I have something to add.
I admit I did freak out and was diaappointed WHEN I FIRST READ the chapter, but now I have another thing I want to bring to mind. Like you all said, this is a step up, not a step back for NaruSaku shipping.
In fact, I realized that if Kishimoto wasn't going to do NaruSaku, then why put so much time in making problems between them? Why make Hinata just disappear completely and why not just have Naruto just go back to Hinata if that is the case? I noticed Kakashi said "Naruto's heart is troubled from hearing this." Why use those choice of words? He didn't say "Naruto's heart is broken" only troubled.
It's getting really hard to tell what are lies, what are interpretations (which are not lies, just how people see things), and what is truth. Maybe that is the point. SO many unanswered questions.
I also wonder if Sakura does love Sasuke but has become Platonic love kind of thing. I mean, if I remember correctly, she only remembered Sasuke when someone talked about him. Otherwise she was always thinking about Naruto.
Looking at the manga in bits and pieces we can see things that support one or the other. Looking at the whole we see that it mostly focused about the bond between Naruto and Sakura. Naruto and Hinata didn't really have a bond per-say.
So in Kishi in two interviews has said two things. Part II will focus on the bonds that tie the characters.
"I've always had "bonds" in my mind as the fundamental theme. And since the story is about battles and struggles, I'm inclined to depict the resulting complications and....difficult relationships. Still, the emphasis will be on bonds. I'm going to show each side's perspective. I won't really divide the cast into friends and foes, but I want to portray each group's circumstance in a fair manner."
Emphasis on "Bonds," "difficult relationships," and "each side's Perspectives."So from this interview alone we can see that he wasn;t going to make anything straight forward. It wasn't going to be THAT easy. I think everyone is right. This WILL make NaruSaku a more desirable couple in the end because of everything that has happened. Like Romeo and Juliet where they struggled with their families and over came that with their love.
Another thing Kichi has said was I believe that "One relationship will be requited." While this could be mean anything I think the likely choice is NaruSaku BECAUSE of all this stuff happening to the couple.
Why put Naruto and Sakura through so much TOGETHER, if they were going to end up with Hinata and Sasuke anyway? I don't know why any respectable writer would do that? A true love couple is a couple that would go through anything together through the good times and the bad. It has always been that way through any relationships in any story. Give me any story where two people who end up falling in love in the end go through the whole story without any problems, without emotional trauma, and/or without one character possibly dying or getting hurt? I can't think of any at the moment.
Even Spider-man went through problems with his girl Mary-Jane.
You guys are right. I have rejuvenated my hope for the couple. We just need that one perfect moment. I wish it would be a kissing scene where Sakura kisses him and Naruto looks surprised, but kisses back. That would be the nail in the coffin for all other ships.
THANK YOU BATMAN! BTW, dl316bh can I join the church of Bat too?
