It's a bit weird that the senjutsu was dropped so quickly, though I understand that in order to combat the bijuu damas (is that what they are?), that form would be more appropriate - by that logic, Kirabi should also be used to combat them as well, no?
I was hoping to see Sakura in this chapter, but I guess there isn't much point in seeing her healing, molding chakra, or asking Hinata questions again; she'll likely return when Kishi is ready to have her rejoin the action.
I really like knowing that it will be Naruto's birthday tomorrow in manga time. Seems like Kishimoto is setting up for some big things to happen soon after pointing that out. I wouldn't be surprised if the war came to an end at that point (the whole war has only been several days long in manga time, correct?). Like others, I hope that we see something special between Naruto and Sakura that day as well.
We've been speculating that the end of the war would be a good time for Kishimoto to have a NaruSaku moment between the two of them, and if it so happens that it happens to be on Naruto's birthday as well, and right before his fight with Sasuke, I'd say the chances of actually getting some sort of significant moment between these two at that point went up quite a bit.
As far as the pacing during the war arc goes, I don't really care too much for it. There were somethings that were focused on that I thought didn't need to be while there were somethings that were offpaneled that really should have been shown, and some great opportunities missed. Seriously, which reader actually wanted to see the leader of the Samurai fight over seeing Kakashi raging, or seeing Sakura go up against Chiyo (the lost opportunity here still burns
)?
That isn't to say there haven't been moments in the war that I enjoyed, but I do think it could have been written better than it was.
