Some can be taken at face value, but its more on experience from what you see. I mean for most of us, we know the chaos that commenced once 631 came about, yes many NH fans were angry at Minato and Naruto, yet some also hated Sakura even though she didn't directly start that stuff. NS has its ugly side of fans too but I wouldn't consider throwing stuff like that around, die for our ship isn't so much an actual trope but rather what people following it do. The characters have tropes in terms of story design, if anything the tvtropes site is for well, story themes, elements, etc. Its describes things that tend to have some correlation or design with variances and its a pretty good one at that. One trope I like is the big red button, always there to blow stuff up. Anyways what you posted again, its not tropes, just a description of how some people tend to see the fan pairing stuff a bit too much. We have our views but it shouldn't be up as an actual story trope thing when fans are not part of the story at all. As fans, those described under it were just those who caused actions and opinions, not tropes.

Well if you think about it you'll realize that she never had any relevance in the romantic subplot. Because there is no real love triangle between Naruto, Sakura and Hinata. It's something that I like to call half of a love triangle.

That first line. That is a nice way to put it.

Yeah, but really, ironically, I think many missed the point of her character and sadly, went to love instead. I'm not a fan but even I know that.

Problem some people don't realize is who the main character actually is, and that's well naruto. Naruto's goals have priority over all other characters, the lower main characters have more precedence mainly Sasuke and then a fluxing of priority between sakura and Kakashi. Basically it's just plot circulation, who does the fictional universe revolve around most of the time? It's kinda like the zelda games or mass effect 3, everything happens to link cause well he is always chosen, for your version of Shepard what you say goes and causes other story line effects, it's the same in avatar (hell avatar has been perfect in mocking the chosen one trope and the world revolves around the avatar themselves aspect) it's nothing new. It's kinda like a spoils of war deal, who has first dibs? Naruto. It's the Main character who has precedence over the others. A side character can hope for something, but it's not likely to always happen now is it? I mean if hinata hopes to be with naruto then what about inos hopes over Sasuke or rather tenten having wished to be tsunades apprentice? What about seugetsus hopes to gain all 7 swordsman weapons. Same with orochimaru a real goal of why he wanted to crush the leaf, we don't know what his original goal was but he didn't complete his goal now. Same with Danzo who wanted to be hokage. He had good but underhanded reasons to be hokage. He didn't reach his goal entirely yet he still has more plot relevance than hinata. See, hinatas goals fall back behind others, that's just a fact. Naruto supersedes everyone.

It's 615 in a nutshell. I'm really disappointed with Hinata in that chapter. I mean that boy sacrificed his own life to save both Naruto and Hinata. He finally came full circle with himself, he finally understood what his father did. He understood what it means to sacrifice your own life in order to save your friends/family. It's true Hinata did cry for Neji when he died and her tears were genuine. But the moment she got what she wanted, she completely forgot about Neji. We have Naruto having a monologue and he thanks Neji then we have Hinata's monologue and she comments about Naruto's big and strong hand.   In 617 or 618 we have Lee holding Neji in his arms crying over him then having a flashback about him so from this we understand there was a bond between them. Hinata doesn't have a flashback of herself and Neji or a monologue where she talks about Neji or anything. And in 633 Hinata finally has a flashback of Neji then a flashback with Naruto then she completely forgets about Neji again and says that she wants to stand by Naruto's side or whatever.  

I don't want Hinata to fight against Madara and hold her ground because that's insane, stupid and ridiculous. I just want her to be grateful that Neji gave up his own life and saved her. Am I asking for too much? Is a simple "Thank you" that difficult to say?

From what I understood he used to work as an animator for a couple of years, probably for the Detective Conan Anime, his style is identical!!!
But anyway he made a lot of cool crossovers featuring Conan and other anime series, you might have seen few of his artworks on Tumblr or on other sites, his Shingeki no Kyojin x Dectective Conan one is pretty famous :)
He also draws Naruto a lot, especially Sakura! These are my top favorite, I thought it would be a pity to not share these with you, they are too cute!! Enjoy!

Wow Lady GT those are incredible pictures. I love the button with our favorite pairings on it. Now I'm curious too about the square in one of those pictures that shows Kushina with Sakura in the background, rather its also funny how it says Sakura Haruno in the box above it. (But who are we kidding RTN was just a way to appease us NS fans and let us down easy with NH going canon )

A NH argument I've read say that because Hinata loves Naruto, her character would be ruined if NS happens. 

 

If that were a logical or rational argument, then the following would also be true:

 

1. Jiraiya's love for Tsunade was never realized, so his character was ruined.

2. Naruto loves Sakura, so if he doesn't win her heart his character will be ruined.

3. Sakura loves Sasuke, so if she doesn't win his heart her character will be ruined.*

4. Rock Lee loves Sakura, so if he doesn't win her heart his character will be ruined.

5. Karin loves Sasuke, so if she doesn't win his heart her character will be ruined.

 

If feelings not being returned ruins them, then Kishimoto has written himself into a corner since (excluding Jiraiya) each character's romantic aspirations are in direct conflict with another character.

 

* Sakura has technically declared love for both Sasuke, and more recently Naruto.

 

Therefore, it makes far more sense that the positive resolution of romantic feelings will occur for the lead characters -- Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura.  Since Sakura has shown signs of changing her romantic feelings to Naruto, and Sasuke couldn't care less if anyone loves him -- much less Sakura, then it's safe to assume the following:

 

1. Naruto will win Sakura's heart.

2. Sasuke will remain alone or with Karin.

3. Rock Lee will accept Sakura's love for Naruto and move on with his life.

4. Hinata will accept Naruto's love for Sakura and move on with her life.

 

No character will be "ruined" but instead will fulfill their plot purposes -- which, lets face it, have been pretty obvious since Chapter 3.

I just love how even for a simple movie there is merchandise showing NS MK stuff, heh not saying anything canon but NS MK merchandise apparently exists. They could have just put Naruto and his parents on those, but hey might as well throw Sakura in for good reason, she is the secondary protagonist in road to ninja. Let alone the heroine of the series. That stuff hits NS fans in the feels, where it makes us happy.

I see your point about how the same logic should be applied to everyone, but the NH argument isn't completely false actually. The problem lies in one of the biggest flaws I see in Hinata's character: her lack of a proper purpose in life. I mean, what is Hinata's real goal? What does she expect to achieve after the war, or even as a Konoha Shinobi? Every time she's got personal and physical growth, every time her character has shown proper development, the reasons are Naruto and nothing else.

 

Though I find it nice and all that Naruto has so much influence in someone's life to the point of changing it for better, I can't help but to think what's more in there for Hinata? Why doesn't she strive for being a great Ninja for the village instead of just for Naruto's acknowledgement? Something I would love to see is Hinata giving some more thoughts about her team. I'm going to use Ino as an example: She is always seen interacting with Shikamaru and Chouji, she definitely worries about them and is always criticizing their respective flaws (Shikamaru's laziness and Chouji's appetite). I don't see that kind of attitude from Hinata. She is barely seen interacting with Kiba outside their missions. And Shino... sigh~ I pity this guy.... He needs lots and lots of attention and even love. There's so much things that Hinata could have done for her team... yet I've seen nothing.

 

That being said, I understand why Hinata's supporters want her to be with Naruto at all cost. It has been her main and only purpose after all. 

But it would be a much proper development for her character to move on from Naruto, a very mature decision in my opinion. Not only she'd acknowledge Naruto's feelings, but this could give her a whole new purpose in life. Begin from zero and start a new future for herself and her clan while keeping Naruto's nindo, that is something I would respect.

I understand what you're saying, Darkness.  However, I would argue it differently.  What would harm Hinata's character is not her fandom's argument -- that if she doesn't end up with Naruto she's "ruined."  What "ruins" her is exactly what you've said -- that she apparently has no focus or purpose beyond her adulation for Naruto.  That ruins her whether she were to end up with Naruto or not, and only makes her fandom's argument invalid twice over.

 

Hinata's characterization could be validated and end the saga on a positive note if she accepted Naruto's love for Sakura, and moved on to find another, better purpose for herself such as being strong and brave for herself and her clan.  And that is not her fandom's argument.

 

And Shino... sigh~ I pity this guy.... He needs lots and lots of attention and even love.

 

I love Shino, and you're right -- he deserves more attention and love than he gets.  For anyone who might be interested in reading fan fiction wherein Shino does shine, get attention, and love?  I recommend the Shino/Tenten fics by Fanwoman, particularly Taking Chances.  I love her Shino.  He's really cool.
