I actually thought the ending was very bittersweet, and understable, if you look deeply in it's meaning, but the final scene feels like such an troll and a betrayal of the developers with the players, and it's what get me really pissed, I would rather not spoil it. The funny thing is that the song that plays during the ending is so beautiful that almost fools me into thinking the ending is acceptable, lol.

Do you enjoy piano Kushina?

Ah, gotcha. Dunno if I'll ever get around to playing the games myself, but I'm sure I'll watch my brother play them at some point.

I do like the piano; that song was beautiful =]

(not to just cut the conversation off, but i've gotta go get showered so i can meet my parents for dinner. i'll be back on later tonight though.)

Akuma to Love Song, Chapter 54:

  • Meguro. GO. AWAY.
  • Kurosu. WHAT WHAT WHAT ARE YOU DOING
  • Maria. Really? "This boy makes me feel at ease, which is something I've been working towards throughout the whole series... But THAT boy makes my heart DOKIDOKI so I'mma blush at him haaaaarrrdddd~"
  • Maria, again. If the way you're behaving around Meguro is how your "love" transforms your character, then I hate hate hate it. It changes you from the unique shoujo lead that you are to a tyical, boring, romance-driven character.
  • Kurosu, again. I like yo jealous face, boy, I really do. But please. What you're doing isn't going to help anything.
  • Meguro, again. YOU. WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU MAN. You used to be slightly interesting--not very, but slightly. Now you're obnoxious, constantly making poor decisions, constantly moping around--and now this thing with your dad; can we just have this be the resolution for your involvement with Maria? She helps you work through your issues with Daddy, and then you run off somewhere? Maybe with Anna because I liked the dynamics of your relationship with her?

I just. I'm getting tired of the love-triangle/rectangle/thing that this series has become. I love Kurosu, and how he seems to genuinely help Maria. She's commented a few times on how at ease she feels around him, how he's helped her accept being touched/wanting to touch people, how she's able to still retain her usual personality around him and to actually play with him when he's being a dork.

When she's around Meguro, in constrast? She's always blushing, always staring around with wide, uncertain eyes, comments on how she's not sure how to behave around him anymore but still tries, with varying results. It feels like she's basically hiding who she is in lieu of her feelings, wasting so much effort in trying to accommodate Meguro.

/frustrated beyond belief

I once readed Akuma to love song, I was interested on the art style, wich felt... unusual to me. It also had an unusual heroine, but then the series started to become tipical shoujo melodrama, and then I just dropped it, you should too Kushina, before you get more dissapointed.

I'll keep reading it, just because I've been invested so long that I want to know the end. But I'm nowhere near as in love with it as I was when I started. I still like the art, still like how the main character was/is when she's not pining over Meguro--but I definitely agree: the melodrama has become too much of a focus, and the series overall is losing the qualities that I think set it apart from typical shoujo manga.

I'm 100% positive that I like my studies, and hate writing papers. I love the subjects, my teachers (well, for Sociology, Self-Defense, and English anyway. Math not so much), and my schedule--it's the endless essays and research papers I can't stand. So far, few of the papers I've written have actually felt like they were connected to the subjects I'm studying. Just a bunch of busywork... But whatever; semester's almost half-over anyways, so I can at least be grateful that all of this work is making time fly lol

Mmm, depends, I guess. I used to love the Stargate series, back when the first series was on TV. I like Star Trek, when I catch it (not a die-hard fan, just an "oh look there's nothing else on. Sure why not" kind of fan). *shrug* I guess I like alien shows that feature alien races or cultures, rather than just...alien monsters or something. If that makes sense P;

Woo, going on a hike with my English teacher this weekend for extra credit--it'll be about 6/7 miles, including going through bat caves and climbing to a reservoir. Should be...interesting. I haven't been to the park we're going to in years (it's one of the few places near my town that was prime field-trip territory when I was younger), and I'm unsure of how difficult the path we're taking will be... But, I have a friend going with me, and my teacher assured our class that she goes at the pace of the slowest person.

Have a feeling that'll be me V_______V

Still, I'm kind of excited to be going back--I used to love climbing through the park as a kid, and from what I remember, there aren't any ridiculously hard inclines (which are what I'm worried about most), but then, we used to stick to the same two trails when we went with the elementary/middle schools... Enh. I'll just have to wait and see.

good look with the hiking. I probaly wouldn't do that, since taking how unlucky I am, I would probaly fall in a dark hole while exploring a cavern with no way of crawling out, but hey, that's just me and my misfortune. I'm like Touma of the Index series, minus the super powers and hot girls chasing me.

Oh, and no no no, my manga wouldn't be an epic space opera or anything like that Kushina, something more centered on the suspense and mistery, like, this movie:

Well, to give more detail, it would be set on UK, wich city, I'm not sure yet. It would be about 4 students in the same school who suffer from an encounter all in the same night, they think it's just an dream at first, but after talking to each other and seeing how what happened to each of them is very similar, they realize this might have happened for real. After some investigation, they discover that the sole member of the astronomy club know a lot about the subject, for personal experience, and then, they decide to join him in order to discover the truth, and then, they somehow bocome an investigation club. That scene from the movie I showed you, is kind of the mood I want to set for series, with alien species being one big mistery. I even made an concept for the main character, but it's a little old, and I would probally change it later.

Haha, I ended up having bad luck: got halfway through the hike and felt like I was gonna puke. Had to take my prof's car keys, hike back down with my friend, and wait for the rest of the group in the car. Felt so embarrassed to be the one holding everyone up, and to be the one to quit.

Ooooh that sounds pretty fun, actually. Any thoughts yet on what the aliens will be like?

Well, that's the thing actually, the aliens will be an mystery, like an shadowy presence that stalks the main characters, but they never get a chance to reach them, like they are aways a step ahead. But in question of appearence.... not sure yet XD I would like to make something unique, not too mainstream, nor too exagerated. But for sure they won't look similar to humans, I don't like when that happen in other series.

Well, beyond what they'll appear as to the main characters, what attributes do you have in mind for them that the characters either will or won't discover as the series progresses? I mean, yes they're going to be a huge mystery to the characters, but do you know why they're here, or what they want?

Something unique...considering they're aliens, there's tons of room for design, I think~

Yes, I have the idea formed, mostly. The aliens would be making experiments on them, in order to complete their research. People who are abducted, will suffer either of side effects, they will either develop unique abilities of their own, over exposure to alien technology or they will not be able to handle it and slowly go insane over the exposure to the alien tech, and so main characters would be the fortunate ones. Anything else? I would gladly answer it.

Actually, gotta go, see ya later Kushina~

That sounds cool--though I wonder what sort of research they'll be doing? Could make it more unique by specifying what exactly the aliens are studying in humans, and what experiments they'll be using to get results.

Right-o, talk to you later then alex X)

Well, the thing is, the aliens are researching humans for many years, since the beggining of our evolution, and the reason of our current advancements, is because of their interference in the past, forcing the primitive humans to envolve faster then they should. But now they believe human are not advancing fast enough, and because of that, they start make implants with their own technology on persons, and see the results that this may cause. And since our planet is so overcroweded, they don't care much if some of their experiments suffer side effects, leaving certain persons crippled because of the implants, that sometimes are too strong for their bodies to handle. The implants effects are different on each person, some may develope psychic abilities, super inteligence, of even traits of super strenght. By doing this, the aliens hope to develop the technology that will lead humans to their ultimate stage of evolution. So... whatdoya think?

That sounds fascinating! They're basically viewing us as lab rats, then; little beings in a petri dish that they can manipulate or throw away if they don't get the results they want. What exactly do they have in mind as the "ultimate stage of evolution", then?

They see it as an beign transcending both physical and mental limitations. Beigns that dedicate their efforts to progress, that are not held back by trivial issues, such as sickness, pain, hate, love, envy or war. They want mankind to become perfect beings, they want us to surpass every limit, they want us to become... just like them.

Interesting...so will part of the resolution be that the main group fights back on the idea that by being imperfect beings, we are essentially perfect humans? Or do you have something entirely different in mind?
