As Michiru's Mirror 's beta, I can tell you that yes, she is obviously a girl and as far as I know, she is not a member on this site.

I was browsing through this website and found this thread where her story "Moving On" was praised and recieved quite a warm reception so I sent her the link, just to show her some outside feedback other than FF.net.

What I didn't realize was that this thread also contained negative criticisms of her story "Finding Sakura." I didn't get to read it fully seeing as how its about 41+ pages worth of posts...

Obviously this was an accidental mistake on my part.....*sighs* (Mea culpa)

I think those were just in the last day or so while the positive comments about Moving On had been earlier (when it first went up).

Anyway, I've just left a review on her fic explaining my own reactions to it.

Like i wrote before, i think Michiru's Mirror is a really good writer, and the reason i got scared off "Finding Sakura" is just beacus off that, she wrote that story so darn good her description was so crystal clear that it feelt like i was Naruto watching Sai doing the vertical "limbo" whit Sakura.

It might have been my own fault, she might have made a warning in a AN and i didn't read it.

The reason i won't read "Moving On" is that it seems kinda angsty, and im a fluff guy, i can read mild angst but noting more, plus, "Finding Sakura" is stuck in the back of my head, i know it's harsh of me to judge her by just 1 story alone...but i don't want to have another "WTF!?!" experience like that, thats why i try to avoid her other stories.

Maybe i will go back and read the whole "Finding Sakura" fic and see how it all works out, maybe my judgement on that story came to early.

Heck, i diden't even know what pairing she was aiming for, but being a avid Naru/Saku fan i didn't particularly like that scene, but thanks to some members on this bord i now know, and thinking it thru it feels even more "WTF?" now.

But as i said, i might have made a to early judgement on the story, and the only way to find out is to go and read it.

Scratch that re-reading thing, i went back there today to give "Finding Sakura" a new chance and to see if i missjudged the story, but i barley fisnished the first chapter before the agony became to much.

Started jumping chapters and read alittle bit there and a bit here, chapter 10 was ok in my veiw maybe just beacus thats the only real interraction i saw they had, untill she went out to search for Sai that is, but number 11 was rather anti-climatic, my thought after reading it was "............ ?........... Thats it ? No kiss ? No more development on the relationship ?" feelt awfully rushed.

Im kinda amazed it ended Naru/Saku thou, cus the chapters i read focused wery strongly on Sai and Sakura.

I didn't think that I was patient enough to get through the rest of the angst so I skipped ahead to the last two chapters and enjoyed those a lot. Still a bit squicked out about the beginning.

Though I can't speak for MM herself, I can say that after working with her for quite a while, I find that she is a very open-minded writer and welcomes constructive criticisms; she is always trying to find ways on how she can improve while assessing her strengths and weakneses. Her sophomore effort for instance, is proof of that.

I ask if she was a girl because her characterization of Naruto in the story completely threw me off. As far as I know, no guy would accept a girl (easily anyway) who has slept with another guy when he had to witness it; especially if he was in love with the said girl for a long time, and has done so much for her. Also, Naruto was way too easily of accepting Sai in chapter two and beyond. Normally, a guy would tend to avoid the other guy, or beat the **** out of him.

I know Michiru used the reason that "If Naruto can forgive Sasuke for shoving a fist through his chest, he can forgive Sakura for sleeping with another guy." Now, might I remind you, Naruto gave Sasuke a pretty good beating after that. Also, there is so much abuse, physically and mentally, a guy can take before he just, idk, snaps. Just put yourself in Naruto's place. Just imagine your very very VERY best friend just beat the crap out of you and joined the bad guys, and then later you witnessed the guy you're in love with and you guys spend a lot of time together, suddenly with another girl, and they were doing things you wouldn't want them to do.

Chapter 10 was good, but chapter 11 pretty much ruined it.

It does bother me a little bit, but remember, this is a fanfic. Not saying Michiru is a bad author, and many other authors have this problem to, including Kishimoto, but you have to think about some of the things you read.

For instance, can Sai really do what he did in chapter one? The guy is passive through everything. Seeing the opposite gender in the flesh wouldn't affect him much, I don't think.

I went and read a bunch of fluff after that one, and as others have said, the good fluffy ones never stick with you as much as the angsty disturbing ones. Oh well it was to make a point but I was still disturbed.

I saw a picture of Sasori turning my beloved Sakura into one of his puppets. Gave me nightmares even if after I read fluff and looked at cute pictures of NaruSaku.

A pretty nice one-shot. It also appears to be the authors first try at fanfiction as well, and I'd say he did a pretty good job. Though, he lacks emotion in the story, but it's a good read.
