Chapter 389 is out!

Haha, Soi Fon really doesn't like Urahara. XD So that's why she didn't want to admit to knowing Hacchi. Hacchi is just brilliant. This chapter showed us just what he can do and Soi Fon's side of the deal made me smile. I wonder if Barragan will really be defeated though; he's been portrayed to be so invincible. I doubt a single shot like that would take him out.

Looking forward to seeing the other fights.

Hopefully the creepy nightmarish Barragan will stay down for the count, but more than likely Hacchi's 4 powerful seals and Soi Fon's shock wave from the blast should crumble Mr. Skeleton Bones down for good. (I'm starting to wonder if he should have been made the Primera.)

I was thinking it was going to take like a healing power to remove the curse from Barragan killing him or turn him back to his original human like form were he could be killed.

Can't wait to get to the Hitsugiya/Hiori/Lisa fight with my favorite Tercera Espada and a couple panels of Ichigo and Co. back at Hueco Mundo would be nice.

In my opinion Shinji will wind up fighting Gin (they both got the smiling thing going on all the time) and the Aizen we see is a mere illusion to throw people off, while he secretly finds more info or what ever he is wanting to obtain while the others are buying him time just like Urahara said about Aizen using Buttress and the fake Hokiyu as bait.

As always, good chapter. Barragan got a LITTLE too cocky with Hacchi, and got his end for making Soi Fon lose her arm.

Wow a fight based heavily on kido/bakudo. Don't think we've seen a whole chapter dedicated to it and we even got a new incantation which was pretty cool! Hacchi made a nice plan of trapping Barragan in the box and then Soifon shoots the missile inside it. Even though she had to keep her kitteny attitude with telling him to put Urahara in a box for a month lol. Pretty sure this might hurt Barry and he'll showcase some new moves causing Hacchi to use his mask. I actually had to read and figure this chapter out. Also curious about the chapter title. Does Barragan mean that if you try to gain immortality that it's actually insulting and like spitting on your own God? Or did he call himself the God...even though Shinigami are Death Gods...bah Kubo and his weird chapter titles.

Anyway, sadly got a two weeks wait till the next chapter. Looking forward to it.

Man, Hacchi really knows how to put on a show with his kido. Even managed to make a nice little building to trap Barragan in, lol. I'm seriously not that surprised though; Hacchi doesn't seem like much of a straight-forward fighting type of guy anyway. Best that he leaves it to the feisty ones like Soi Fon Gotta love that tough-captain attitude of hers.

I can't help but love Soi's bankai.

I'm curious about what Kubo's got planned. He ended on a good note for his two week break, in my opinion. I only hope that we get to see some more bankai soon. Gah, too many characters that haven't shown their true powers yet!

Also curious about the chapter title. Does Barragan mean that if you try to gain immortality that it's actually insulting and like spitting on your own God? Or did he call himself the God...even though Shinigami are Death Gods...bah Kubo and his weird chapter titles.

Yeah, I thought about that too. Though, if I remember correctly during Ikkaku's conversation with Choe Neng Poww, Choe referred to Barragan as his god. Maybe Barragan sees himself in a similar light? Eh...though Barragan also sounded like he was referring to some higher being, not himself.

Yeah, agreed. Tite Kubo really is an enigma. :/

Hacchi compliments Soifon: You can even get in through the crack in the barriers.

Soifon: I have a limit of 1 shot per 3 days, I did 2 shots in one day…considering I’ll be getting something in return. (TN: it’s implied that this is something good…like trapping up Urahara for 1 month XD)

Barragan seems to have eaten up the attack and he still lives

(Soifon and Hacchi) face the “Komundoru” god and went “WTF” in surprise. (TN: I’m assuming the “god” is Barragan. Someone on 2ch says Nja really meant “Hueco Mundo”, so…)

Barragan starts going berserk and spitting out his Death breath ceaselessly.

The right hand (not sure who it belongs to、Edit: judging from responses on 2ch, it’s probably Barragan himself) was eaten by the breath and starts to age, but was stopped by the barrier. Then it went inside Barragan’s stomach/midsection.
(TN: Confusing, this part)

Barragan destroyed the entire severed right hand.

English Translation

It’s Hacchi’s right hand that is touched by the death breath and begins to rot. He uses a barrier to cut it off and throws it at Barragan.

Barragan angrily spews his death breath. Hacchi dons his mask and uses a barrier to defend, but it rots.

Barragan keeps quietly repeating, “I am the God of Hueco Mundo. Only my power is absolute and supreme.”

While he goes on saying things like, “Your lives, and the lives of ants appear the same to me,” Hacchi’s right arm starts disappearing.

Barragan: “Oops, what’s wrong with your right arm?”

Hacchi: “Because your powers are the only absolute in the world I present this to you.”

At the end, Hacchi says that because there are no other gods in SS besides Shinigami he doesn’t understand the importance of his words.

“Forgive me my disbelieve, God of Hueco Mundo.”

As he says this Baragan is disintegrates

OMG kittening awesome chapter. Jesus Christ that was pure freaking win. Enjoyed this chapter from start to end and the dialogue was just epic. I love how Kubo does his dialogue and character interaction! Hacchi has found new level of respect for how Goddamn badass he was in this chapter.

BTW calling it now, second resurrection for Barragan as Kubo loves trolling!

Heh, figures; if none of their powers work against the enemy, why don't you just the enemy's powers against them? Ingenius thinking on Hacchi's part. I was wondering how the heck they were going to pull it off and kill Barragan if he was able to survive Soi Fon's bankai from close range.

Now that leaves just Harribel and Stark, who seem to be a bit more careful in a fight, seeing as they don't have the power to 'age' things like Barragan did.

There's also the whole crew back in Hueco Mundo fighting against Yammyzilla right now. Wonder how they're doing.

It was a good end for someone like Barragan, having his own ability be his death after arrogantly pointing out it was the ultimate power anyways. In the end the power destroys the wielder. Kinda seems out of order with #2 dying before #3, but I guess Kubo gave Harribel more screen time than Barragan so she was meant to be a more important character than he was.

I am noticing that the majority of the espada have died due to the 'death' they are named for. Aaroniero -> greed, Szayel -> insanity, Nnoitra -> despair, Zomari -> intoxication, Barragan -> aging. The only two who seem to have overcome their assigned 'deaths' are Grimmjow and Ulquiorra. Grimmy (destruction) through Ichigo telling him destroying everything and standing alone as king isn't a way to live, Ulquiorra (nihilism) by receiving a heart.

Oh yes. Trying to convince a soldier that serving her master is wrong, and she'll immediately flock to the good side. :zaru

It's a fanfiction idea, and personally doesn't suit Halibel. I can see Grimmjow maybe helping, but Halibel is out of the question.
