Seriously, why we have to wait long for this one when spoilers are out yet other series within the same magazine gets it early as today. I don't care for Toriko. They had their shot, now give it to Soma.

 

I think that is because unlike the much larger groups that do Naruto, One Piece etc, Casanova is a smaller group, so they have to wait until the chapter scans are made available on the interwebs, so the can clean them and translate etc. where the bigger groups pay for the scans so they get them early.

 

Spoilers got me really hype! I felt so bad for Erina in the last page. Looking forward to Soma's and Erina's father!

On mangahelper, it's been speculated that he was a former third seat alongside Jouchirou and Dojima, and his name is suppoed to be Azari or something like that.

There is no criminal vibe or so around him, but his ideals seem to impose a danger towards Tootsuki Academy. Most interesting thing though is that he lost his guardianship towards Erina when she was only 6 yrs old. He really must have gotten into a fight with his father.

I hope Alice's father gets introduced soon b/c the whole Nakiri drama is getting interesting.

 

Yeah apparently when it was revealed that Jouchirou was the former second seat, the name below was Azari, though he apparently doesn't have the same surename. This has started speculation on his rivalry with Jouchirou leading to Souma's father leaving school before he finished school. Though if it is the same person, that's some foreshadowing, the name was revealed 99 chapter ago.

I'm not sure if Alice's father will get introduced, but it will be interesting if he does, but I'm not sure if he will be important to the story progression so it might not happen.

 

It also appears that Erina's mother has also died, as her grandfather is her legal gaurdian. I wonder if it's a coincidence that both mothers appear to have died around the same time, (that's assuming her grandfather took custody of her when her mother died.

Well Alice having it easy was confirmed from her flashbacks with Ryo, while Erina not having a regular childhood was heavily hinted at during the swimming pool chapter, though I always thought it was because of the pressure of her talent being in such high demand, never thought her father was an arse. I wonder if Alice mentioning how mean Erina used to be at an early age was deliberate to show the influence her father used to have on her at an early age.

 

Then again for me whenever I thought of Erina's parent I always thought of the first page of the oneshot. Why could those two not be the actual parents.

I don't know what I find more attractive, the Million watt smile from Hisako or the flustered vulnerable look from Erina.

 

I don't think I've ever seen Hisako look so cute, that smile could light up New York City, it could guide lost sailers to land, it's blinding. That little frame just made me a little bit of a SouSako? fan,

 

On the other hand, we've also never seen Erina look so flustered and vulnerable, part of you wants to give her a big hug, other more not so nice part of you wants to tease her further embaressed.

 

Oh and the person on Mangahelper who said Souma should be photoshoped with a buquete of flowers in his hand.

Well lets be honest here, compared to other female charactors in the manga, her involvement in the manga has been relatively sparse, she makes a small appearance and then the rest of the arc takes place with her not even being involved further.

 

Everyone knew she was the leading lady and most fans like her (though according to some of the comments here it appears the anime only poison are starting their hate campaign against her.) and want to see more of her being an actual major part in the manga. The current arc seems to be the only one to do that, we've learnt more about her this past few week s than the previous two years combined.

 

So while I wouldn't agree with comments saying she is irrelevant, I would agree she has been neglected, but at the same time this appears to be due to deliberate story progression, you have to give him credit, there must have been allot of fan pressure to include more Erina, but dispite that her involvement has been minimal as the story has not required her to be included as much until recently.

I'm fine with what's going on with Erina. I find it the beginning to be more like going through the ground work of the series. Now, it's time to get the people involved. Many cast we have dealt with or dealing with are ongoing developer. Well, hard to put it, but what I mean is that these characters are like not really made to have backstory that are troubling and such, so they are ok to go over them. Erina is a character with already established problems backstory, so we can't really rush her out of the box, especially if her status is top tier. Well, at least the fans at Japan gets it, so I'm fine with it. So, to me, the ground work is complete, time to have Erina exposed more.

I understand that and I enjoy the pace he is going, in fact...I don't mind her not being involved as it gives a feel that there might be more about her than meets the eye so I don't feel that her character is neglected, I feel like it is done on purpose and showing bits of how she feels will play a part later

Nah, I beat you to it. I already thought of them as a viable ship since the internship program. I really liked how her character was handled back then. I'll be honest, I consider it my OTP in Souma's harem mainly because how much of an underdog she is compared to Erina and Megumi in terms of her relationship with Souma.

Judging by the spoilers, it seems that Azami is definitely out to take over Tootsuki and it's likely that he has illegal channels/means to do so, but Erina is the final piece he needs. I'm guessing that not only he wants Tootsuki, he also intends to control culinary businesses owned by crime lords as well.

Dude's got a massive ego and greed that he'll take them on as well. I wouldn't be surprised if he's going to put his own daughter's virginity on the line against them to get them to agree to a match against him. And then he'll have her fight his matches with herself on the line and this is what he's counting on, by pushing her fear to its limits he can draw out her potential.

Senzaemon probably figured out his shady dealings, and that's why he kicked him out of the family. But this fact is only known to a few, namely Gin, Jouichirou, and a few others like Fumio. But the things is, he doesn't have strong proof to pin him down so that's all he could do. Jouichirou is likely wandering again because he was asked by Senzaemon to investigate Azami's deals in the underworld. Gin, of course knows this, though he only found out after the Summer Camp.

I predict Senzaemon sending Erina to the dorms so that Azami won't be able to influence her and he himself will keep an eye out for his sonn

I think this is where the images are hosted....boy father really does look like a evil git, he makes me think of a final boss from a fighting game, who uses cheap tricks to win.

 

Erina looks really young in that picture, even younger than she did in the first photo we saw of them...oh Erina with her hair up looks nice, the mangaka should draw her with that hairdo more often.

 

Edit: Seriously what's with the hiding of parents face thing? I could understand Souma's mother but what is the point of Hisako's father as well? Is he going to play a big part in the future? Have we already seen him already? That seems odd.
