He has my sympathy now. Fighting for his idealistic world until the end with the mentality that he has nothing remaining in this world. Despite everything he's done and all of the people who resent him for his actions I think Tobi was the one who may have been hurting the most. As strange as that sounds. In many ways his death is similar to Kisame's. Tobi is the embodiment of a perfervid conviction to a tragic ideal that was manipulated by others; he was an instrument or a device, a means to an end, which once its use has been acquired is simply discarded.
It's ironic when you consider how Tobi exploited the wishes of people like Kisame; deluding the man into believing that the Mugen Tsukuyomi would be a realm forged from nothing but truths only to have them die in a final act of loyalty which has ultimately proven itself to be futile. Although there is one notable difference between Tobi and Madara. It's that despite this heinous act the former did at least value the dedication of his soldier at some point in the manga. Madara has done no such thing and it appears that he's simply going to simply abandon his only ally after the resurrection jutsu has been completed.
Edit: Like I said, I think Naruto is going to do something similar to Kuwabara and declare that he will fight for Tobi's sake as well.
Nice post. I agree.
Seems strange to me that Obito will already die here... Maybe it's just another fake cliffhanger from Kishi and someone will save him at the last minute (I guess Naruto because Minato is busy about keeping active the barrier and Kakashi is in bad condition).
I hope you're right.
I wonder who's close enough to Obito right now to save him... I'd like Minato to do it, but like you said, he's busy plus I think he's pretty far away. I just want some Minato/Obito interaction, dammit.
Yeah. I mean, not trying to take away from what someone might find interesting about that Rin panel, but I don't see why it's a big deal considering she's always looked like Sakura.
I would say she's more mild in temperament than Sakura, but more than the Kushina or Tsunade ; Rin physically resembles Sakura a lot.
Agreed. Sakura's got the light eyes like Kushina, and that little hair thing at the top of her head with the lines (if you know what I'm talking about lol) like Tsunade (and the bangs at the side of Tsunade's face are similar to the ones Sakura had in Part One, after she cut her hair), but she has short, light hair like Rin, and their eyes just look similar to me. Not the eye colour, of course. I don't know, my point is they really do look quite similar.
I do have to wonder. I love Sakura, but why does Kishi always draw Sakura's hair so...straight? I mean, at times Sakura hair looks like this hard mesh of hair that would cut your hand off if you ran your hand through it, but Rin's hair is perfectly natural and looks like soft hair.
Maybe I am nit picking on something minor, but this is one thing that has always bothered me just a bit.
Haha, that "cut your hand off" bit made me laugh.
Yeah, I see where you're coming from. Rin's hair often, especially in that last panel on the second-to-last page, looks "free-flowing," or natural, like you said, while Kishi doesn't usually draw Sakura's like that. I do like Sakura's hair, though, and I liked the way it was drawn this chapter.
Does anyone know what the sfx by Minato on that last page is, by chance?
