It may be that Naruko was added because technically there was a female Naruto shown in the manga. If only briefly and only a few times over the course of the series. Naruko is definitely a fan name, but there was a canon female version of Naruto to back it up.

 

I might be a much harder sell with Shinachiku because he is not a character in the manga. He is purely a fan creation.

All I know about Shinachiku is that NH/SS fans are making fun of us for making up our own OTP baby lol.

I'm pretty sure he existed before 700. He was just mass adopted after the ending.

 

And let them be petty. Nothing's wrong with having our own collective fanon. Drama queens.

But there also is a genderbender sakura and sasuke in that character list, that DOES NOT exist in the series. So I don`t see what problem they would have with Shinachiku.

As a matter of fact....

 

I am writing the bones of one right now! I don't remember letting it slip out that I was, but you've caught me red-handed!! I haven't said anything about it because I already have so many fics going, I want to make sure it's fully developed before I mention it. (Come to think of it, I may have mentioned it somewhere. But what I ended up writing was entirely different than I'd envisioned before.)

 

Instead of a bouncing baby boy, Shinachiku will be about 17, the age that Team 7 is at the end of the war. in this fic, Sakura and Naruto will have to work out some long-standing differences. Naruto is married to Hinata, just as in canon. Sakura lives in the Sand. Oh, and did I mention that he doesn't know about Shinachiku...? :) I'm excited about it! I think it's turning out really well, touching on themes of parenthood and protection, etc., some of the things that were pitched out the window in the canon ending.

I don't know how I feel about this! It sounds really interesting, and I always have faith in Tricksie's ability to provide some good NS feels.

Wow, excellend work. I love that you gave him a toy slug. I could see him him summoning slugs instead of toads like his dad.
