Funny, but I never saw Naruto as the underdog in these fights, but rather him being the Superman of the fight. He has near infinite power, but kind of refuses to go full throttle because he doesn't want to kill.

That is what we all know but that is not something what Kishi portrays....

Sasuke is just so bad at this point, I don't even know what to say. He's riddled with so much inconsistency and hypocrisy that it is truly astounding.

Also, that panel with Sakura and Ino coming right before Naruto says he wants to beat Sasuke, it almost makes it seem to me that he wants to beat Sasuke because of Sakura, almost as a way to make her see him? That's why he originally wanted to beat Sasuke, but it think it's interesting that a little bit of the feeling might be there. Kinda confirms again where Naruto's feelings lie.

It was an okay chapter I think people are over reacting not liking it. I have to agree with Chatte that panel of little Ino cheering for Sasuke while Sakura seems to be surprised was intentional on Kishi's part. I have a feeling we will hear from Sakura next chapter as she will start reflecting on her feelings for Sasuke and her feelings for Naruto. That's when she will realise how much she loves Naruto. I highly believe NS will be canon at the end of the manga and they will be together during the time skip for the Last.

No, i do not think shes going to reflect on her feelings for Naruto and Sasuke that wouldnt make sense for what kishis trying to do

I liked this chapter. Sasuke's "That jutsu is just a symbol of your loneliness" really cut Naruto deep - I don't think I've seen him more sad than that, not in a long time. But Naruto's words were still able to catch Sasuke off guard in the end. ;~;

Its almost a certainty that the fight is gonna last for at least 2 chapters making just one of em left for all the other kitten along wiht pairings.I think all we will see is Sakura wake up

Is it just me or it's VERY intentional on Kishi's part showing that image of Sakura and Ino when Ino is all fangirl and Sakura is all "!!"? Or maybe it's just me...

You know what would have been interesting....have Sasuke offer Naruto a seat of power. Say to them that instead of killing eachother, they should rule together. "Put armies against each other like chess pieces" and such. I guess that would be too cliche and we pretty much already have enough of it.

Kishi kind of has this Watchmen theme going. I wonder if that is where the inspiration comes form.
 

It's funny how people view world peace, but funny enough world peace is boring. Entertaining? I don't know. The fight itself maybe, but the story leaves me in a weird state of mind like I am bored. I don't know why i can't get into it or maybe because I never was into Sasuke story at all. Maybe it isn't the fight itself, but the road we got to get here. The unnecessary drama and such that made up get to this point I guess was just too much. Chapter 693 just ruined everything kind of. Not the pairings, but just the way things got to this point. I don't know.

I just feel like...there was too much drama and now we have to sit through more before it is over.

 

this fight is good to me but i have to agree with u its not what we all expected kishi took the wrong path to reach it and that 693 chapter even if it wasnt as bad as we thought but no doubt it changed things  . i hope it will be fixed a bit at the ending . hopefully

yup that's exactly what i expect too. everything in this story takes a backseat to naruto & sasuke.
