Can sectional thread bans and time temp bans be effectively used before perma?
H&E currently doesn't have the facility to ban people from specific threads, but it might be a possibility with the new upgrade coming next month.
We already use temp bans and, while it does let us ban for a certain amount of hours, we feel that setting it in days is a more effective deterrent.

Depends on the situation really, a time temp ban "24'd" can be used as a quick little reminder not to get carried away.

Doing that would almost function as an 'unofficial' warning, because it wouldn't be tracked on the warning bar, and we are disbanding with unofficial warnings as mentioned. To keep things simple and flowing efficiently, and so that everyone can track their own warnings, things like 24 hr temp bans/unofficial warnings won't be used. At this point with everything that has been said and with everything that has happened, no one on this forum should require any further little reminders for not getting carried away. That's the whole point of us getting stricter after all. And as mentioned before, there are multiple chances given before one reaches a Perm Ban. If someone gets to the point where they are within one more warning of a Permanent Ban, then no amount of small reminders will change their behaviour.

New? No, the Warn Bar has been in place for years under the Rules and Regulations -

3 Official Warnings -> 3-day Temp Ban -> 1 Official Warning -> 7-day Temp Ban -> 1 Official Warning -> 1 month ban -> 1 Official Warning -> 6 month Temp Ban -> PERMANENT BAN.
