You mean how people are easily guided by its events that somewhat tells them that's the way it will be from now on, rather than waiting for more. I guess it's the case of "Where were you?" because people want to know the direction already but only judge from one event. I guess in this case, we thought they're trying to be so hidden that Unalaq would be the twist of the villain, but they got it out the way; we thought Korra would learn very slowly on her mistake, but she understood and clearly not stupid to fall in again. In other words, don't judge so hasty. Is that what you mean?

Off-topic: funny that you brought those two chapter up because it felt like tag-team almost worked until both of them individually say, "Meh, Naruto is a good friend," and "I still don't care for Sakura like that let alone everyone else."

Sure. In 615, NH felt like they got this in the bag. In 627, SS felt like they got this in the bag. So now, Hinata pretty much said, "Naruto is a good friend. That's all." As for Sasuke, not only he doesn't care, but Sakura is in bad situation with him as she lost all trust with him as a person. So yeah, total backfire.

Ah yeah the end of 615 and chapter 616 should of made it obvious that it was nothing special well for 627 I was kinda referring to when it seemed Sasuke turned good, but that could be a good case as well though 540 might be better for what appeared to be a SS moment but was not.

540 might be the beginning of the end for SS because it just keeps getting worse and I won't be surprised that it will be the end in the next arc or even here. The relationship has never been a good one so there's no rebound to go to. As for 627, people thought Sasuke is 100% good and drop everything evil, so he will make Sakura his by restarting everything and protect her at all cost. Don't ask, someone legitimately said this. Lastly, Sakura will only get screen time when Sasuke is involved only as in her and him only. Boy, was that ever wrong.

Best episode of the season so far. The characters were awesome and I loved Asami and Varrick. And Eska...I am very interested in what the creators are going to do with her. And I'm definitely terrified by her on Bolin's behalf, takes a good creator to do that.

 

Only one thing..Unulaq revealing his plan to his enemies. Pretty clichè, and for good reason; it's easy to write. Still doesn't make me like it, and he's supposed to be smart.

 

And one more thing, although this is not exactly about this episode. I don't like the whole Kataang family drama because Aang is dead. I wonder why the creators are bringing up the kids' frustration with their father now. It's too late. Because he is dead and they can not make up with their father, there is no plausible proper solution to the problem. I loved loved loved the happy family picture, but it felt like a sticky-plaster to the wound rather than a solution.

 

I can understand you feeling that way, but I personally don't think that was just the end of it and I still believe there's more resolution to come. I'm not trying to offer assurances or anything, those just sound empty when I don't actually know what's going to happen, it's just a strong feeling I have.

 

And everything else, my thoughts exactly. Verrick is hilarious and Eska, I'd really like to know who's idea she was. She gives a whole new meaning to "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."

I'm so glad Korra's not letting herself be manipulated anymore, I don't think I could have handled much more of her cluelessness.

That first line delivery was just priceless.

I like the fact they stop there and didn't go further with exposition. It makes the comedy golden.

Yeah, definitely much better. Best episode thus far. Korra finally realized she was being manipulated by her uncle and is taking action; kicking butt. Much, much better character interactions, with the gang and with Tenzin and his siblings. I really liked that tender moment with kya and Bumi. Very sweet.  ^^
Varrick is awesome; stealing the show with his eccentric demeanor. And I think I like outwardly psychotic Eska better than normal Eska. That face she made in the end... wow...! If the show continues this path, I will be a very happy camper~

well that ending was a surprise and i knew this episode would lead up to makorra breaking up i felt bad for both of them but they will rekindle  i know some fans are gonna hate on mako again though the poor guy never catches a break and meelo being a leemer tamer was pretty cool

well I guess something worked cause he broke up with you....that was a surprise....no not really they fought 80% of the time together. I understand Korra wants to help the Southern water tribe....but this is not helping ONE bit it's making it worse!!!

I don't care about shipping in this show but Korra and Mako didn't need to be together anyway. I didn't like what Mako did to Asami to get with Korra, them being together was meh and I saw them breaking up a mile away. Perhaps Bolin should get a legit chance or some surfing waterbending guy that will show up later in the season or nobody at all since Korra can't seem to keep her cool when things don't go her way.

 

 

However, this show will predictably get them back together though.  This is just some reincarnation of Zutara anyway.

Well there is some reason to the original series being better than korra.

 

1st- Its not that it was the first that introduced us to the world, it had a greater cast of characters and the journey was never fully stationed in one place for long, usually 2 episodes at most save for ba-sing-sae which occupied a large half of season 2.

 

2nd- The world at the time of ATLA had a greater sense of spirituality and aspects of nature and balance, or restoring it. It was good because it was like how the firenation was the only nation to have undergone an industrial revolution while the earth kingdom was limited and the water tribes and air nomads didn't embrace all the aspects of technology or were more primitive. The old series showed a good view of a world considerably like the pre-industrial world of real life before Britain began it between 1750-1780. Now since the 100 year war ended, all the stuff the fire nation made for war was able to be constructed into other stuff. The new series being around a reminiscent 1920s with republic city being like new york and hong kong at the time has many machines and stuff, basically the world of avatar entered its own industrial revolution. Now all those things like planes, automobiles, and even film are making their appearance in the avatar world.

 

3rd- there was an overlying plot. Aang had to beat the firelord before summer's end. Korra, she is only dealing with small scale arc-style opponents. Aang had to deal with Zhao and later Azula for a good time along with the Dai-le leader, but his had an overall sense of who was the one to be beaten. Korra's are in smaller arcs dealing with guys like Amon and now her Uncle who has other motives for this season.

 

4th- The character growth and pacing are much better in the original series, remember how simple it was in ATLA? Aang gets a new element a season. Others grew too, Katara got water bending and healing, Sokka was a genius at crafting stuff and swordsmenship, Toph had her own style of earthbending but also got metal bending. Korra, she had 3 elements at the start, lost her powers at the end of season 1, only to get them back instantly. Now while she still doesn't control everything perfectly, its still kinda leaving less room for the physical growth she would need and season 1s cheap power restore is though it was nice to see aang, just a really cheap way to end things which could have been given a better story for the spirits chapter. She has mental growth to go through, but Aang had to do both a lot of physical and mental growth in his journey.

 

5th- more episodes can lead to more character development and spacing. Korra moves to fast to some people and yes, its like this season is 14 episodes but with less episodes somethings are left undone or just crammed into a shorter sequence. What could have persisted more needs to be answered or closed off usually in the same or next episode.

 

6th- There was more action in ATLA, it was just due to reasons 4 and 5, this gave more sequences in which we could see bending action we enjoyed from the series. So far this season, it feels like its just Korra getting action I mean she is the main character but Mako has been limited, Tenzin is off on other bunsiness, and Bolin is just a comedy relief guy for now, I mean he had an action role last season, I really don't want to see just "evil waterbenders" this season, I know there will be fights against the spirits but please, I want to see more action from those like Bolin, Lin, Tenzin, even Asmai with her glove or tech more. Mako had some action but its still not much.

This week's thoughts on LoK

Tenzin's kids. In book 1 only Jinora got development. Now I see growth and debth in all of them.

 

- Mako has finally potential for character development! He along with his brother has been standing still all along, but now he knows something is wrong. I really hope it isn't some of the souths that hired the Agni Kais..

- I agree with Mako, what is it with Korra and taking sides?

- Korra is seriously impossible to cooperate with. How can anyone get along with her?

- Eska has been compared to Azula. While I do see the point, Eska is nowhere near Azula in terms of being a good character. We know why Azula is psychotic and it makes completely sense. Eska's madness however, is being not being treated seriously. Or rather it's Bolin that doesn't treat it seriously. But I don't think she is a well thought out character, I think the creators think of the twins as interesting additions to the show. Their father is evil, but they look like they've been treated the same so why are they so different in this aspect? Desna is a jerk, but I don't think he is a madman.

- The twins are promising antagonists because they are superpowerful.

- When Korra slams Mako's desk in the door( ), I thought her anger was supposed to be treated seriously. Then Lin comes in and makes her comment(which was funny, I laughed out loud), but it made it seem like "crazy girlfriends" are normal in the Avatar world. That upsets me, because Korra's behaviour shouldn't be accepted, whether it be man or woman.

- That was before the break up though, because I gotta give creds to Korra; She took it quite well. It was the first time she had been sad and upset about Mako, not just furious.

- I know mydearbeloved, 5 episodes! But they had 6 months, at least give them that. I wonder what they did during those 6 months? If she was like this all along, Mako would've probably broken up a way back then. He isn't as submissive as his brother, and can't handle bullcrap.

- Wish Bolin could be more. More than what he is now. Because he is a comic relief, he matters so little that Varrick has to give him plot contributation. : D Let's hope that's more than comedy too, because he looks like a stripper, but it has potential to be some propaganda stuff.

 

Prediction for next week;

Korra will be announced dead. The twins left her to die and probably think she is. You remember the picture of Asami and Bolin crying? Wonder what made them so sad. And Mako will feel bad about it, of course. He'll be protective of her and they'll apologize, but hopefully not get together again before they, mostly Korra has either learned their lession or just generally matured. And I also think Team Avatar will follow and look after Korra.

 

I think Korra is going into the spiritworld soon. The beginnings episodes start in two weeks. I wonder what the sting is about? A sting is..a tiny stab, a beesting? The next episode is called "The sting", I wonder what it means? Being told someone is dead could be a mental sting, but I would use a different word so I'm really curious on the upcoming synopsis.
