Sundays are awkward because I rather read the other manga that come out.

 

Best not to jinx the election by talking about it, this close to the finish. So Dragon Age is finally releasing another game. The last time they did that was around the time Naruto ended ten years ago. All things I been hearing, it seems to be a giant bomb. Honestly Bioware has gone down hill about as bad as Naruto-Boruto has.

 

Summary Time: Chapter 15. A Vibrant Life...is not something I associate with this manga.

 

Cover page is the new tree person (Ryu) they been showing for 3 chapters now.

 

Ah so that's who it is Gaara's son from the movie's chunin exam of...no wonder I didn't recognize him with how little he has appeared. Also for the record. I saw some article months back with the writer thinking that it was Naruto, when Clone Jiraiya showed a vision of him. I did not see anyone go, "oh its Shinki from the movie," due to how he is rarely seen. This is one of the problems with the tree-people and Ikemoto's designs. Part of the drama of the story and emotional feel these should give the readers is the horror of recognizing who has been turned into a monster, but his art style so different from Kishimoto's you instead go, "...Who? Who is that suppose to be?"  Then when you you learn it by that point its more, "oh. It was them. I see." Granted, in this case, the issue is more he used a character rarely seen, but the issue still stands. So a flashback of Gaara fighting the tree people...how did he know the tree people existed. Granted I can't tell how long they have been around. As far as I can tell it could be under an hour with how condense this story is. OK. He was on Bolt's trail and stumbled on the Tree People's base...he was chasing Bolt but ended up finding the location Bolt was desperate to find instead. Either, he is the best tracker in the world or the worst. He was about to send his kids back to the village while he held off Tree-Moegi. She allows Gaara to send them away but the Son breaks free, get trapped, but before he gets trapped he seals Gaara away so he wouldn't die.

 

Oh by the way Gaara is near death from just fighting Tree-Moegi just to remind you their level on the power scale and Only Bolt can fight them.

 

Kankuro is here to try to figure out how to release Shinki as only he can release Gaara from his seal...I really wish Kishimoto had explained sealing jutsu like he did every other power in Naruto. So Ikemoto couldn't use it as a convenient excuse for everything. As there are no real rules or restrictions for it, so seals can do whatever the story needs. Sealing is probably the only power stronger than even the new BS Shinjutsu. By asking if the Leaf know anything about the tree people...baring Clone Jiraiya forewarning by Bolt, how the hell would they?! The tree people just came into existence, they would know even less than the Sand does because Gaara was at least at their base!

 

Ryu can apparently mean "Grain of Sand." Reminder, they have been given themselves meaningful names like Tree-Sasuke's name meaning "left handed." He uses the metal belt clothing he has...sigh. Turns it into metal sand in order to grab Punk through the belts...to show how quickly he became ineffectual when he released a power beyond his control. They surprisingly don't kill him or feed him to a tree seeming to know they own their sentience to him...so they don't know if they would keep it if they get rid of him. He thinks that means he can give them orders and questions why they aren't trying to eat Bolt and Nail. They make it clear they are only humoring him, but the idiot doesn't realize it. He declares that the Chakra Fruit is his but it is clear they want it instead. He tries to assert his authority by slashing Tree-Jenga but Jenga cuts off his arm. Tree-Jenga making clear where Punk stands in the pecking order tell him to hunt down Bolt and his accomplice. Then, as a further show of dominance they seal his stump with their belts so he can't regrow his arm.

 

Tree-Shinki, I haven't updated the nickname list for the tree people because I am using their actual names and adding tree- Infront of it, already wants to eat Gaara and can release the seal on his own...If I update the nicknames again I'll probably make a new post about everyone and the changes that have occurred in Part Two with the character if any have occurred at all.

 

Cut to Bolt on the monument. Nail finds him and ask why he didn't tell them the truth...Bro talk if it just that I'm going to skip it. They talk about stuff that was already explained and Bolt tells him to talk to Madoc to adjust his limiters. As at the moment his offensive power is reduce as it is all being poured into defense and regeneration to keep him alive...remember his Karma contains Madoc's daughter's memories that he needs to revive her. Also, ah so this is how they are going to try to justify how lame Nail has been. "His power was reduce by settings Maodc put in place." Madoc is of course listening and realizes Clone Jiraiya is alive. They agree to an alliance to deal with the tree people.

Well Gaara might be eaten soon so who knows what happens to the Tree People when they do.

 

They are rushing the story. If I am right about the contract; they only have 25 chapter left to go through the story. That means they have to defeat Punk, the Tree people and deal with Nail. Having Nail be an annoying thorn in the side of the story that just slows down the plot is something they can't afford right now. As they are almost half through part two and they haven't resolved anything yet.

 

Also I think they realize people didn't like Bolt was the only one that could fight any of the villains. As it was boring and made most of the cast unimportant. So they are giving power ups to the important members of the cast so they can be on Bolt's level. The daughter getting Kurama when he is suppose to be gone. Cups with the sage mode. Salad going to get something. And Nail is going to get an upgrade so he can fight again.

Well most of the news has been just reacting to Trump winning and him preparing his cabinet when he gets in. In the UK, farmers are protesting due to some inheritance tax with Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear/Grand Tour/Clarkson's Farm leading it. Dragon Age flopped hard to the point they aren't even doing DLC and they are just moving on. I guess EA is keeping Bioware alive at this point because either Netflix or Amazon is making a Mass Effect series.

 

Summary Time: Chapter 16. The Singularity of Fate...well for once not a single word but a pretentious phrase.

 

Cover page is Hime...I honestly see nothing attractive about her design. The only good thing about her so far is that she has been barely involved beyond her omnipotence that has to be constantly reexplained over and over.

 

Flashback to Clone Jiraya training Bolt. He is explaining space time ninjutsu. He explains that Bolt uses this power instinctively but accidentally. He would only master it by marking metal with his chakra and turned it into a ninjutsu 6 years from when he is being trained...one) oh that explains why that toad was holding that piece of metal, two) what it is not a shinjutsu(?!), and three) isn't this just the flying thunder god without the seal? Can they please give him something original...that isn't stupid like that Uzuhiko. Which was really at first just a genjutsu that can't be dispelled. Then they turned it into the spiraling spirt bomb.

 

...Next Page, it is the Flying Thunder God. He gave it the same name in honor of his grandfather's technique...just use the original technique or come up with something new. Don't do this. For Pete's Sake, Bleach had four different names for each factions' version of the Flash Step. Bolt never learned the original but made this technique to have something similar...why can't they just have him and Naruto learn seals. The Uzumaki clan were renown as seal masters. Bolt call his future self a genius...remember when the message was about hard work in Naruto? As it has been everyone is a super genius in Boruto, as long as they are not a Kishimoto character that is. The story is patting itself on the back again; oh god this has just been two pages so far. What am I in for?! CJ explains the mechanics of the jutsu...oh that is why Bolt has all those stupid metal pins on his outfit, for more objects to mark. Eventually, Bolt ask CJ an obvious question, "if he can see the future, why doesn't he tell more people." With the obvious answer, "the more people he told, the more the future would change radically." He says both he and Bolt are singularities because they known the future and can change it. He also notes that Hime is bound to look into Bolt's training at some point and hear this. Which she does. How convenient. 

 

Hime is with Salad and the Clone...can this girl wear her jacket properly, the constantly off the one shoulder looks silly if its every image of her. Salad must of asked about more info about Bolt, and after hearing what CJ said she decides to be vague. Salad wants to help Bolt so he is not fighting this on his own. Clone points out that Bolt wants it that way, she even points out the power gap is so big that they are just in the way, and Bolt likely got injured because people were around him...ah, remember when Naruto went on and on about teamwork everyone? This has the same problem even Dragon Ball doesn't even have anymore. That the target audience Japanese Kids had grown used to team fights due to manga like MHA. That they don't like every fight being one on one honor duels. So even Dragon Ball changed to team fights. Nice to see Ikemoto is keeping up with the trends like everything else about Boruto. Oh, this talk about Bolt wanting to be alone leads to the Clone complaining about Salad jumping into Bolt's arms when she knows the Clone has feelings for him too...yeah, the pairing conflict is a part of manga story in full now. I thought the hug would bury it, but I guess someone thought it was a good idea to keep it going. Even though most the audience can barely bring bring themselves up to care about any of the characters, much less who ends up with who.

 

Then Hime has an internal monologue noting the atmosphere turned awkward and yet she is enjoying the show.

 

The Clone leaves. Salad calls after her. The clone ask how much longer will Salad remain calling her the class rep? I agree for a different reason it's dumb they still keep calling her that. They left the academy over 3 years ago, and you never hear Naruto generation even mentioned the class rep. Shikamaru wants to talk to Hime.

 

On to the Elders having a skype call with...Oh that's the fire lord. He chews them out for the fact that Bolt has enter and left the village multiple times without issue and even escaped their custody. He wants Bolt dead and make clear he will punish those who fail again.

 

Shikamaru asks for an update from Hime what is happening in the Sand and the divine tree. She explains that Tree-Shiki was made and he can undo the seal his original made. She notes its been several hours since then because she is unnerved when doing it in real time because Tree-Bug would stare at her. She gives him a general update, because the fact she wasn't doing that in earlier chapter was stupid. Shockingly Shikamaru figured out Bolt's ally is CJ and he has a toad with Hime. Through his toad he gives Shikamaru orders to send Neo-Team 7 to the Sand because Tree-Shinki and Tree-Moegi are going to be going there, and to not let the daughter out of the village because Tree-Jenga is interested in her...what is the point? It not like they can stop him from getting her, no one but Bolt is able to lay a finger on him. See, this is why you don't completely break your story's power scales. He makes up some Bull that Tree-Jenga won't attack the village due to appreciating its culture, wants to read more books, and will not attack as long as he can purchase more books...do I even need to say how stupid this sounds? He commends Shikamaru for helping Bolt by following his heart and asks him to continue to follow his heart.

 

Wow, its still not over, normally barely one event happens each chapter even with Ikemoto being pressed due to his pacing. Must have gotten a new editor. Neo-Team 7 is heading towards the Sand...it would be a nice image barring Salad's weirdly shaped head, if I wasn't already sick of her never putting her jacket on properly. Where the meet with Gaara's two remaining kids. And the chapter finally ends with them spotting the two tree people.

Ah another on the 19th instead of the 20th. Well Merry Christmas everyone. Jump Festa should be happening within the next week...oh wait it was the 20-22.

 

Summary Time: Chapter 17. Wild Beast Cubs...sounds like a pop band.       

 

Cover Page is the two Neo-Sand Siblings besides the one that got eaten by a tree. Both of them have hoodies and black pants...for ninja that live in a desert and the problem of style over function for Ikemoto's designs shows once again. One is a blonde girl (Yodo, oh what a name) that looks like she about to release a rap album so Blondie for now (Wait! I got it! Blond-D, it still generic while keeping the wannabe gangster rapper vibe,) oh she is wearing uggs, as well as having a g string, remember she is underage, and a boy (Araya) with a goatee, a sword, and a blindfold so Blindfold...Mix Master Fold.

 

It begins with Salad remembering Clone's whining from last chapter. Cups notices her head is not in the game. Tree-Moegi and Tree-Shiki talk they are looking for Bolt, the trees informed them that Bolt had placed his toad where they stood, and the world tree's roots have spread everywhere even in the desert...sorry, just that I can see nearly ever curve on Tree-Moegi's body through her leather suit and it gave her bangs on her head. Blondie has good ears and over hears everything they are saying...she also knows Tree-Moegi's name, I just going to assume she introduce herself when she fought Gaara. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Sorry. Konohamaru ask everyone if they are ready which Salad is not... and we get to see a front portrait of her which I haven't seen in a while God her design is just bad especially that hair.

 

...How do they know Tree-Shiki's name? Did Clone Jiraiya tell them that? Blond-D ask if they defeat them can they revive her brother. Oh we get informed of their names...I think they are silly. Mix Master Fold is concerned about Blond-D so she gets pissy.

 

I get a forward profile of Konohamaru...his design is also bad. Instead of attacking from stealth they decided to be a group of unassuming travelers that have just stumbled upon strangers while looking for Bolt...right these are Kishimoto characters so they have to act stupid. Tree-Moegi reacts to seeing her target...I doubt they informed Konohamaru of that. Huh? I was wrong. She is horny seeing him and is too embarrassed to talk to him...this is Ikemoto's type again young girls with long legs that dresses like some hipster pop deva (kindest way to describe them, less kind HOES) while shyer than Hinata at the nudist convention when talking to the boy they like.

 

Flashback of Shikamaru giving Konohamaru an info dump. Oh he did tell him, he is a target. He says they are like newborn animals innocent that don't know right from wrong. So they should befriend them, then betray them to get their bulbs...so many ways this can go wrong.

 

Neo-Team 7 talk while the Sand Siblings hide. So they act like they are just looking for Bolt and ask to team up...and Cups like a moron finds a piece of metal Bolt uses for his teleports and says this out loud informing the Tree people of info of Bolt's capabilities they did not know. Even if this is to sell the disguise this is beyond stupid. They decide to use their act to split up the two tree people Tree-Shiki goes along with it due to the info, while Tree-Moegi is too shy to do anything but just stare at Konohamaru.

 

More flashback Shikamaru informs Konohamaru that he is Tree-Moegi's target because she has romantic feelings for him and to use this to gain an edge over her. He decides to sit down on some rocks and talk to her...remember her goal is to eat him. Once she gets over this swell of emotions that what she should do and the best way to have her get over this is to stab her in the back.

 

Clone Jiraiya has a toad with both Shikamaru and Hime. He ask for Hime to look at the current events while she is worried about Tree-Bug seeing her. He says not to worry as he should be at their base. He informs Bolt and informs him he is not allowed to get involved in this fight because if he does Tree-Jenga will sense him get involved and kill them. The only chance of this plan working is if he stays here...so obviously he won't. Or, is this going to be the way they are going to make him sit out of fights so there is any suspense to fights he is not involved in? "Oh no! Clone Jiraiya says that he can't get involved in this fight due to it affecting their planned future too much. Its up to Salad to win this fight on her own! You know what have been better than this? NOT kittening WITH THE POWERSCALING SO MUCH YOU CANNOT HAVE YOUR MAIN CHARACTER FIGHT ALONG SIDE ANYONE ELSE BECAUSE THE POWER GAP IS TOO BIG!!!!!

 

We see Tree-Jenga at the bookshop getting more books...he even pays see he gets that from Jenga of the nice manners. Who I hope you will all remember was nice enough to smack Sasuke in the face with his growing big black rod.

 

Chapter ends with Nail threating Madoc to get his upgrade.

Oh by that way. Apparently, there was an interview with Kishimoto and Ikemoto for a French magazine. It apparently confirmed what I already thought. The story and art are all Ikemoto and Kishimoto "supervises." Which I suspect is gives advice if Ikemoto ask but beyond that leave him to his own devices.

Its kind of werid, how irrelevant naruto as franchise has become, reading those chapter descriptions, you woudn't guess whats going on, albeit without old names mentioned, literaly everything else feels like a fanfic creation. Even bleach got reviewed in popularity due to last arc getting anime adaptation.

Inauguration Day in the US. As nothing else is going on. I shall mark this as what would likely have been the end of part one of Boruto and its never-ending prologue if Ikemoto was not order to end part one early. So part one would have been 98 chapters/months if Ikemoto went at his own pace.

 

Summary Time: Chapter 18. Only Babble in Your Sleep...what?

 

Cover page is Tree-Moegi posing...I can see nearly every contour of her body; I imagine Ikemoto had to exert the greatest amount of self control to not give her a camel's toe in this image. How convenient that her leather clothing gave her heels so she does have the weird feet the rest of her brethren have.

 

 

The Clone is moping. Stumbles on Nail attacking Madoc, again. He demand Madoc stop experimenting on his body and to change his settings so he can fight. Madoc uses the code phrase which is the title to knock him out. Then he ask the Clone to help move him.

 

Back to the....OH YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING!!! So, the neo-sand siblings are out in the open ready to fight Tree-Shiki to free their brother. Oh wait they want to lure him away father into a trap. They can still hide. Konohamaru and Tree-Moegi sit awkwardly on a rock. She is slowly adjusting to her feelings toward him and feeling like her True Self. She ask if she can call him Konohamaru-chan which apparently Moegi called him all the time...did she? I don't know, does anyone want to check?

 

With the kids they continue to lure Tree-Shiki farther away. He uses his iron sand to try to sense Bolt. Notices Blond-D is radiating bloodlust. They try to play it off and ask him some questions which he answer. "Why are the tree people after Bolt?" "He doesn't know but it because Bolt knows too much." When Tree-Shiki mentions Thorn Soul Bulbs Salad suggest using one of those to lure Bolt out.

 

Nail wakes up. Madoc negotiates. He will change Nail's parameters since these Tree-People are a threat to everyone, but he wants to revive his daughter first. So, he wants Nail to upload the data to a new clone of his daughter he has created... remember that Nail's Karma seal was made with the memories of Madoc's daughter. Nail states that if this turns her into an Otsutsuki he will kill her. Which Madoc agrees to. Then, Nail refuses as he realizes he can force Madoc to modify him to be stronger than everyone else in the story by holding the memories needed to revive his daughter hostage...granted a Kishimoto character might not be able to pull off that BS modification, but Madoc is an Ikemoto character.

 

More Konohamaru and Tree-Moegi. He ask her not to call him that, as only Moegi calls them that, which sets her off...no wonder they aren't married with kids like Naruto's gen did when they were like 18. Konohamaru has no ability to read nor skill at talking to a woman. Now she is going to eat him.

 

While that happening finally the charade is over. Tree-Shiki was coating them all in his iron sand while they were chatting. So, he releases a thorn soul bulb as bait which Blond-D goes for. He plays around with them. Then Mix Master Fold reveals his power is to disrupt Tree-Shiki's Iron Sand through a sand sealing blade...What?

What I mean is, usually sequel or continiation of same universe goes in one of two directions:
- Direct sequel, that uses same logic and in-universe laws of things/powers/characters, maybe with some slight additions, so reader can mostly jump back in and don't feel lost.

- Stand alone continuation, new cast, new logic of how things operate with minor drops or references to original work, so if new reader is in - they don't need to buy 60 volumes of previous work to know plotlines or why things happening in this story.

 

Granted, in manga 2nd type of story is rather rare, but it does happend, most recent one is Fire Brigade. With Naruto/Burito situation, 70 volumes of original story, where one of main themes was Naruto trying to change system and break cycle that caused suffering and wars, so logical question would be, what is sequel about? If main character of original story succeeded - does sequel changes genre? No, its still a battle shonen, does that mean main character on original work dies, and just passes torch to next generation? No, he's alive... just not main character anymore? Even more so, now its not a story about ninjas, now there is cybors, aliens, clones (yes, they were in original too, but it was deus ex machina even there).

 

So all in all, while changing from ninja-magic theme to some proto-sci-fi, inventing some bland new cast, while dragging old cast throught the mud, this manga doesn't really land any idenity on itself. Granted thats an observation of person that never read any chapter, only from description and reviews of chapters in here or elsewhere.

Why is it on the 19th again? Eh. Oh Dragon Ball Super is back because they needed one more chapter for the 24 volume. Gohan is the Mr Clean God whatever that inspired Gohan and Trunks to try out superhero-Ing.

 

Summary Time: Chapter 19. Konohamaru-Chan...so this is going to be about Moegi and Konohamaru, remember she is Ikemoto's favorite character from Naruto apparently.

 

Cover page is Moegi...did she always have orange hair? It been so long since I've seen her character I don't remember.

 

Showing the origin of Mix Master Fold's blade...Did I ever give Gaar'a son Shinki a nickname? Eye-Run Sand he has tattoo or markings that look like E. So Eye-run Sand poured his chakra into the blade allowing it to manipulate his iron sand...I think you need to do more than just pour some chakra in to make that effect permanent, like place a seal on the weapon or something. Remember all the three Neo-Sand Siblings are adopted. Adopted siblings are allowed to marry each other in Japan. So Mix Master Fold says that Eye-Run Sand is focusing too much on their father Gaara and he should pay attention to their adopted sister Blond-D who has feeling for him. Eye-Run counters back Fold never stops talking about her, so he should just make a move, but Fold implies he has already given up on that, as he know she love Eye-Run.

 

So he frees everyone from Tree-Shinki. They fight. Cups uses Sage mode, he has some spirit snake attack, and nearly lands a hit on him, but he has the power to turn himself into Iron Sand. Mix Master Fold uses his sword to force him back to form so Salad and Cups can hit him. Then he dissipates again.

 

Back to Tree-Moegi and Konohamaru. She is upset he doesn't want her to call him Konohamaru-chan. Hime is watching and commenting that Konohamaru is too stupid to understand the problem is they don't share a relationship the makes adding chan feel natural...He refuses to let anyone other than Moegi call him chan due to his feelings for her, and Tree-Moegi is jealous. You would assume a Ninja of Konohamaru age of what? 30 years old (Didn't Naruto generation seem to get married the second they turned 18? Why is he waiting so long?) would be mature enough to put this aside to rescue the women he loves, but it is likely Ikemoto doesn't see him as older than a teenager. This is so she can inform Clone Jiraiya who is with Bolt so he can remind him and us that he is not allowed to join the fight...Yes, he already said this a two chapters ago at the start of this fight, but I guess they decided this needed to happen to remind people to raise the stakes as Bolt won't come in for the rescue...or at least not yet. Then we have Tree-Jenga philosophizing about love and their nature due to absorbing human emotions. They want to eat the person who was loved the most by the person they are copies of to remove the weakness of love.

 

Mix Master Fold pulls Tree-Shinki back to form and he summons Nudists. He has one attack Blond-D so Mix Master Fold will use his sword to save her. It gets stuck in a Nudist so Tree-Shinki sends the Nudist with the sword in him so they lost their edge against him...unless he suddenly start feeling love for those two.

 

Chapter ends with Tree-Moegi still not eating Konohamaru yet.

Huh, its on the 18th now. I should really put the date for the next release like I used to. We are at a 100 Boruto Chapters Everyone...

 

Summary Time: Chapter 20. Because of Love... oh right, that's going to continue being a thing.

 

Cover Page is Konohamaru with some second forehead protector/armband on his left arm.

 

Tree-Moegi is still taking her time to eat him. Oh now he remembers Shikamaru telling him to become friends with her...Wasn't his dream to become the Hokage after Naruto? Why is he so weak, pathetic, and incompetent at 30 years old? She is torn between wanting to kill him and wanting him...so this is just going to keep going till something else happens.

 

Back to the fight with Tree-Shinki. They fight eventually he catches Cups and Mix Master Fold in his iron sand...pretty sure he could catch all of them at this point but. He decides they aren't important and instead wants to use them for info on Bolt. Blond-D tell Salad to spill any info, as she apparently knows where Bolt is, she has because they are going to be killed if she doesn't. Apparently, Salad refuses partly because she doesn't want to sell out a friend, and partly because she is still mulling over what the Clone told her. Blond-D realizes that Salad is in love with Bolt. So, she offers herself and her sensory ability in exchange for the other three going free.

 

Back to Konohamaru slowly not being killed by Tree-Moegi...this has been going on for about 3 chapters now in this holding action, can they fight already. She cries seeing him hurt, he realizes this, calls out her name, then points out that she is sad and does not want to kill him.

 

Now the other Tree people sense this and Tree-Jenga prepares another bloody monologue.

 

Konohamaru ask for her to hold his hands and wonders if they could start a relationship. She acts like a giddy schoolgirl. When she touch his hand, he follows through, finally, with Shikamaru's plan. Blowing her arms up with rasengans, but due to her calling out his name like Moegi he hesitates to deliver the finishing blow. And like I predicted when they came up with this plan it backfired and she is piss.

 

Tree-Shiki kills Blond-D because he doesn't need her and doesn't like her attitude. As she lays dying she gives words of encouragement to Salad to stop holding back, stop suppressing her feelings, and use her power to protect the one she loves. With this advice, she activates her mangekyo sharingan and uses Kamui, Kakashi's power...is this like her mother and this going to be the one fight she has for part two? 

 

 

Well, its going back into 'it seems like stuff is happening but nothing is happening, at best one thing happens each chapter' pacing that was a major problem with part one. We are 4 chapters into this fight, remember this is a monthly series, and barely anything happened this chapter. The plan from the start at 16 if we make this five chapters for how long this has been going on. Spilt the two tree people up. Konohamaru gets Tree-Moegi to let down her guard so he can kill her for her soul blub, this fails and is forced to fight her. AND IT TOOK FOUR CHAPTERS FOR KONOHAMARU TO REMEBER THAT WAS THE FUCKING PLAN! While the kids fight Tree-Shinki. Apparently, Salad couldn't or wouldn't use her mangekyo...which wasn't a thing till this chapter. Yes, she wasn't using it, incase people forgot she got it when she beg her father to save Bolt at the end of part one, but it was never mentioned it was an issue that she needed an Android 16 speech to use.

 

Also despite this power up I suspect that this fight going to go for a minimum of two more chapters and likely 4 to 6. As there is likely to be a flashback to why Salad couldn't use the mangekyo when she got it at the end of part one, a chapter of showing off at least before the killing blow, and this is still split between two fights Salad and Tree-Shinki and Konohamaru and Tree-Moegi (Ikemoto's favorite character.) Also the inevitable surprise shock twist to make the story more dramatic of either Tree-Jenge or Bolt getting involved.

I decided since this manga has gone on for 101 chapter I should write my general opinion about it. Other matters in my life and general disinterest had made that a bit slower than it should. So it will either be out this week or it won't since I shouldn't dragged that on for too long.

 

Summary Time: Chapter 21 Mangekyo Sharingan...This is the chapter where Salad goes Super Uchiha and should show off.

 

Cover page is Salad...oh she has a red and black color scheme like the sharingan...eh...wait I think her hairstyle changed and is now somewhat spikey...to show her power up...Ah damn, he really did turn her using mangekyo into Super Uchiha. Stop ripping off Dragonball so blatantly. 

 

Salad has a flashback montage to build up her resolve. Her feelings for Bolt, her dream of becoming hokage, and that she has great potential she just needs to embrace it or something...How long is it going on! 6. 7. 8. 9. 9 pages. Condense this. Yep we are going back to a time where Ikemoto thinks wasting pages makes it more meaningful. Oh she was not aware of the activation that's the excuse.

 

Well she gone Super Uchiha nothing Tree-Shinki can do even touches her while she barely moves. She has a black hole/gravity ball ability to absorb attacks. She instinctually knows what it does and how to use it...how interesting. Tree-Shinki think the hole is stationary so he just has to attack with her between her and the hole, but she can summon multiple holes. She summons so many black holes/gravity balls it start lifting both her and Tree-Shinki off the ground. Cups points out her has gravity powers through her black holes/gravity balls.

 

While he is slowly drawn into a black hole/gravity ball near him unable to move or escape. She monologies about how she been holding back due to self esteem issues, but now she is done holding back. She has embraced her true self. Allowing her to use Ohirume. Which is an another name of Amaterasu...so this is her version of the black flames; at least I am hoping that is the case. Tree-Shinki is defeated they have his soul bulb...the problem is his body is at their base. She faints.

 

Hime updates Clone Jiraiya he updates Bolt. This was all apart of CJ's plan as they needed Salad to awaken her Mangekyo...which she already activated they could have just told her. He asked if Blond-D death was always part of his plan and was there another way to get Salad to activate the mangekyo...yes, again she activated it years ago, you could have just told her. This leads him to question CJ's plan about Konohamaru wondering if he is leaving him to die. CJ warns if he intervenes Tree-Jenga will comes to catch him. He goes to save Konohamaru who was defeated by Tree-Moegi...remember he should be the next hokage. Bolt one-shots her and Jenga sense him, as all the tree people are connected.

 

Dear god this was a bad chapter. A third of it is flashbacks. Then most of it Super Uchiha 2 Salad boredly one-shotting her opponent with power to summon black holes/gravity balls. Bolt question CJ's plan after hearing of a death. Goes to save Konohamaru, one shots his opponent. The big bad takes notice. If this was a shorter weekly manga this might be fine...granted the fact the enemies are one shotted is an issue. As either the opponents can be beaten in one blow or they are invincible in this story. But this monthly format he is just filling up page space with a story that he couldn't fit into around 40 pages.
