knew how Kakashi was going to die. At any rate Sasuke will be brought back and Orochimaru's soul will flitter off to wherever and the emo punk will be brought back to Konoha thus reducing a near zero percent chance of Naruto getting together with Sakura to absolute zero.

This is a bit off topic, but I don't think Sasuke taking out a near dead Oro is that big of a deal. I mean the guy wouldn't have lived another day on his own, he was basically on death's door when Sasuke attacked him. Oh and why would Sasuke just go back to Konoha? He hasn't shown any desire to return there and even if he did, he still hasn't shown any interest in Sakura so the "absolute zero" thing probably isn't gonna happen.

The rest of that isn't worth commenting on, its just the usual "Sakura is bad for Naruto!" and "Naruto = DBZ" arguments we've seen a hundred times before. Well that was fun, hope I didn't go overboard.

Way to go, Random Nobody! th_glomp.gif Those are the comments that I was thinking! I think it has been hinted by Demon of Konoha's rambling that he/she does not read the manga at all, and only watches the anime!

Not a really bad thing, but the jacket that Sakura has is only in the anime, like you said, and does not even have the word "fourth" in it! dry.gif I hate it when NarutoxHinata fans always downplay Iruka and call Sakura a "b*tch" just because she was rude to Naruto in the first half of part 1 :shamefulcry0js: , despite showing how much she changed in the later half and part 2 as well. Also, fillers do not count, not even the filler arc right after the Sasuke Retrieval Arc as well :shamefulcry0js: !

One person even thought that the anime is the original source and said, "The anime is ahead of NarutoxHinata's relationship compare to the manga! I wonder when the manga will catch up!" dry.gif
Is that person serious? It is the opposite of what that person is saying, the manga is ahead of the anime. Plus, there have been no developments for NarutoxHinata as well. Nothing against NarutoxHinata fans in general, just the radical ones and Demon of Konoha's false assumption for his/her favorite pairing!

That review with the Bulma comparison just doesn't sit well with me. Bulma and Chichi are more consistent with Sakura then Hinata does with either with them. If this person has to choose a series to compare NaruSaku to, they should atleast pick one where the pairings' personalities are relevant.

-Kawarimi
I have to admit, your argument (that Takeo brought up here) is quite possibly the most sound evidence for SasuSaku I have ever read. Before reading this, I've never really considered SasuSaku as a viable possibility. To me, it's certainly plausible now, though I still wouldn't give it good odds.

I would definitely like to rebuke, but I've never been good at debates. My argument would mostly consist of referrals to standard japanese story-telling in contrast to Hollywood scripts & English literary novels and their plot and writing techniques, all of which would seem entirely redundant.

All the same, sound argument Kawarimi!

Oh. Freaking. Gosh.
These NaruHina shippers are making me bust a gut for their stupidity. Even my younger cousin has a better logic then them! I'll even quote her for you:
QUOTE ("My Younger Cousin")
"Me? I like SasuSaku. Or SakuSasu. I don't think they'll turn to a 'canun' though. I just like it because it's cute. NaruHina? .... It's so bad, it makes me want to invert to NaruSaku(note: she has nothing agaisnt them, mind you.)! I mean, think logic. It's like trying to date a stranger!"

...
Is it just me, but are most NaruHina fanboys/girls have more inlogic minds then us? 111189.gif

Well, whatever. All this proves is that shippertards constantly dote on hints about it, and really never enjoy the manga itself. It's sad really... sweatdrop.gif

You know what I find funny? That twisted logic that some Sasusaku and Naruhina shippers have about Naruto being second best if he ends with Sakura. Yet they never say that Hinata is second best if she end up with Naruto. Talk about hipocrysi.

I was trying not to point fingers and make it as a more general reminder.

For my part, I think that being "second best" has a lot to do with how the decision is made.

If Sasuke chooses to come back and Sakura asks him out again, only to get rebuffed and have Sasuke choose somebody else, and then Sakura decides to consider Naruto, I'd be hard-pressed not to think of that as second best.

Conversely, if Naruto decides to start going out with Hinata while he thinks that he would have a decent shot with Sakura, that wouldn't feel like second best to me. However, I'm not sure that Naruto believes that right now, despite his ongoing attempts to go out with her.

Honestly I don't see the point of shipping Sasusaku at all.
Part 1
1) Sasuke had zero romantic interest in Sakura, in fact he got ugly and insulting the times she did try to initiate something
2)Sasuke insulted Sakura's abilities all time and clearly saw her as a liability on the team
3)The few semipositive interactions he had with Sakura were almost all about complimenting Naruto, wanting Sakura to notice Naruto's good traits (frankly, it looked like he noticed their similarities, like Kakashi and a few others did, but did something about it to try to draw Sakura's affection to Naruto

Part 2
Sasuke tries to kill Naruto and Sakura because they are unneeded emotional ties and he sees them as also standing in his way of his goals.

Well Naruto seems to think that Sakura still loves Sasuke. That´s why he isn´t more forthcoming towards her despite the feelings he still harbors for her.

I think that even if Sakura decides that she no longer has romantic feelings for Sasuke, starts to view Naruto in a romantical way and starts to tease him and show hints that she likes our loud mouthed blonde, he will be still thinkin that she loves Sasuke and will never love him.

Heh. If Narusaku happens I expect the first move to be made by Sakura. Because Naruto will allways thinks that she only sees him as a friend.

I think he's started to pick up that her feelings are definitely hinting at the romantic, note his reaction when she flirts with him as she offers to feed him in 343.

Yeah, he must be thinking along the lines of "Sakura-chan treats me now differently. Could she love me? Could she see me in a romantical way? Wait... maybe that´s my imagination and she only sees me as a friend and treats me differently because she knows about my inner problems like Kyuubi and Akatsuki. And what about Sasuke? Once he returns Sakura-chans may again confess her feelings and he may accept them because she is the only female he has let in his heart."

Naruto doesn´t want another scene that could broke his heart like the promise of the lifetime (what a sad scene). He thinks that Sakura only sees him as a dear friend.

Sort of, but I think with with a more positive spin. He suspects she does but won't make a move until he knows for sure. but his dreams about her are probably getting more much explicit. (heh, and quite likely Sakura's about Naruto wink.gif He's probably "filed away" that feeling about he as something he "takes out" to make himself feel better at bad times.

On not making the first move- he remembers what happened when he was 12 and he tried that, and she's much stronger now laugh.gif Even if she is in love with him she might not appreciate getting glomped unprepared. I'm betting that Jiraiya gave him some advice on women- to let her make the first move don't try anything until you know she is ready. willing and eager (and that includes hugs and kisses) wink.gif

The scene where Jiraiya egged him on to kiss Sakura? That was only in the anime. sad.gif

But there's still the wallop that he got when he told Konohamaru that Sakura was his girlfriend.

Another scene I feel I should mention is when Sakura came to Naruto's door and he really thought she wanted to go on a date with him.
Could have been partly his stupidity showing, but before I think even he knew that she didn't want to go on a date with him. She said she would in Part 1 when she wanted to tell him about the Cursed Seal and he was quite surprised, and at the beginning of Part 2 he seemed kinda nervous/shy when he said they could go on a date after Kakashi left them alone (It wasn't all straight-forward like "HEY! Let's make it a date!")

So yea, I agree that Naruto thinks that she's starting to return his feelings, whether it's just him seeing what he wants or not happy.gif
