Proof

1 – This year’s movie will not be an original story like they’ve been up until now – it will follow the original work. That means the movie’s plot has something to do with the actual story -> not a filler. All the movies we watched were about Naruto and some bratty princesses or movie stars being pissed off at each other in the beginning, then Naruto suddenly realized that this person went through the struggles of being lonely like him and Sasuke did. Then they became best friends and together killed the evil villain. The end. Same old kitten. Thank Lord Jashin this movie will be different since Masashi Kishimoto is personally conceiving the all-new story and designing the characters.

Not sure whether I like the fact that this will be canon or not.

2 – There is a reason why all the characters shown in the movie announcement poster (with the exception of Naruto, Minato and Kushina) have a different appearance – and it’s connected with Tobi’s genjutsu. These parts came out a few day ago from the voice actor interview yes but the rest is speculation written by the author of the article.

Even if the movie follow the original work it doesn't means the story of the movie will be canon.

I agree with The Max. This movie is only good to show that Kishi likes to focus more on the bond between Naruto and Sakura, anything else only makes us look desperate.

It's not manga canon, just based on canon, but not exactly following it, Kishimoto is playing out a variant story even before Tobi Madara attacks.

I'm betting VA just forgot to say Sakura, we know from what's already been released that Sakura looks exactly the same, she and Naruto are together when Tobi Madara attacks, both will be involved in battling the genjutsu, and she's one of three main characters along with Naruto and Minato. Kushina is likely the top support character, she's not a listed main character.

As for the color commentary for Jump cover , the Naruto letters are indeed yellow and pink. The magazine title is deep purple- which is the color of Ino's clothes, not Hinata's. Hinata's clothes are lilac and grey. There's no lilac or grey on the cover.

It will count as artist interpretation though. Since it will follow the original storyline. But I have said before, this movie may come after the manga is done, right when the anime catches up with the ending of the manga. Unless of course Kishi is planning a big break, and this movie is the beginning of a new sequel.

I'm hoping the storyline is better than Blood Prison and Bonds. I think out of all the movies, those two were my least favorite. Hopefully we'll get some nice N/S fanservice in this too...good fanservice

What does it matter if most of the movie is only a genjutsu? If it's good then there's no problem. Besides, any genjutsu containing Minato and Kushina can only be excellent!!! -or at least I hope so. I think sometimes I get my hopes up too high-

I'm not saying I need evidence from the movie to support NS. I don't even care if there's going to be NS moments in this movie or not(don't kill me).

And you know this how? Just because Tobi isn't in his purple outfit doesn't mean that this is a story where the only thing canon is the author's intent. Did anyone ever stop to think that Tobi in his Akatsuki outfit is all a part of the Genjutsu as well and that MAYBE Tobi casts the Genjutsu while he's wearing his current outfit that he got when he acquired the Rinnegan? I'm not just saying this so that the narusaku moments that might show up will be considered canon (in fact I don't even care that much about the possibilities of narusaku moments in this movie since I'm more interested in the fact that Kishimoto is writing the story for this movie in the first place).


I'm just saying that going by what was said in the quote, this movie could possibly be the Naruto equivalent to One Piece's Strong World if that assumption is correct. But we won't know for sure until the movie comes out.

Like how the Akatsuki are revived? And how they will all be taken out? Will Itachi betray the Akatsuki to help Konoha? Will Sasuke be in this movie? Will he get a personality change as well? Do you guys only care about the romance part of it?

Well Sasuke is in one of the posters for the movie so I think he's confirmed to be in it. Minato and Kushina being enemies? Hmm...never thought about that. Good point.

Apparently you are rather selective in your reading in this thread. I and a number of others have often talked about how excited we will be to see Minato and Kushina and their interactions with Naruto and Sakura, and how they break the genjutsu together. The three main characters are Naruto, Sakura and Minato. The movie plot will focus around those three characters. Kushina will likely be the top support character due to her connection to Minato and Naruto. Everyone else will play support roles. The long trailer and the official spoilers have been focused around Naruto, Sakura, Minato and Kushina and the casting and battle against the genjutsu of those four.

Sasuke is likely going to just be inserted for a few minutes of the film, and most likely connected to Itachi in some way. We do know Sasuke isn't going to be that important to the plot in this film. There's not been any info on him in the movie to speculate on.

And lastly, this is a narusaku forum, of course narusaku is going to be a discussion focus- especially with Kishimoto's direct involvement and the fact two of the three main characters are Naruto and Sakura and the plot focus is on them....

I'm not too excited about NaruSaku scenes because they will be considered fan service, but hey, I'm not complaining. I'm more excited about the Minato fanservice. I'm a sucker for Naruto and Minato father and son related things, this is another dream come true. I was disappointed slightly with the last movie Minato was in because Naruto and Minato didn't do too much together save the important parts.

And now Kushina is finally being thrown into the mix too? This can only get more awesome. With a dash of Sakura in there, this movie really could represent how things could have been if Minato and Kushina had lived that night.


I still don't feel that the movie will be actual canon. It's not that manga, but we will really have to see. If Tobi is how he is before he got his other eye, then no, it's not canon really, it's altering what has happened in the manga. The reason why I feel we should stick to canon being strictly manga material is because it could seem hypocritical to say all of the NaruHina fillers are only fillers because they were in the anime. One could argue that the anime is based heavily on the manga, therefore it could be considered canon, which I highly disagree with. The same goes for this movie.

Does that mean I'm not excited about possible NaruSaku moments? No. I am excited, and maybe since Kishi has a high involvement in this film it could be critical hints to what could happen in the manga in the future, but it's just not canon in my eyes. Just very welcomed fan service at last.

I'm with Ciardha on this one. We're all uber excited to see Minato and Kushina in this upcoming movie, not to mention how Tobi's plot will play out. But of course, this is also a N/S forum, so of course we're concerned/excited as to whether they'll be some moments in there or not. Nonetheless, you're entitled to your opinion, but I'm just saying that it's not ALL about JUST N/S- the anticipation is for the plot too!

No, they won't be enemies, we already know from the spoilers that Naruto, Sakura, Minato and Kushina will be fighting against the genjutsu. My guess is Minato and Kushina might get generated from some remnant of their chakra inside Naruto.
