Like usual, I don't really have anything to say that hasn't already been said. The Karin Uzumaki revelation was random, but it isn't too far out in left field IMO. Mito and Naruto both had chakra sensing powers, and she's got that red hair.

I had a tough time following what Kabuto was explaining, but it looks like bad guys can use Sage Mode now. Hmm. I hope Kabuto's the only one. I'm not sure why only Snake Sages get to become Dragons though. They're like...the coolest of all fictional animals!

Oh, and the splash page was awesome. I like how Sakura's yelling at Naruto, instead of being afraid of the giant demon fox. See that? That's your future, Naruto.

Heh heh, I'm sure he wouldn't have it any other way.

I don't think this fight leads to Sasuke redemption, because Kabuto said that his bounty price is less then Saauke, so the ninja world view Sasuke as more of a treat than Kabuto.

Also, Karin has officially have more importants than Hinata in the series.

I like this. I made a little joke about it on the Narusaku debate thread. Sadly no feed backs. Kinda like letting the fox inside the house when you it should be outside.

Well, it's a bit of one, in the sense Naruto knows he's deliberately pranking her- stirring Sakura's passionate temper up. He likes her passionate temper like he likes everything else about her. ;) (It fits in with romances between those type characters too- the closer they come to getting together the more the guy likes to stir her up.)

I wonder if the third mentioned place Shikkotsurrin is the home of the Slug Sage? And if Tsunade ever mastered the Toad Sage ability, the slugs seem to be the least troublesome from the three so I expect them to be easier to persuade to let the contract holder train as a sage, would be nice to see Sakura hold the contract and gain the ability Kishi owes Sakura that at the very least for how he's treated her for the past few years.

Its highly likely there's a slug sage. But Kabuto being the snake sage ruined the possibility of Team 7 becoming the new legendary Sannin. It would be cool if all three are sages. That would really be surpassing the original Sannin. Naruto already surpassed Jiraiya by perfecting his sage mode. But Kabuto was the one who surpassed Orochimaru. Damn you Kabuto. At least Sasuke gets to be Dr. Snake. This chapter rekindled my hope for Sakura being in the limelight.

I really enjoyed the fight - the two brothers working together was great!

I think that the "shikkotsurin" is the slug world, and if it's mentioned now, surely someone would be a sennin of this world. Who - that's the big question, though of course all of us wants it to be Sakura eventually, lol.

I was looking into mythical creatures in the history of japan, and interesting enough, Kirin is mentioned as the powerful creature which "personifies all that is good, pure, and peaceful".
I find this interesting since in the last page of this chapter, it is mentioned that Kabuto has turned into the 'most evil sage mode'.
Knowing how Kishi uses a lot japanese mythical facts in his story (uzanagi, Amaterassu etc), maybe he would do same here too and make Sasuke use Kirin to defeat Kabuto?

And just think if by a small change of fate it was Naruto who went exploring and Sasuke who stayed with Sakura in the Forest of Death it would have been Naruto who saved her and everything would be different.

Maybe she had some hidden power we hadn't seen before, just like Jiraiya. But I don't think she mastered it, just like Jiraiya(HEHE).
And then Sakura would do some cool genjutsu or something, why bring up her gen-talent so many times and just skip it?

This manga gets more ridiculous every chapter. Hopefully Naruto reaches his full power and summons a mecha soon so it can end. :l

As I said a few chapters ago, I don't think things are going to go according to Itachi's plans in this battle....

Yeah, I think I remember Kungfu Truffle saying that a while back: Kabuto could easily be the major villain because he had detailed notes on all parties, focusing on strengths/weaknesses; had medic-nin abilities to heal on par with Tsunade/Sakura; and had an unknown motive. He's a super-villain in the making.

My first thought on this chapter was that by Kabuto going to great pains to explain each of Team Taka/Hebi's skills, he was setting up events to come.

From here, Sasuke either has to turn to good (by Itachi's influence) or turn really, really bad. Well, if Kabuto has these powers morphed into him, and one of the snakes bites Sasuke, then isn't it possible that Sasuke could then be "infected" by all those powers. Making him supremely evil and powerful? And potentially Kabuto's puppet....

It could be that Kabuto's ultimate goal was capturing Sasuke, whereas Madara's goal was capturing Naruto. And if Sasuke's sharingan can control Naruto, then this would be the ultimate power struggle in the end. Those two men for ultimate control, and the the two boys fighting to regain self-control and possibly to help each other.

The only thing about the Karin background is that it makes me wonder again about Sakura's. Could the pink hair mean she's a descendant of both Uzumaki and Senju, making her an ultimate healer? Anyway, the more other minor characters are fleshed out, the more it is glaringly apparent that Kishimoto is withholding Sakura's background info.

Lastly, desaix I've been up in your neck of the woods the last week or so: Just got back from seeing the cherry blossoms in DC and spent a few nights in Ashburn! It was lovely!
