Actually, I think it has been said that this movie will be considered a part of the official canon in a manner similar to how Strong World is considered to be canon within the One Piece universe.

I've actually been curious as to how the anime team is able to implement such blatant and overt N/H fanservice- what goes through their heads when they write the episodes? I was thinking about this yesterday and it makes my mind boggle

I think it's more like a hint of a twisted ending. Half-canon. It won't happen in the manga, but I can take the bonds and feelings as canon, and the action as..not-so-canon.

Yes. Most of all the other movies were pretty cliche and predictable but I liked a few of them(1st Naruto movie ever and the Lost Tower+the ones Kishimoto was involved in) so I feel that this next one will be more original. However, I don't particulary count it as totally canon. Just canon intereactions . Like between Naruto and Sakura. If there are NS moments in this movie (which I'm almost postive there will be), then we can count it as evidence for the pairing. I know someone has said this before but since Kishimoto is involved, it is "author's intent" of his pairing of choice(which doesn't seem to be NaruHina ).

Additionally I heard Kishi help out with the third movie and if you look at movie 1, 2, 4, and 5 they all have the same description you mention, but the third one was different.
