The chapter was great everyone's lending a hand. This chapter was about the rest of the rookies shinning. As always Hinata's character is all about getting confidence through Naruto in becoming a better ninja NOTHING ROMANTIC. Of course you tell that to NH fans and they will completely disagree saying" No Hinata loves Naruto she must end up with him" yeah but the problem is Kishi made it clear in 631 who is the girl Naruto will end up with and it was proven by none other than his own father, sorry but this chapter show it clear that the hand holding was nothing but part of her character development especially when she thought about Neji. Sure I can see sawyer and VJ glorifying those panels saying she's stronger than Sakura now.  As for Sai damn man it's about time where was he??? He was missing for so long. The last panel was the most bad ass seeing team seven just like the sanins.

Bolded: Yeah, ok, and Sakura will only go up more from this point forward. Now, the slug sage mode is a possibility. I can't say she has it now, but the chance is there. So yeah, now what on that.

Am I the only one that feels like Team 8 is... lacking? Team 7 and Team 10 are complete in synch with their members, but Team 8 is out there doing solo-acts. I would have preferred to see a combo attack from them, but it looks like they're slacking in the teamwork department.

I sort of had a feeling Kiba and Shino were gonna get soemthing but not everyone who's already did something before but if Kishi's doing it like this, I don't even care because Team 7's crushing them all.

THEY'RE taking the lead, and everyone else has to follow. 

 

I'm not even worried about those Hinata panels. Naruto still has no interest in her, and Kishi's still playing with couples but Naruto has already confirmed his feelings. Naruto ain't looking at her.   She needs to get a clue. LOL

Not a bad chapter. Good to see the other rookies getting in on the action! We get to see how much they've improved! Even Hinata. But only ninja skill-wise. Pretty sad she has to think of Naruto to even pull off 64-palms. And seriously. Hinata. No. You have not always been by his side. Don't delude yourself. Anyways, I think this is probably just completing what she said back when the rookies were on their way to the battlefield. "Holding his hand and walking with him; by his side." She got to hold his hand; Check. When she talked about walking with him/being by his side, I was thinking in skill. Obviously, that's not true, but being able to catch up to him, I guess. No longer chasing him to be like him and instead, actually being like him. I dunno. Like someone else said, it could be the first steps in Hinata getting over Naruto and/or being independant. Which would be nice.

 

But seriously Kishi. Enough with all the Hinata. I was cringing as I read her part. Seriously. She doesn't deserve more panels than Kiba or Shino. At least we got a lot of InoShikaCho teamwork. And we finally get to see Sai again! Yay!

And whaddya know! Sakura CAN summon slugs! Good for her! It's good to see that our adorable Sakura has finally caught with Naruto and Sasuke!

 

 

Just wait until Naruto video games catch up to Sannin Sakura!

I apologize for saying this--this might be considered rude, but I think this needs to be said: I find it very silly that some (if not many?) of NaruSaku fans here (and maybe anywhere else) are so averse in Kishi portraying Hinata doing something, or in a positive way, or hell, even if she just *appears*.

 

I know we all love NaruSaku, but saying stuff like "Sigh, Hinata" or like "Why Hinata even appears in this chapter" every time she appears is just... unhealthy.

 

Again, I apologize if this sound rude/unbecoming, but I just want to say that.

Imagine that, Team 7 once again showing even more distinction with Naruto using Bijju mode, Sasuke using Susanoo, and Sakura using sage mode (or maybe a yin seal release?). Wow.... what would be a hell of a way to end a war. And at that poitn any one of Team 7 would be strong enough to be hokage.

No, don't worry. I agree with you. I was happy with this chapter, only to come here talking about Hinata. Look, maybe I can understand if she got the only focus, but she didn't and it matches to 615: encouragement to move forward. That said that actually negates the romance intention of that chapter, so yeah, more blows to NH if that makes you feel better.

Okay since everyone is going to talk about Hinata let me give my two cents.

 

 

This chapter was obviously about showing the progress of the rookies and further showing the similarities between Team 7 and Team Hiruzen (the sannin).

Given that Team Gai is a year older than the rest they were left out of this chapter and instead the rest of the rookies are showing how far they've come, which they did. They effectively killed a bunch of Juubi fodder. Since team Gai has been left out it's safe to assume they are going to play a much bigger role in the near future. I honestly wouldn't be suprised if either Lee or Gai used the 8th gate to help take down the Juubi itself. As for team 7 they once again make it clear that they are the top contenders against the Juubi, and I have no doubt that with the rest of the shinobi world currently watching that they will be recognized for their actions. Overall this chapter is just about showing everyone that the new generation is shaping up to be pretty awesome. I think next chapter will be about Sasuke's new snake, Sakura's new slug, and Gamakichi's new abilities. I also suspect we'll dive into Obito and Kakashi a bit since it seems like the Juubi is in a really bad spot right now and if this goes on too long the war will be over before Obito and Kakashi are finished fighting.

 

 

Now I'll ask you this : Why are you all focusing on Hinata when this chapter had SO much more to it than her 2 pages.

Sorry, it's hard to avoid when everyone who is a shipper of some sort looks at the chapter with shipping goggles. The only way you'll have no discussion on that is from a completely neutral reader.

 

For me, I loved the chapter. Just wasn't too happy about Sai's attack not falling through. The other rookie's attacks were pretty awesome though. Personally I like Hinata and how much she's grown, but I just don't like her Naruto dependence. I see it as just her using her feelings for motivation to improve herself but it doesn't mean that she'll push herself on him romantically. NH will not happen until she actually makes a move and Naruto reciprocates so don't panic so much. The same can go for NS. Someone needs to make a move and have the other reciprocate. Hopefully it'll be NS that becomes cannon though!

 

For now, I'm just waiting to see what else everyone else has in store.

Sorry, it's hard to avoid when everyone who is a shipper of some sort looks at the chapter with shipping goggles. The only way you'll have no discussion on that is from a completely neutral reader.

 

For me, I loved the chapter. Just wasn't too happy about Sai's attack not falling through. The other rookie's attacks were pretty awesome though. Personally I like Hinata and how much she's grown, but I just don't like her Naruto dependence. It isn't that we are adverse to her receiving some acknowledgement in battle. The flaw with Hinata lies in her mentality. All she appears to do is fixate on Naruto without holding much regard for the other people in her life. What about offering her cousin gratitude as well for his sacrifice? Or her teammates for having always stood by her side? Does she not have any ambitions of her own like reconciling with her father and attempting to prove that she is capable of acting as the heiress of her clan? The one-dimensionality of her character is what many people become agitated by.

No one has commented about this yet, but I also like that Naruto and Sasuke's rivalry is still alive. They're both busy sizing up the others abilities while the Juubi is wrecking havoc. It cracks me up.

Agreed. Team 8 is just kind of... There. They're like barely a team tbh. Just goes to show how unimportant Team 8 (and subsequently Hinata) are to other characters/the plot.

THIS. Exactly this. I don't care if Hinata shows up and does some cool moves, good for her. But her fixation on Naruto is really annoying and just unhealthy, to the point that she doesn't even seem to think of what others besides Naruto have done for her. She's more of a fangirl than Sakura ever was tbfh.
