Sasuke joined Akatsuki. That's why he knows.

But how does he know that Naruto is pursuing Sasuke?
Eh, I probably forgot a lot of things. I read the entire manga up to the latest chapter in one go during the summer.

Nice chapter... It's appropriate that Naruto used one of the techniques Jiraiya taught him to end the fight (if it's the end that is)...
It's also nice that Sakura is back (hopefully for a while) and it's interesting how she reacted to Hinata and her role in the past chapters. But I didn't get anything shippy from it.
I'm not even aware if she's aware of the confession, I assumed that she knew from past experiences ("She's always been watching you!").
I think she was or will be asking herself soon what it is she can do for Naruto and what she wants to do for him. She's got the basic idea already ("Next time I'll protect them!") but in the recent line of events I doubt she's going to be satisfied,
so I expect her to mull it over again in the near future. That might lead her to altogether different answers that she was searching for biggrin.gif

But if Kishi wants he could continue the fast pace some more:
*) Danzou didn't act yet
*) Sasuke hasn't arrived yet
*) Nagato hasn't been found
*) Team Samui is currently on the way to Konoha
*) A different Akatsuki member shows up for the mop-up (Madara himself? Zetsu?)

So I'm not expecting Kishi to resolve the whole relationship issue too soon.

Looking back I think it's cool that Sakura never went on a guilt trip because Naruto helped her so much... She cried with relief and expressed the desire to help more. No mention of "I owe him that." or anything similar.
It would be awesome if that continues...

I heard in an interview that after this fight, Kishi wanted to work on Sakura's character more. happy.gif so maybe we'll see some development with her!

How the heck did that translator get Hinata loves Naruto from " ヒナタ...あなたは...ナルトの事/Hinata...Anata wa...Naruto no koto"? That feels like quite the leap. My translation would be..."Hinata...because of Naruto you..." or "Hinata...you...for Naruto (sake?)" Sounds like someone is a closet NaruHina shipper. I'll have to look it up more to be sure... EDIT: To be fair,, after looking it up the translator probably thinks that the next few words out of Sakura's mouth would be "naruto no koto ga suki" which would mean Hinata, you...love Naruto....but it's not a literal translation so make of it what you want.

I'm not sure if I want Naruto to succeed or if I want him to fail and get captured. Whichever would progress the story. But I think that it will be the latter. But hopefully this is not another case of misleading taglines. Cause this battle should have ended by now, imo.

Jap (romanji) Hinata ...anata wa...naruto no koto

Eng. Hinata .....your.......naruto's (koto) i.e. hinata your reason is for naruto or hinata you are for naruto. its too bad koto cannot really be translated correctly but i think in kishi's case he was using koto as a type of reference to her feelings towards naruto and really in direct trans...it would be literally hinata ..anata (you) wa (am,are aka subject particle) naruto no(and) [for example:naruto no tomadachi=naruto's friend] koto. So really it would be like hinata you are naruto's (aboutness).
koto= to be about some thing, a reason for or even in obligation to something

I think people are over reacting to the whole mistranslation thing. To me, i think they tanslated it that way because of the lack of a better word. It seems that if the text was translated word for word, it would result in a phrase that sounded really weird and misleading, so instead of exact translation, they used simple english words to say the same thing without causing confussion. "Hinata...loves...Naruto" its straight forward and to the point and if they hadn't said that, it would result in something along the lines of what laslow1234 said. In my opinion, they did a better job then they could have done and made it alot easier to understand.

Well we won't have to worry about that for atleast a year or so. The anime is dragging on so slow and there are bound to be more fillers, so that may not happen for a few years.

That's impossible! Impossible, I tell you!

Honestly, people are overreacting for everything in this arc. And shippers of different sides are snapping at each other. I can't believe this fandom sometimes...

Regarding the "why is people more interested in the shipping debate than in the fights the manga revolves around of?" debate, I can understand this is a NaruSaku fansite, so people are bound to debate about their favorite pairing in here.

But it's True, as well, that often Naruto fans forget that this series is about ninjas and fights, not about who gets who. You see it in everywhere, including general sites. EVERY chat eventually degenerates in a pairing debate. It gets very tiresome. Thus, some fans can get tired from seeing it everywhere, even if this is a more proper site.

I think people are more interested more in the shipping than the fighting because fights are predictable most of the time. People already asume how the fight will end so they are not worried about the in between, where as shipping has no determind ended, so anything could happen and any pairing could happen. Thus, to figure out what will happen later on, people are over analysing everything in hopes to find something that will give them the answer. But you are right, even though i am one of those people who would over analysis the shipping part of the manga and talk about it ALOT in the forums, it can get tiresome and "troublesome".

But Sakura does know that Hinata loves Naruto. Heck, until now Naruto was the ONLY one out of the Rookie Nine and Team Gai (and pretty much all of Konoha) not to know that Hinata loves him. So the translator got it wrong. I mean, you need to use the context and... well, Sakura looked surprised in the exact picture where she said this, so... why would she be surprised about something she knew all along? So yeah, i too am thinking more along the lines of "Hinata... you did this for Naruto's sake". Makes more sense.

/Nice use of shadow clones as well. Though I wish we'd see him use different techniques, I guess this is the case of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. *shrug*/

I don't know... yeah, it could be fun for him to know more techniques, but at the same time... Jiraya never showed that many jutsus Hari Jizo, Yami Numa, his various techniques using the Kuchiyose, Gokakyu no Jutsu, and one or two Suitons, but while he didn't have that many he did perfect them all and used them all to the best effects possible. I think it's the same with naruto. He doesn't know many jutsus, BUT the few he managed to use he perfected so much that he can use them to do almost anything.

Shipping has been very predictable to me since Chapter Three, and it's gone on being predictable throughout the entire series.

I'm sorry, but I don't know you get that from. There were nothing to suggest Naruto was the only one of the Rookie Twelve (let alone all of Konoha) wasn't aware of Hinata's love. You can make guesses about Kurenai, Neji, but... the remainder cast? There never were hints of Sasuke being aware of it, or Team Ten, for example. IIRC, when Naruto met Team Eight and Hinata fainted, one of his partners asked why she always did that.

Actually, this chapter proves Sakura didn't know. She WAS surprised because she DIDN'T know all along.

Still, we're not only talking about translating sentences from one idiom to another (which is always hard, especially when both idioms are completely different; there's always something missing in the translation), but guessing what the translation or intent of the original sentence must be, based upon our interpretations of the history and the characters.

I'm afraid that's a pointless exercise.

I am getting a little annoyed at the way no one seems to be good enough to help Naruto now. I mean, I can understand the younger ninja not being able to help much. But saying someone as strong as Super Fuzzy Brows is going to get in the way... That's just a total buzzkill.

Considering Sasuke suddenly is so powerful that he can 1)"kill" Orochimaru, 2) Kill Deidara, 3) Hold his own against Itachi (who, let's not forget it, kicked Kakashi's ass... Kakashi being on the same level as Gai), and 4) held his own against Killer Bee, i don't exactly have a problem with Naruto suddenly being "uber-powerful".

Did Sakura really look surprised? I always thought she had an idea what Hinata was feeling ever since saying "She was always watching you."
Which spells out to "She's got a crush on you." (Chapter 80) said with tact to me, maybe im interpreting too much into it though. Since Lee was with Sakura and Naruto in that scene, he might know (probably not biggrin.gif) but I can't remember anyone else being aware...

I'd thought that Sakura in 442 was pondering and taking in the situation, that's why she was repeating Hinata's feelings to herself.
The situation has struck a nerve for sure...

I think it's a bit of both. I fell that Sakura did know Hinata had some sort of crush for Naruto and didn't think much of it. However, she was surprised by Hinata because she never realized that Hinata felt this deeply for Naruto. Thats how i see it anyway and in the end, it will only help out to get Sakura jealous of Hinata and provide develoupment to Sakur's character.

Ahem.

I attempted to translate the line where Sakura is healing Hinata and this is what I could make out:
"Hinata... For Naruto's Sake..."

I think translators like SleepyFans got ahead of themselves or something. ;x
There was also no talking between Hinata and Sakura, so how could she possibly know of the confession? xD

Anyways, I thought that would clear the translation thing up. :x

Overall it was a good chapter and I don't get what the "Big Conclusion/Surprise" was all about though. ;/
But I do have a feeling that the battle between Naruto and Pein is going to end in the next chapter or so because Kishi has really been dragging this out for a bit now. :cookie:
Maybe we'll get to see the real Nagato next chapter?

This whole translation thing is no different from when Dattebayo translated the Yamato speech in the anime to Yamato saying "I can see that you lo..." When the "lo" sound wasn't supposed to be there. Or how when they had sakura say "Naruto! It's you I'm worried about!" during the Gaara arc when in the real translation she says something like "Naruto...It's you I'm...".

Thank you for stating what I was thinking, but didn't really feel like getting into tongue.gif

It's like, why is there such a fuss about this particular translation, when the Yamato one also had certain liberties taken with it. And honestly, it's not like Hinata doesn't love Naruto. She just confessed it before throwing herself before a homocidal manic XD

So, even if certain liberties were taken with what Sakura said, the fact of the matter is that it's true. Hinata does love Naruto, so really I just don't get all the fuss. But that's just me happy.gif
