Anyone wanna take a crack at where Sasuke and Co are and who their going to meet?

The medic-nin rules set out by Tsunade really do seem like it was made as an excuse for Sakura to not be on the frontline. Seems like there are a handful of reasons why she can't be on the frontline. But even if Sakura did learn Byakugou, I personally wouldn't want her to use it. It's okay for Tsunade, she has Senju and Uzumaki blood in her. She has an incredibly long life, or, would have had an incredibly long life ahead of her. If Sakura were to use that technique, she would have a pretty short life. shamefulcry0js.gif

And as for the flashy, stylish kunoichi vs medic-nin, I honestly prefer the former or at least a mix between the two. Overall, this fanbase just doesn't know how to appreciate medic-ninjutsu. BUT, if she's going to be a medic-nin, Kishi should at least show off her skill in medical ninjutsu, we hardly see anything. Actually seems a little half-assed tbh. And when you have Naruto/Kurama handing out there chakra, which rejuvenates the body, it really does make medical ninjutsu seem like it doesn't require much skill.

1) Sakura is actually going to fight this time! She won't be in the medical tent - she's on Kakashi's team, after all!
2) Maybe Sakura will play a role in sealing Zabuza & Hakku, given their history with Team 7!
3) Maybe Sakura will be confronted by Chiyo-baa-san's Edo Tensei
4) She can't stay in the medical tent for long. She's supposed to be on Kakashi's team...
5) Sakura's being confessed to? Maybe now her feelings for Naruto will be revealed!
6) Sakura kicked that Zetsu clone's butt! Maybe now she'll get to fight?
7) Naruto is saving everyone! Does that means he and Sakura will get some significant panel time together?
8) Hinata couldn't possibly get more panel time with Naruto than Sakura did though... right?
9) It's okay, because Sakura is going to stand out when she joins the battle with Naruto. They're going to be together this time! She said so herself.
10) Oooo~ Obi/Rin Naru/Saku parallel! This is proof that Sakura will play a more significant role once she arrives!
11) Sakura has been shown at least once in every chapter where she keeps narrowly avoiding attacks. Maybe Obito is going to target her!?
12) Sakura's reaction to 615 means something, for sure. We'll find out next chapter, hopefully!
13) That color spread is awesome! It means Kishi hasn't forgotten about his heroine! Now she's going to start kicking some butt...right?

Another one to cross off the list... ermm.gif

Seeing this, it does seem like Sakura has become irrelevant. People say Sakura is the heroine of this story, but we haven't seen her do anything truly heroic since the Rescue Arc (...I think). I guess all I can do now is hope Kishimoto reaffirms that in the actual story in the near future.

Finally, I read 617 again, all I have to say is, now that Madara and Obito(I think) have been disconnected from the Juubi, I hope it actually starts doing true damage. I have a feeling that the Juubi will morph again will become uncontrollable. Also, is it strange that I'd prefer Orochimaru with those epic shoulders? Lol.

I think you guys are taking those medic rules too seriously.

They were put in place during the Sasori fight for a reason; because Sakura, a medic, was fighting. I doubt they have any relevance to the plot now, at all.

And I also think Sakura/Sai were excluded on purpose. Kishi drew everyone except for those two.

The medic rules so far two exceptations.

1. The medic has enough combat skills enough to take care of her/himself, Sakura should be in this case right now.
2. The medic has no other choice to fight because there is no one around to do the job, this was the case in her fight with Sasori.

I'm not quite sure if this was discussed or mentioned, however I came across something that I'd like an opinion on, regarding the coverspread on 616.

QUOTE
An onna-bugeisha (女武芸者?) was a type of female warrior belonging to the Japanese upper class. Many wives, widows, daughters, and rebels answered the call of duty by engaging in battle, commonly alongside samurai men. They were members of the bushi (samurai) class in feudal Japan and were trained in the use of weapons to protect their household, family, and honor in times of war. They also represented a divergence from the traditional “housewife” role of the Japanese woman. They are sometimes mistakenly referred to as female samurai, although this is an oversimplification. Onna bugeisha were very important people in ancient Japan. Significant icons such as Empress Jingu, Tomoe Gozen, Nakano Takeko, and Hōjō Masako were all onna bugeisha who came to have a significant impact on Japan.

Does anyone think that Kishimoto was trying to suggest something with Sakura along Naruto, dressed as an "onna-bugeisha," representing the wife of a Samurai/Emperor. Or, in this case, "hero?"

Naruto/Kurama handing out chakra, with not even one drawback, doesn't that seem just a tad OP? He's going to wear out eventually, right? And if the Juubi starts gobbling up ninja with kyuubi cloaks, he would be that closer to his complete form and sh!t would really hit the fan.

If he failed so hard with sakura, how come shes your favourite character? Dont you see it as insulting kishi when your stating that hes doing bad writing in every post? So hes a bad writer because hes didnt gave sakura that much screentime since the alliance returned? How can you say that, you dont even know what hes planing with her. Last chapter everything seemed ok and he made that art with naruto and sakura as heroes and now after a chapter without sakura in it its just all forgotten ? Just intresting how you guys view things dont you agree?

I like Sakura because she's actually realistic and has flaws. Unfortunately, the only things ever being focused by the majority of the goldfish attention-span fanbase are her flaws. That's why you have all these people saying "Hinata is better for Naruto" because she seemingly has no downsides. All she ever does is appear randomly and say "Omg I love him so much look at his big hand."

Hinata doesn't have any serious emotional issues to plow through. She's empty. A cipher. Sorry, but I'll be the one to say it. She is extremely one-dimensional. If Naruto died she would cease to exist as she is now. Granted, this isn't all her fault Kishi is kitten-terrible with female characters but she is what she is.

The reason the fanbase can be so supportive of Naruto is because he is a hero and protagonist. He's gotten through hardships and come out on time and in the positive which makes him likeable. Sakura's fanbase is pissed because she's supposed to be the "heroine" but she's being denied the same development and success the other characters are having spoonfed to them, even when she, arguably, needs it the most of all the major recurring characters.

People get mad because Sakura is falling through this crack of not quite being a main character and not quite being a side character. We keep being told she's a main character then she gets sidelined and dismissed repeatedly by her creator who, quite accidentally, created a very realistic and likeable female lead.

In the case of Sakura's heroine status, it truly doesn't matter that much if she shows up all the time. Not if she's always sidelined constantly in favor of the two male leads. For this, the opposing argument is "Quality over Quantity". Wow, I can't believe a NS fan is using the "Quality over Quanity" to make a point mellow.gif . It's nice Sakura's not invisible and you actually know she's there, but if you compare her to Sasuke and Naruto, it's like she's a frickin' side character. While I'd be okay if Sakura's importance still wasn't the same as them, I'd like her to at least be close. Close in epic fight counts. Sasuke? 6. Naruto? 6 or more. Sakura? 1. dry.gif

I see some of the problems the haters have with her. Unlike them, I blame Kishimoto. He utterly failed at creating a top heroine equal in importance to the main character. Emotional support? Fine until 615. Hinata was the one who was there in one of the darkest moments of his life. I understand she needed crapload of development because of her bad character flaws, but a moment of that caliber was overboard. It was heroine-worthy. If Sakura was the one doing that, don't you think some people would stop being so quick to write her off as unimportant? Kishimoto missed another opportunity to make her shine. The majority of the fanbase feels like their beliefs that Hinata is completely crucial to the plot were just be reinforced. Misguided as it is, can you honestly blame them completely?

My point is, no matter what, Sakura and her potential are wasted. She was screwed over, simple as that. Even if Kishimoto does give her another shining moment like I hope, it'd never be enough to erase of the years of injustice and neglect he had forced on Sakura. The only way she could've truly been the best of her potential are in fanfictions, where we can actually use that correctly and in a satisfying way.

I'm not being pessimestic, this is realism. Ever since I first found this site, it's constantly littered with comments like "Sakura will do this" or "Sakura should do this". It's actually sad how much we talk about Sakura doing something. Never do we have to worry about Sasuke not fighting or Naruto. We never mention it, because we already know it'll happen. Sasuke/Naruto fans have nothing to worry about. Sakura's fanbase is thick with disappointment and has been for years. sleep.gif

As for the lack of Sakura in this chapter. It does seem conspicuous especially since in the previous chapters (with the exception of 616 and this chapter) we have had Sakura illustrated in some small panel.

That's the word that we have to use because that's what it's come to. It's that word that's truly embarrassing because Kishi has neglected this character so much that it has lead us Sakura fans to use the word "surprise".

Surprising, isn't it? That our expectations of our heroine has steadily plummeted. Is it possible to hand over the rights to Sakura's character? Preferably to Oda?

I just can't get over how everyone is worrying over this lack of Sakura.

A. Is it really anything new? We've been going through this drought forever. Lets be happy she gets more development as a whole then the other Kunoichi. I mean without her there we could pretty much say that women in Naruto-verse are like mythical unicorns or something.

Secondly, the manga's not over yet folks. Who knows how many chapters are actually going to be released? there's more then enough time for things to turn around for her. ( Will it? Dunno, guess we'll have to keep reading.)

Is her lack of development disappointing? Yes. Oh God yes. But it's been happening since forever, yet it hasn't really kept us from liking her. Personally, I don't only enjoy Sakura's character because she's a brawler but because of what she represents.

Every girl can change.

Even "annoying" and "useless" people can prevail and turn themselves around.

It's not just her abilities but her nature that matters on whether she's relevant or not. Is she relatable to those who are open minded enough and unbiased? absolutely. She's like every other human being in the world ( Taking away super strength and what not) she makes mistakes, she fails, she struggles but at the end of the day she tries her best to support the people she loves and does what she can for others. Isn't that the epitome of humanity?

Those who fail to realize those intrinsic qualities of hers, are sad individuals because it means they lack an understanding of empathy and compassion.

Although I'm certainly not adverse to seeing her whoop some butt sometime soon and cementing those facts once again.

I'm not going to be surprised when she does something.

I'll be surprised when she does nothing.

Just relax, it's been two chapters your over reacting. These characters like Hinata are getting some attention after not being in the manga for how many years. Yes Sakura wasn't in this chapter, and there's obviously a reason for that. So just stay calm your over reacting way beyond normal means. This isn't a manga like bleach where every little thing has to deal with the main cast. At the end of the day Sakura is still the main heroine. Just be patient. Ignore those nh shippers, they've always been insane. At the end of the war when all is said and done, she will have had a Parton the arc and she will have mad a significant contribution. After that, it's gonna be Hinata and every other support staff that's gonna disappear for good, well from being truly relevant from the story. Read some of my other posts of you want more incouragement. Just wait it out and see. You are freaking out way beyond the norm.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sakura does something. I'd just be shouting "Yes! Finally, Kishimoto is coming through! He's backing up his excuses now!" It's less to do with being surprised than just being relieved that he's giving her something to do. If I see Sakura heel kick the Juubi or punch the crap out of Obito, my fangirling squeals with not end for several minutes. w00t.gif

Honestly, I have similiar feelings over Kishi's handle over both Hinata and Sakura. Still indifferent to Hinata, still love Sakura to bits. I'm just both disappointed in how he's executing them. Happy Hinata has some confidence, disappointed she's still Naruto's irrational #1 fan. Glad Sakura wants to help Naruto no matter what, upset we haven't seen anything yet. I try to be patient with Kishi, but honestly ... I'm not a patient person.

Like if I see Hinata bring up her heiress role and promise herself that she will lead her Clan in honor of Neji's sacrifice, I'd be so happy that Kishimoto is finally giving me reason to like her. I will say "Yes! Hinata can prove Naruto's not more important! Her tunnel vision has a limit!" I'd probably be fangirling over that for a while, too.

Amazingly, my faith in Hinata changing her "Naruto-kun" obsession is even more low than my hope that Sakura does something purely awesome (To some extent, I believe she'll do something. I just can't say I'd forgive Kishi for giving her the shaft the entire series). Boy, does that say something on Hinata's character. mellow.gif
