Well considering the spoiler pretty much told us what we needed to know, not much to say about this chapter, the number two seat steals the show once again. I'm not sure what to make of the number one seat, is it a good thing that he specialises in high quality ingredients to a point his own identity is not stamped on the dish, or is it a a strength that makes the ingredients stand out so well that his personality doesn't need to be stamped on it, in essence the food itself does the talking?

 

It's like with Akira, over specialising on one area was touted as a shortcoming but in the end was given the reason why he won.

 

Who knew Souma was such a sly individual, forcing a favour on somone just to ask them to repay it later...what sly individual...next week should be good, or the spoilers that come out late tomorow will be an interesting read,

With Satoshi it feels like, he's just there though XD He's like in the middle of the fights. Btw, who do you think will be 1st seat the next year? I'm betting it's Satoshi. Even though we haven't seen his true cooking potential yet, I just have a feeling it'll be him. Or maybe it'll be glasses girl since she's a rank above him.
Poor Erina :( I'm glad though that thanks to Soma, Hisako has tried to be more there for her on a personal level.

I feel like Hisako will ask Soma to help Erina. There's a reason why they became friends before Erina start becoming more prominent or rather more of her insight becoming visible. Like Gin and his backstory, Erina takes time, but it shows bits-by-bits on her background and we now found the problem or perhaps one of the main problem: her father.

Next week, it should be really good, as it could be a start of game changing process.

Spoilers are out, Oh boy looks like Daddy Nakira is one evil git, not a pleasant person at all, infact sounds downright nasty. I'm just hoping that we don't end up with another one of them Uchiha situations, where in reality he was misunderstood, and in reality he is behaving this way as he does not like the teaching methods of Tooksuki and wants to change them...I'm seriously getting tired of manga trying to justify the antogonists actions and make them out to be misunderstood heroes. Seriously hope that doesn't happen here.

 

Interesting flashback, seems both Nakira and Souma have the same goal, both want acknowledgement from the same person, this really is building up an amazing reveal. Can you just imagine Erina's reaction when she finds out the only person that gets her flustered and angry has had his cooking tasted by the one person she wants to taste her cooking? Actually does he taste his sons cooking? I think he's tried his nasty cooking but I can't remember if he's tried his sons dishes or if he's left that upto the judges....I might have to go back to check.

Seriously, why we have to wait long for this one when spoilers are out yet other series within the same magazine gets it early as today. I don't care for Toriko. They had their shot, now give it to Soma.

Spoilers got me really hype! I felt so bad for Erina in the last page. Looking forward to Soma's and Erina's father!

On mangahelper, it's been speculated that he was a former third seat alongside Jouchirou and Dojima, and his name is suppoed to be Azari or something like that.

There is no criminal vibe or so around him, but his ideals seem to impose a danger towards Tootsuki Academy. Most interesting thing though is that he lost his guardianship towards Erina when she was only 6 yrs old. He really must have gotten into a fight with his father.

I hope Alice's father gets introduced soon b/c the whole Nakiri drama is getting interesting.
