Interesting. Apparently the guy who voices Natsu voiced Ling Yao on Fullmetal Alchemist. I liked him in that role, but I'm not sure how well he can play someone with Natsu's personality. Lucy's voice doesn't sound like what I was expecting either. I guess I imagined Natsu and Lucy being voiced by Yuri Lowenthal and Michelle Ruff when I started reading the manga, since those two voiced Haru and Elie in the Rave Master dub.
They did great job casting Erza's VA though, and I'm looking forward to seeing how everyone else sounds. I'm curious who's gonna voice Gajeel. It'd be funny if they got David Vincent, I've always thought of Gajeel as Fairy Tail's Grimmjow.

I'll probably check it out when it gets farther though, I doubt it'll take me that long to get used to. The problem with dubs is that, if you start watching the subbed anime first, the dub will be always seem awkward. It's hard to erase first impressions, so I think that's a big reason dubs tend to get a bad rep with hardcore fans. I've seen amazing dubs that still seem to get a lot of hate. As for this dub, Funimation seems to have massive ups and downs concerning quality, with Dragonball and Fullmetal Alchemist being on almost opposite ends of that spectrum, so I'm going to defer judgment until I have a chance to get used to the voices. On top of that, the Fairy Tail-verse isn't an entirely Japanese setting, so that could play a factor into how awkward/natural the voices sound.

That's not to say that dubs are perfect by any means. It's already been mentioned, but that Dragonball (Z) dub was just...

So, Wendy will learn an new dragon shout, erm, I mean an dragon spell! Another tournament arc, but at least that coliseum looks pretty cool, but the way the others are talking, I think this competition might not even envolve fighting.

Is it me or does this Manga seem to specialise in hyping things up one week, and the next completely kill the buzz it built, like when we thought the Master finally died a noble death only for the others to come back to save him, then the time skip, thinking maybe they were in another world or something and Zeref being in control only to find they'd been frozen in time and there doesn't seem to be any Zeref news, and now last week's climax and then this weeks explanation.

Oh boy, one of these team tournament arcs, where all of the cliches are coming together and what not, thought Natsu talking about Lucy's constipation problems was pretty hilarious and the whole there might be dragons from that one alternate universe that might be around the real world

Well, when an mangaka trolls, is most likely because they can't come up with an good story.

But even we can come up with an interesting idea on the timeskip. I really hope that the story will get better and he actually planned everything out nicely like how Oda does. I don't like to see a series that I'm following go downhill.

Come on.....I don't think Mashima is as bad as Kubo. He throws crazy plot twists everytime and it's nowhere near as redundant as Kubo's IMO. And besides, for all we know, Porlyusica could be lying to keep up her cover in that she really is Grandine If Mashima throws that in again, expect to be mind blown and realize we were all geniusly trolled LOL.

Okay, today's chapter was the Obligatory Beach Episode. Nothing but fluff. On the other hand, there are some serious character defining moments lurking in this: Confirmation of Levy liking Gajeel (excuse me while I canon!squee here), a solid blow to Asexual!Natsu and to some extent Innocent!Natsu and Innocent!Gray, and Lucy growing as a mage in her own way.

I liked it. Even though it's a chapter of marshmallow, I think the FT crew deserved a vacation.

The more I read the more sure I am that Lucy will play a vital role with the ultimate power similar to Elie did in Rave Master. Nearly everyone is paired up, even Wendy and Romeo, who Hiro had a timeskip for just to make possible.
