Nope, it's goes with Kira awaking in nowhere, and his deathgod before him, he suffers every death he wrote into deathnote, and so he must suffer all those 127k of deaths. It's a pretty long time, so he choose to go for king of shinigamis and make a deal, to give something intresting in boring life of those all shinigamis.


I see. The one that I watched was when Near solved the final piece of the puzzle after L died.

That's canon ending, third animated movie, is recap of anime, and it showed some new deathgod, that is ask Ryuk about what happend in human world, and he speaks whole story of Light. In the end - it's hinted, that this new deathgod - is Light. Because it was said that those who use Death Note - not going to heaven or hell.
