It's not that every single ninja on that battlefield just suddenly learned an earth jutsu without an affinity to earth. This Jutsu was done by only by the ninja that actually HAVE an earth affinity. From what I remember, they only showed random fodder ninjas when Ino relayed Kitsuchi's instructions on how to perform the Jutsu's hand signs. Going by that observation, we can pretty much guess that those fodder nin had Earth as one of their chakra natures if not their only chakra natures. In conclusion, the main contributors of this Jutsu were from fodder nin with an ability to perform Earth Jutsu.

Nah. Not everyone could use it. XD Out of the rookies, it was only shown that Ino, Shika, and Cho could use it. ^^

I believe, based on how some things have been used in the manga and how some people seem capable of performing elemental techniques without a demonstrated affinity for that element (Kakashi is a particular offender in this regard), that there are elemental techniques that just about anyone (outside of someone like Lee) can perform, but you need an elemental affinity in order to perform the more complex techniques.  The Earthen Wall technique (as the Naruto Wiki translates it) may be such a "anyone can perform it" technique, but I think there are others as well (say, some of the Uchiha fire techniques).  I don't think every doton (nor all of any other element's techniques) could be performed without an affinity, however.

This. It was also shown that Ino, Shikamaru and Chouji were the individuals who have an earth affinity. Just wanted to add to that since they're not considered fodder nin.

 

It'd actually be nice to know what which element Sakura has... XD 

If Sakura shows, it seems that her primary element would be Earth, and if she has a second element, Water would be. That's how I see it fitting with her power and abilities.

Won't that make her a Senju? Well, she didn't do the earth element attack because she was healing Naruto so in a way, Kishi dodged that one.

I'd love for Sakura to gain wood element after earth and water. She'd likely have no problem combining the two of them. She'd be a damn beast for sure! Make it happen Kishi!!

Kishi has to release a more detailed databook if you ask me: the relationship chart needs to be updated + it would be actually nice to know K11's chakra natures, special techniques, more personal info, etc.

Agreed, though since there's likely going to be a couple more arcs after this, I'd personally like to see what Sakura's nature is on panel. Also, since she's gained the seal, maybe a couple of panels of training. It'd be nice if she took expanded her skillset. Maybe train with Kakashi, or learn Slug Sage mode if she hasn't already.

I don't know, but I don't think if she'll be able to do them that she'll be labeled as a Senju although that's how it will shows. Sakura will always be that powerful fighter normal girl from no prestigious clan or labeled after a clan XD

Shikamaru: Teach us the seals of a simple Doton Jutsu like the wall barrier technique, something Shinobi that aren't from the Rock Village can do either. 

 

As for his request to have Ino link him up to all shinobi on the battlefield. I doubt that Shikamaru would know who can or can't do Earth Jutsu at the top of his head or was even given a list of all Earth users before the war started. So I'm going to take an educated guess that that telepathic message went something like this: "Attention Shinobi, we need to create multiple Earth barriers in order to stall the Ten-Tails, here are the hand signs to this simple Earth Jutsu for those outside of the Rock Village who can actually perform it."

I'm just saying that Hashirama is known for this, which is why Orochimaru made a clone in the first place, right? That's what Yamato pretty much said that only him (Hashirama) can do it.

I do as well actually. She might eventually release the seal if it comes down to it.  I can't even begin to express how proud I am of Sakura and her achievements. She's proving herself, and she's actually not looking at Naruto and Sasuke's back anymore. She's right next to them, and that's such an amazing thing considering it's something that she never wanted to do. 

 

She can now summon slugs, and that opens the door for even more. I feel as though Kishi's gonna reveal the Slug Sage mode eventually, and the one who's gonna reveal that to us is likely Sakura.
