Yeah this is following an interesting path. I guess Sai saying that Sakura loves Sasuke and because of that is going to kill him kinda throws everything off, I mean, this is extremely confusing. However, the fact is, Sakura did something she didn't have to do, she went to Naruto and laid out her feelings for him. All she really had to do was take the other rookies and hunt down Sasuke but instead she went to Naruto first. At first I was thinking, maybe she went because she wanted to help Naruto drop his feelings for Sasuke on account of her, but when I think about it, she wouldn't have to tell Naruto, she could have just gone straight to Sasuke. Anyways... Sakura told Naruto she loved him, if that was a lie, then Kishimoto has destroyed her character. Thing is, I don't think its a lie. But I'm sure everyone will see the truth soon enough, no matter how much bashing Sakura goes through, I think she will redeem herself very soon. Well, sometime soon, as long as we don't get wrapped up in this whole hide the jinchuuriki's thing.

Seriously, though... lately everything concerning Sakura seems pretty suspicions... I just wish that she would just kill Sasuke, kiss Naruto and then later little hyper, prankster Naruto and Sakura babies appear running around Konoha.

Now back to the manga... I wish that they would write what Gaara says to Naruto, apart from the Kage responsibility and all. Something I though was quite strange, was the stuff that Kakashi and Sai assumed about Sakura's feeling toward Sasuke. I mean... how the hell can the assume something like that! Can't they just accept that Sakura has feeling for Naruto?! Jeez... and I thought Sai supported Sakura...

I'm sure that she didn't go over it with a fine-toothed comb and I doubt that she'd want us to say that she's endorsing it, but she did see it briefly and didn't raise up any red flags other than what we can already see (such as that we don't know who's talking).

And I thought that kawarimi got to spend a full year there, but wasn't sure about the duration which is why I said "I believe".

This shouldn't be that much of a surprise and this isn't a reason to panic.

There has been tons of development in the relationship between Naruto and Sakura since chapter 3 through 470. Almost all of it has pointed to them becoming closer together, learning more about each other and developing stronger feelings for each other even if it's not in a romantic way for a lot of that development. And some of the development is in a romantic sense.

I think that a lot of us have always believed that there was going to be confusion over Sakura's feelings for Sasuke before NaruSaku finally happens. After nothing happened with it for so long and then we got chapters 450 and then 459 so some of us started jumping the gun (most of us?). But this isn't a reversal from what was initially going to happen. It's just something that has to happen. I thought that the first meeting after the time skip might be that opportunity, but they never talked then. And we had another false alarm when everybody was wandering around the woods around when Sasuke fought Deidara. I don't think that Kishi can put the meeting off for much longer though.

So stay cool. Especially since we don't even have a chapter yet.

Things are coming to a head soon. (I hope because I'll kill him if he drags this out.) But we gotta be patient for a few weeks (or even months because Sakura still has to find Sasuke).

I've read posts by Ciardha explaining that she has had no formal study of Japanese but has just picked up the language a little from reading manga.

Totally wrong, kiddo. I had two years of formal study in Japanese at my university, taught by a native born Japanese speaker. My knowledge of kanji is only on a second grade level, but I know enough Japanese to pick up when something looks off quite well, thank you, and those lines did, even in the original Japanese, the translation even more so.

It was also rather odd that unlike the other lines of the spoiler it was not directly attributed to any character. And I know from way too much experience that the spoilers always ignore or minimize any narusaku positive things, and overplay any sasusaku or naruhina "hints". None of the spoiler providers that actually have the manga on 2chan are neutral much less narusaku or even moreso none even tolerate Sakura unless it's in connection to Sasuke. (Some of the fake spoiler people are are pronarusaku nowadays though, heh, heard a few fun ones since 450...)

Remember how overly negative the spoilers for 469 were compared to what was there, remember how much they minimized Sakura's romantic embrace of Naruto in front of the whole village in 450., etc...

Only in regards to the fact that we know the manga is going to end in some fashion with some kind of face-off between Sasuke and Naruto; just about anything else in regards to this manga has shifted gears so abruptly at times that little is resolved well.

Sakura KNOWS that Naruto is the best choice in a guy and Naruto KNOWS that Sakura is the best choice of a girl. Sure it started out as crushes, but we all can agree it has evolved into something more. Maybe before it was a borther and sister thing at times, but again it has evolved since then. Evolved into something different. Something much deeper.

What aggravates me the most is when you have these characters who know what to do, but are so afraid to do it or re so afraid of what the answers are. Why?

I just want to get things to the point now. It's frustrating because I want to get to the battles and cut short some of the drama. It's like "GRRRR...FIGHT ALREADY!!!!"

The simple answer is drama. It keeps folks reading. You want to know how it's resolved. This is a chief reason I still even read the manga. I'm interested enough in the layered relationship of Naruto and Sakura - one that's grown satisfactorily over the course of the series - that I'm still reading and/or keeping up on a manga I would have otherwise given up on a long time ago.

Also, it mirrors real life rather well. Rarely are relationships straightforward in regards to the path to hooking up. Often it's as drama filled and wrought with tension as anything else in life. Pretty realistic and interesting to me.

Yeah, however, I believed Kishi understand my words of drama equals "JUICY!" Sometimes you needed that to get the story better and makes sense. Rushing it will lose its quality.

Oh I understand the frustration, a friend of mine who could have gone into being a literary agent but chose the better paying of her loves- research and development in the enviromental field- she works for the EPA in that part of the organization, taught me years ago about how to develop romance in fiction- her key advice- never let a relationship sit at 3/4's there for longer than two-three years or you will get your readers so annoyed they'll stop reading.
